My 10 year old min pin was very ill. He was lethargic an had begun having convulsions.I called Dr. Shellnutts emergency number and he answered right away. I was crying and explaining what was going on and even though he was not due to open for about an hour he met us at his clinic. He took our baby in and realized right away what was wrong. Pancreatitus. He began working on him and told us exactly what he was doing and what was going on. He was very kind and very honest and didnt give us any false hope. Later that evening he called with an update and called first thing in the morning also. I have no doubt that he saved our babys life and we are forever grateful. His staff were all very kind and we are forver in his debt. The price was very reasonable, however we didnt care what it would have cost. Thank God for Dr. Ben Shellnutt..and his staff. He genuinely cares about animals.

i recently took my cat to family pet care for routine shots. while there a couple had lost their dog. dr ben shelnutt was so compasionate to this couple. the office had a solemn kind of sense there like everyone in the office was grieving over the loss of this pet. this was such a great feeling, not that the pets life had ended, but that the entire staff showed so much sympathy toward a pet that was not their own. this will keep me going to this office.i have never seen a vet or staff respond this way, as my husband is in the army and we have seen a lot of vets all over the country. i think that family pet care is the best

If only 0 stars were available. We took my dog and my cat and made both of their appointments at the same time because my dog needed shots and my cat needed to get fixed. We were given a total cost of $59 for his shots and $57 to get her fixed. Well after he received his shots and I go to pay the lady tells me it will be over $80 then we take my cat in months later, after her procedure they say it will be over $90! When I express my disappointment to the lady behind the counter all she says is " well mistakes happen " We will NOT be going back!!

We LOVE Dr. Ben! Hes absolutely THE best vet Ive ever met. I moved to Hogansville about 7 yrs. ago & have used Dr. Ben ever since... hes knowledgeable, kind, friendly & really cares about the animals. I am co-owner of a grooming shop in Hogansville & we recommend him to all our customers. We also have our own dogs, as well as several rescue dogs, who all see Dr. Ben! The whole office is a great family environment of people who put your pets health first!

We lost our beloved Crisco several months ago. We were treated with compassion and understanding. In the past when we lost a pet, we could not go back to the same vet office--I think partly due to our feeling they lacked compassion for our loss. Not so this time...Dr. Shelnutt really seemed to care, so we continue to take our other animals to him. I wish we had known him sooner. Youll like him.

Chris Shelton I have been breeding English bulldogs for 30 years, in three different states. Dr.Ben and his staff are the absolute best veterinarian Hospital for breeding in the southeast....bar none!!! They are very knowledgeable, efficient, caring, and affordable. Dr.Ben has met me thereafter hours as well. All of the others could only be compared to them, because they are the best!

We brought in our dog who literally passed away just as we arrive. They were very compassionate and helpful in taking care of him. And they treated our other dog in his stead, giving him a check up that he was scheduled for the following day. Im going to be going back there with my pets from now on. I adopted my Buddy from him the previous year.

But I was amazed at how caring and nice everyone was and How The Dr.Ben explained everything to me and watched and examined my Saddie. And was kind and gentle. I loved family pet care, Ive taken my dogs there since I adopted them, they helped me a lot and answered any questions I had, their prices were reasonable, the only reason I have had to quit using them is because we just moved out of state. But if by some odd chance we move back to the Lagrange area I will definitely be calling them again!
