Ive given this urgent care multiple attempts but will not be returning. Several times have had to return to a different doctors office after being misdiagnosed here. Went on a Sunday morning with flu-like symptoms. They were not busy, there was only 2 people waiting ahead of me. Waited about 30 minutes in the waiting area to get called back, not bad. I explained my symptoms and they ran a flu swab. I waited in the exam room with fever getting worse by the minute. After over an HOUR in the exam room I am visited not by a doctor, but nurse practitioner, who says my flu test was negative and claims it to be a viral infection. She was in and out of the room in about 30 seconds with "Sorry, your test was negative, go home and take some expectorants and you will be fine in a couple days." Basically had me waiting an hour to tell me there was nothing they could do for me. Frustrating. Wrote me a note to clear me to go back to work the following Tuesday. Tuesday comes and Im feeling 10x worse so I return to the urgent care in Gwinnett. Was in and out of that facility in an hour and blood test confirmed I definitely had the flu. Not impressed whatsoever with NGHS Urgent Care. Ive returned only because of the convenience to where I live, and on occasion have encountered some kind doctors, but 90% of the times I have visited, the staff seems very careless and treats you like just another number. I have been misdiagnosed at NGHS multiple times due to their tendency to fluff things off as "viral." I will be driving 30 minutes out of the way to go to Gwinnett Urgent Care where the staff is much more caring, thoughtful, efficient, and truly helps you to get feeling better!

My family of 4 kids has visited this Urgent Care facility many times. We never have any problems except when Dr. Rogers is there. He is arrogant, rude, and doesnt listen. Once 3 of my 4 kids had tested positive for strep by our family physician. Two days later the 4th child and myself started to have a sore throat so we stopped by this Urgent Care on the way home from school. I had to INSIST that we be given a strep test as Dr. Rogers said we both just had a cold even though Id explained that 3 of my kids had strep currently. Mine came back + and my childs -. Dr. Rogers refused to give the child any antibiotics even though it was clear to me that the test just hadnt picked it up since 4 people in our family now had + strep tests. 2 days later I took my son to our family doc and he indeed had strep. Now with 104 fever! Another time, I took my son in with 4-5 sores on his body and arm. Dr. Rogers said it was ring worm. I asked to have it cultured as I did not agree. He refused and said he was calling in a prescription for ring worm. When I got to the pharmacy they said he had called in for an over the counter medication - Lotimin (which I already had at home). So, wasted trip to the pharmacy. 3 days later the kid had 30-40 of these sores all over his body. We went back (they charged us!) and a different doctor diagnosed it as Impetigo. Duh. If Dr. Rogers would listen then he probably wouldnt continually misdiagnose thus causing people to suffer and spend more money having to go back to the doc for proper treatment.

Very friendly staff, theres always an ER physician there. Very quick. I disagree with the last two posts. I have been an RN at Emory for 15 years. My family and I were visiting friends on Lake Lanier one weekend when my son started not feeling well. Normally, I would take him to his doctor in Atlanta but because it was the weekend we went to the Urgent Care at River place. The staff was very welcoming and helped us look up our insurance because we had left the card at home. I was hesitant at first when I saw that the doctor referenced earlier was working but when he came in to our room, he was very friendly and straight forward. My son was tested for strep and when the test came back negative I was relieved that the doctor didn’t try to give me antibiotics "just in case." From a medical perspective, parents think that antibiotics are the answer to every illness but because of frequent use of antibiotics our children have less resistance to sickness. Which in turn gets them even more sick. Just because your child is running a fever doesn’t mean he needs an antibiotic and even if half your family is sick, that doesn’t mean that the other half should be treated with antibiotics. I would highly recommend this facility. They are very knowledgeable and don’t try to over-treat the patient. If my family and I are ever in the area again & need to see a doctor, this will be the first place I call.

My wife just went to this clinic where the girl at the front showed no concern. My wife was sick and all this girl, who thinks she is all that - she needs Simon to straighten her out, does is ask for her insurance card. She doesnt show any sympathy, or care. She need to be shown the door! The nurses in the back were complaining how busy it was and how they wanted to go home. The Dr. came in and she asked, "what is the problem?" My wife thought she knew what it was so she told her, the Doctor asked her to open her mouth and then said okay I will get you a prescription. She did not ask if she was taking any other pain medicine - in fact the nurse did not ask this either. they are very rude there. I think the whole staff need to be sent back to school to learn how to treat others. They are in the service business but it is obvious that all that they care about is making money and going home! If you live around Chateau Elan, Hoschton, Braselton, or surrounding areas do not go to this clinic.

Office staff was okay considering I arrived about 10 min before close. The forms were quick to fill out. I saw the PA who spent about 5 min with me. Afterwards, she suggested over the counter meds. I started rubbing my left chest as I was having chest pains. The PA did not even ask if I was okay. I have been to the doctor 3 times in the past 10 years because of getting sick. I was very disappointed that they did not take me more seriously. Perhaps I should have been more dramatic in describing my symptoms. I was sent home with nothing - no shot - no samples - nothing. I woke up the next morning feeling worse. Why would anyone want to go to the doctor, wait an hour, spend $$$, just to be told take over the counter meds, and it will work itself out. Common sense should tell this PA that if a person is willing to go to all that trouble, perhaps they need help greater than what they could provide for themselves. Very unimpressed with this service.

First visit to this facility. I found them to be kind and efficient. The building is new and very neat and clean. I was in and out in less that 30 minutes. I saw the PA who was very nice and thorough. I tested positive for Strep (I had been feeling bad for 4 days) and her recommended treatment had me feeling better in about 8 hours. Only noted because Strep doesnt always sho up on the rapid test and take time to culture. They phoned my meds into the pharmacy of my choice and they were ready when I arrived a few minutes later. Im sure the wait can be longer if you go at other times. They open at 8:00 and I was there by 8:45. They took my insurance with just the co-pay and the amount of forms you need to fill out are minimal. Highly recommend and I will certainly use them again if I can not get into my primary care.
