Dr. Hobby single handily saved my cats life this Sunday (11/22/2015). Hedi has a condition in which he has a difficult time urinating or cant urinate at all. This condition is fatal if not treated immediately. He needed a catheter because his bladder was very full and he couldnt pee. The emergency clinic turned us away be use we couldnt pay the 2,000 dollars they charge for the procedure. Dr. Hobby came in on her day off and when her sister was in town visiting. She needed a vet tech to monitor his anesthesia which is why she sent us to an emergency clinic first. Since no one was available and he was knocking on deaths door she decided to get his oxygen ready and anesthesia and inserted his catheter by herself. It was temporary relief because he needed 24 hour fluids and the catheter in all night but for Sunday I was able to bring my baby home with some comfort. He got blocked again that night and needed to go in the very next morning for that catheter and 24 hour drip. Hes back home again today and peeing like he hasnt been able to pee in weeks and eating like no bodys business! Dr. Hobby showed me and my cat compassion and kindness. She truly cares so much for every fur baby that walks through their door. Ill recommend this animal hospital to everyone I see. Because of Dr. Hobby and Dr. Gallagher Hedi is alive.

Douglas Oaks is a simply the best. Both Dr. Hobby and Dr. Gallagher are extremely knowledgeable and personable. The staff is also amazing. They are all caring, friendly, and professional. We have taken our dog, Calvin, to Douglas Oaks since he was a puppy and have always been pleased with his treatment and the prices for service. Calvin actually enjoyed coming to the clinic and seeing some of his favorite people who always showered him with love. Recently, Calvin was diagnosed with acute leukemia. Dr. Hobby and all of the Douglas Oaks staff have been incredible during this difficult situation. Dr. Hobby has truly gone above and beyond in everything that she has done, from explaining the reasoning behind some the testing and medication recommended by the specialist (who was not as willing or able to break done the technical lingo into layman’s terms) to setting aside time to help us plan for Calvin’s eventual departure. Her compassion and support has been unparalleled. Dr. Hobby has made this situation a little easier to handle and has helped us make informed decisions so that we can do the right thing for our pup. I cannot recommend Douglas Oaks highly enough. They take care of your animals with the love and expertise that you expect for a member of your family.

We recently took our cat to Dr. Gallagher to diagnose her breathing difficulties. Unfortunately after seeing her x-rays we realized the problem was much more dire than we had expected and we had to make the agonizing decision to put her to sleep. I dont mean for this review to be a downer but I just had to comment on the professionalism and compassion that was exhibited by the doctor and his staff. Dr. Gallagher personifies everything you have ever imagined that you wanted in a doctor. He is not only friendly and knowledgeable but very attentive and sympathetic. Hes definitely NOT one of those doctors who keeps glancing at his watch the whole time you are asking him questions -- if you know what I mean. In addition to that, every member of his staff was friendly and compassionate every step of the way. Plus their prices are reasonable and their clinic is tidy (youll immediately notice how clean it smells when you enter). I cant recommend Douglas Oaks enough. Thanks for your expert guidance during a very trying time.

We were looking for a vet in Douglasville for our pets and found Douglas Oaks just down the road from our new home. In December, our beloved Dog of 16 years had lost the quality of life that we wanted for him. Even the children knew it was time to put him to sleep and they wanted to be there to say goodbye. We arrived in tears...and the staff could not have been more sensitive or nice to us. We were able to take the time we needed to say goodbye and they never rushed us. They made a paw print for the children, which is so special to them. We were so suprised when a card arrived the next week from Dr. Jones and he had written a very special note to all of us, including the children. The thoughtfulness and compassion of Dr. Jones and the staff was overwhelming during a very difficult time for us. I just cannot say, "Thank you", enough.

Have made many visits and have always been treated great by all staff, from the front office, vet techs and Veterinarians Dr Gallagher and Dr Hobby. I have always had animals as pets and finding a great Veterinary office is a must. My dogs medical issues have been thoroughly evaluated and treated with exceptional compassion. Both of the Veterinarians never rush you and always allow you to share concerns and questions. One of my dogs had a very serious condition which necessitated urgent surgery at UGA. Dr. Gallagher was precise in diagnosing her condition and helped with the process which led to surgery. I would never hesitate to recommend this office! They are awesome!!!

Dr. Mike and his wife, Jane, have done an outstanding job. They continue to build Douglas Oaks into the kind of place you enjoy visiting. They recently made an excellent move by adding Dr. Jeanette Hobby, who, as soon as you meet her, you like. And Wednesdays, Dr. Leslie Griffin is there, who weve known for some time. Dr. Leslie is an absolutely wonderful vet and an extremely nice person. I dont think you can go wrong by putting the care of your pet in the hands of these three fine people. The recent additions to Douglas Oaks of Dr. Jeanette and Dr. Leslie, as well as their knowledgeable and friendly staff makes going to Douglas Oaks a pleasure.

I used to go to another vet in Douglasville that pushed my cats and myself through the door as fast as possible with as little information as possible. My cats were treated like second rate citizens compared to the way I saw dogs treated. My oldest cat was also misdiagnosed. I got fed up and tried Dr. Hobby. She is amazing. She is patient and talks you through each procedure, answers all questions thoroughly, makes sure that you are comfortable with each decision, and treats cats well. The office staff is also patient and compassionate. Everyone has been nothing but kind.

These people are amazing. My cat Bella was having a very hard time breathing and seemed to be in distress. I called 4 veterinary offices this past Saturday and no one could see her and referred me to an emergency vet that was 2 hours away. I called Douglas Oaks and explained what was going on and they told me to come in immediately. Unfortunately Bella was diagnosed with pretty bad lung cancer. The Dr. Was great and sympathetic and helped the best he could seeing that Bella did not have much time. Thank you guys for helping helping me ease her pain.
