Mistreated and ripped off. I saw Dr. Swofford for my yearly exam. He told me that I needed a new prescription and that I also need surgery for a cataract. I explained to him that I do not want to have surgery, because my husband had unsuccessful surgery and I was afraid of it. He said that I must have surgery and not to worry about such a simple procedure. His tone was gruff and patronizing. I was embarrassed, so I ordered the new glasses and kept my thoughts to myself. I had no intention of having surgery. Chip helped me order the glasses. He was very polite. Then the real trouble began. The new glasses MADE my vision blurry. My vision was never blurry before. I went back to get the new glasses fixed several times, but no one would take the problem seriously because of the ‘supposed’ cataract. At this point I was afraid that I was losing my vision. There were times when I would trip and nearly fall because of the blurriness while wearing the glasses. Fortunately, my daughter noticed that I could see better when I REMOVED the glasses. For example, to read a clock I would remove my glasses. I took my daughter’s advice and saw her doctor. Well, it turns that the glasses that Dr. Swofford prescribed had strength 1.75 when I only needed 1.25. That is the reason the new glasses made my vision blurry, but even more important: I do NOT have a cataract. This is wonderful news, but it troubling that Dr. Swofford insisted that I needed cataract surgery. So, I’m writing this review to warn other potential victims. If you go to Eye Site, get a second opinion. It’s worth the trouble.

I went when I was around 13 to get my first contacts prescription and they made fun of me for flinching when they puffed air in my eyes which is a basic human response if I could give zero stars I would

Been visiting Dr. Swofford and Chip for 15 years and never had anything but pleasant experiences. Always prompt and helpful with contact reorders, and glasses fixes.
