Dr. Mahootchi is the BEST ophthalmologist by far!!!! Ive been seeing him for my eye care for 12 years...He was the first doctor to discover my cataracts in both eyes which had been there for quite some time; he said I was probably born with them. I was 21 at the time. Im extremely thrilled with my new vision at age 33. My cataracts had become extremely bothersome over the past 4 years, but I kept putting off the surgery b/c I wanted to wait until finances allowed me to choose the Crystal Lens implant. Well, after my annual visit in July of this year, I realized my vision (or lack thereof...I was extremely near-sighted as well.... -11....yikes) was interfering with my quality of life. Dr. Mahootchi worked with me to choose the best option to achieve optimal vision within our budget. With a toric lens implant, my astigmatism and near-sightedness could be corrected. I now have 20/20 vision in both eyes!!!!! :) I see things I dont remember ever seeing before.....Id worn glasses since age 8. All I require now are OTC reading glasses for reading or using computer....a very small sacrifice....no more heavy glasses!!!! Dr. Mahootchi is not only the best in his field as far as diagnosis and skill, but is extremely pleasant with an awesome bedside manner (He is ALWAYS consistent in being pleasant and professional, and always greets me with a smile)....always willing to answer my questions. I wont go to another eye doctor. And I think its GREAT that he is local for me right in Zephyrhills with his own surgery center. Both his office and surgery center are extremely clean and beautiful facilities. His staff is absolutely wonderful. They all did an amazing job with keeping me calm before and during my surgeries.....anxiety crept up on me thinking about my eyes being worked on, but EVERYONE was absolutely fantastic!!! I am more than pleased with my results. Dr. Mahootchi really did an amazing job with my eyes, and I was definitely not average patient as far as eye health at my age. I would recommend Dr. Mahootchi to anyone. Also, I took my Dad to Dr. Mahootchi since moving him to Florida to be near family. Dad has diabetes, and Dr. Mahootchi is the best with diabetic eye care.....just be sure you know your A1C number within the last 3 months. Dads not really crazy about doctors in general, but really likes Dr. Mahootchi. He did Dads cataract surgery on his second eye as well as laser on the other to clear up the cloudiness from a previous cataract surgery up north. Dad wears no glasses now, and is extremely happy with his vision. His last check-up today since his procedures showed great vision with both eyes looking great, and his right eye which he had the cataract surgery on is completely healed. Dr. Mahootchi and his staff are awesome in working with Dad....he has dementia and everyone is very patient with him and treat him like a king. We are both very pleased and thrilled with the care we received, and will continue to receive.

My name is Det. Ken Keith, lm a retired police detective, for the last year, the vision in my left eye began to become blurry. It became so distracting I made an appointment with Dr. Mahootchi for an exam to fine out if it could be repaired. The staff was very nice, and gave me several eye test right away. The diagnosis was a cataract and I would need it removed and a new lens placed. Dr. Mahootchi explained my options and the procedure that would need be done. Since I am a pilot and a now a Private Investigator, I needed to be able to read and see clearly at distance. Dr. Mahootchi had me read up on the Crystalens, he explained it would flex to allow me to read and see at distance. I was very Impressed with the information provided. I was scheduled within a week for the new Crystalens operation, it was done in the facility directly behind Dr. Mahootchis office in Zephyrhills. I came in that morning, was given some medication to relax me, the procedure took only about 1/2 hour. I was awake the whole time and felt no pain, very little discomfort. I was amazed that I saw the cataract being removed and I saw the ceiling clearly as soon as the new lens was installed. I followed the Doctors instructions and could see clearly from the time I left the procedure. My sight has been getting clearer and sharper with each day that passes. I have to laugh each time I describe how my vision in the repaired eye is like a new HD TV picture, bright, clear and sharp. Colors are so bright, when I look through my other eye, it is as though Im looking through tan sunglasses. Even though I have 20/20 vision in the other eye, I will be going in in a few months to replace the lens, remove the tan color. I could not believe the difference, especially at night. Think on wearing sunglasses at night, then removing them. Its just like a miracle seeing things again as they really are, as when you were 20 years old again. I can now shoot my guns accurately, fly planes, drive at night ( in my Black Tahoe with all windows tinted limo black), but I can see out now. Once again I have to reiterate how great the staff treated me, how professional and knowledgeable they all were. I cant believe the low price for the lens compared the other places I had checked, and when you think of having something permanently placed in your eye, you should do a lot of checking. Thank you Dr. Mahootchi for giving me perfect vision back.

I went to the Brooksville office of a well known clinic in Tarpon Springs for narrow lens glaucoma laser surgery on the right eye. I was in their office three hours, of which, the surgery took almost a half hour - and the surgery hurt! Days later I was still in pain and had to go to Tarpon Springs on a Sunday because the pain was so bad. I was so upset I went down to University of Southern Florida (USF) to see a specialist. After examining me, the specialist asked my why I came to USF when there is a specialist in my own town of Zephyrhills:- Dr. Mahootchie. I went to Dr. Mathootchi with trepidation about having the surgery on my other eye. I was so relieved to find a well run office and a caring doctor and staff. While examining me, I asked when he would do the surgery? His answer was "I just did." I was full of wonder at the quickness and ease of the surgery, I asked why my first surgery hurt when I didnt even know he had done this one. His answer was, I have the most up-to-date equipment. My whole appointment took less than forty minutes and I was with him less than ten minutes. That was seven years ago. Since that time, Dr. Mahootchi has opened his surgery building. When I needed cataract surgery in both eyes, I had no qualms about having him do the surgeries. He and his staff are professional and caring people. The day after surgery, I received a phone call from one of his staff checking on how I was doing. What more could a patient ask for. I have recommended Dr. Mahootchi and his surgery center to many friends and acquaintances since that time seven years ago. They have been as pleased as I am. Thank you Dr. M.
