If I could rate Dr. Morris and his staff higher than 5 stars, I would. In a HEARTBEAT. He is kind, compassionate, incredibly knowledgeable and my dogs absolutely love him and the vet techs there. They dont experience any anxiety when we go. Weve lost two dogs since weve lived in Newnan (one to cancer and one to age), and both times, Dr. Morris and the staff were positively amazing in the care they gave my beloved Labradors and ME. I look back on it now and realize even more clearly that there isnt a more capable vet who will do more to see your pets receive the best, most practical care possible. We also adopted a puppy who turned out to have Parvo, and Dr. Morris and his team saved our Max. It was touch and go, but they encouraged us to come visit him and called regularly with updates. Even with that early trauma, Max positively loves going to the vet. I credit that to the absolute loving way he was treated when he was so sick. We did have to see another vet there once when Dr. Morris was out of the office. Dr. Johnson didnt provide the type of care we expected or treat us the way wed come to expect from Dr. Morris, so my husband and I made the conscious choice that only Dr. Morris (or the newly graduated vet weve met and my dogs love, Dr. Canaday) will treat our animals. Its all personal and canine preference. You may love Dr. Johnson. Do not *ever* hesitate to trust your animals to Dr. Morriss care. Ever. The man is brilliant and, with a father-in-law who is a vet in another state, I have some experience and definite expectations. :) Dr. Morris and Dr. Canaday have never over- or under-prescribed treatment, have always given us a very accurate estimate of cost of services and have treated us with absolute kindness and compassion. You just cant go wrong with this state-of-the-art clinic. Obviously, I cant say enough good about them. LOL

Dogwood Veterinary Hospital saved my diabetic cat; I called them with the fact that my cat was not eating, had trouble walking, and breathing heavily, and he was in the hospital and being treated within 40 minutes of my call! Dr. Johnson quickly worked up a treatment plan with estimate and spent a good amount of time explaining the problem and treatment plan to me. She made sure I understood the criticality of my cat’s condition and what might happen over the next few days. The technicians were so understanding and helpful, and made sure I was able to visit my cat whenever I showed up. They were extremely patient with my aggressive cat and gave him all the attention he needed while he was being stabilized. On the day he came home, Dr. Morris showed me how to give my cat insulin injections and detailed discharge instructions, and followed up daily. My cat is home and doing well, and I feel confident that I know how to care for him and help is just a phone call away if anything unexpected comes up. I also transferred my 2 dogs to Dogwood when they showed sign of respiratory illness and their usual vet could not see them until the next day, and not together. I highly recommend Dogwood Vet as a quality care vet with a team of 3 doctors and numerous technicians who will work together to take great care of your pets!

I chose this vet when I moved to the area because the veterinarians credentials looked exemplary, and our cats have long term health issues. Unfortunately, the care was really compromised by the personality of Dr. Johnson. Every appointment started at least 20 minutes late, there was lots of medical jargon and endless talking that resulted in me being confused as to what may or may not be wrong with my cats, and what I should do to provide good care. All of the meds prescribed (which were very expensive) made my cat sicker. When I pointed out that she was very late for our last appointment, Dr. Johnson got very aggressive and rude with me. She got in my face and repeatedly asked me, "Do you understand???? Do you understand???" and the badgering went on from there. The other staff is so friendly, but that doesnt make up for ineffective care. I had to draw the line when my cat was prescribed a dewormer prior to the stool analysis results being received. The screen came back clean, so I paid $20 for a med and gave it to my cat (!!) when it wasnt needed. I wonder what the long term effects of overmedicating an already sick cat might be?

We bought a tortoise that was struggling and brought him here because he hadnt eaten in weeks. The vet said she knew how to treat him but only told us to soak him in water and let him get more sun (which is routine care, were already supposed to do those things) He continued to go downhill and we took him to a different vet who immediately injected saline solution because he was SO DEHYDRATED and because he hadnt been eating or drinking on his own. He also took an xray to make sure there was no blockage or lung infection so we could begin to investigate why he was like this to treat the cause. Unfortunately he passed away a few days ago but for your reptiles I absolutely recommend Verterinary Clinic West in Marietta. The difference in care was astounding. Their willingness to refer me to another vet for services they thought he needed but couldnt provide made me feel like they care about my pet and not just the money they were making from him. I still feel guilty for the time we wasted at Dogwood and wonder if my guy would still be alive now if wed gotten him proper medical care.

This was our second visit at Dogwood. My first visit was absolutely amazing, today however, I am only pleased because they recommended great things to help my puppy stay well. I do have to say though, I was very disappointed in the attitude towards my puppy. Hes a Pit Lab Mix and absolutely full of energy. Shannon (the tech) acted like she was disgusted because he jumped on her and acted like his barking was the worst thing shes ever heard then reminded me several times that hed be a "bigger problem" if I didnt get him enrolled in obedience classes. Dr. Canaday was amazing the first time but today she acted like he worked her nerves because he wouldnt be still. I guess Dogwood is accustomed to pets who are more like humans. All they talked about was "Obedience Classes Training." My feelings were very hurt to see them treat my puppy like he was a monster simply because hes full of energy and barked a lot (especially when he heard OTHER DOGS BARKING). Needless to say, I will NOT be returning......looking for another Vet as I type!!!

We have taken a total of four pets to Dogwood Veterinary Hospital for over 12 years since we moved to Newnan. The professionalism, service quality, and loving patient care by the entire staff are truly excellent. The Doctors are accessible and very caring. This past Christmas Eve night we had a serious medical emergency around 1:00 am. We called Dogwood and their Doctor Canady responded within :15 minutes to help us successfully manage a very bad situation. Several years ago, we had to put down a dog due to serious injury. Dr. Johnson, who came to know and love our pet over the years, actually sat on the floor with us, and cried as much as we did as she prepared to assist our dog. And for the best possible recommendation, our current dog loves to go to the vet, gets excited when we pull into the parking lot and runs to the clinic door as soon as I park. He even goes into the treatment rooms willingly and excitedly. We highly recommend Dogwood Veterinary Hospital whenever we can.
