On July 3rd, 2013 at approximately 10:20 pm. I witnessed 2 medium sized dogs get hit by a car on singleton road. I thought that the dogs were dead so I decided to atleast move their bodies on the side walk so that they dont keep getting run over. As I walked over there, I was in shock, both dogs were still alive. I moved them quickly, I almost got hit by a car, but I was too shocked to care. Once I moved them, I noticed that one was bleeding from nose and mouth, and the other the same. I called my husband (we live down the street) he came and picked us up; after about 10 minutes one of the dogs did not make it. I am new to the area so I was unsure about a 24 hour vet, but I googled the nearest and found All Species 24 Hour Animal Hospital. I called and informed them that I witnessed 2 strays being hit but they needed help. The first thing the receptionist said was you have to pay for them to be examined, so I said that is fine. We went over there, we put the dog that was still striving for life on the table, all Dr. Innocent did was listen to his heart, and looked at him and he charged us $95.00, then he said it was going to charge $500.00 for the x-rays and tests, I told him that was fine, but we didnt have money but we can pay some and we will pay the rest the next day, he declined saying that he needed to full amount. Does this man have no heart? it was 10:20 pm this dog is in excruciating pain, and he needed the full amount. I was shocked. The dog started to have breathing problems, and I was asking him what are the chances and what does he recommend we do. All he replied was I dont know So I contact another 24 hour vet and she did informed me that blood from the nose and mouth, can indicate that blood isnt circulating to his brain so he would not last much longer. So, my husband and I after comforting the dog, telling him he will no longer suffer, that we can put him down. As I was crying I asked Dr. Innocent, and all he told me was that was going to be $110.00 do you want to cremate him? I was so angry and furious with him. After spending $95.00 and not having my purse on me, we didnt have enough, he still declined. So I contacted the other 24 hour vet and they told me to bring him in, they informed me that if I bring him in as a stray then they would take care of him. So as we headed them, I am in the back seat comforting him, and crying telling him I am sorry that I wish I could do anything to relieve his pain. As soon as we got there, they took him to the back, there were about 6 couples there looking at us, probably because I was crying my eyes out. The vet tech came out and said the doctor informed her that his condition isnt looking so well, so we have to put him down. And I said if that is for the best and he will be pain free and crossing the rainbow bridge with his other companion then I tearfully said okay. As soon as we were about to walk out a wonderful lady came straight up to us and told us she is willing to pay all his medical expense as long as I can give him a wonderful home, at that moment, I had this feeling of joy, as soon as we went to speak with the vet tech, she came out and informed us that he had crossed over, and is now painless. We hugged and I thanked her for everything she had done by saying those amazing words. Then me and my husband left. As we drove home, I had a feeling in my heart that he and his companion were in a better place, chasing each other, and playing with other furry friends. I apologize for this being so long, but this was a incident that I want to make sure that everybody knows how cruel Dr. Innocent is. I myself have 3 dogs, and I will make sure to informed all dog lovers out there NEVER to go to him, he has no heart. Thank you.

*****************UPDATE*************************** I wrote this after a very pleasant visit with this practice. At the time we were hoping it was an infection. We opted out of the tests to confirm either an infection or cancer due to financial reasons. We tried 2 rounds of antibiotics with no success. My poor baby has CANCER!! (Not the practices fault, I know this) The reason I am changing my review is because of the price gouging that happens within this practice. Face it, we all love our pets!! This is why we read the reviews posted online, to seek out the best care for our babies. To ensure we are getting the best care for our pets for our money. On Saturday 3/12/16, my boyfriend took our Ava back to the vet for the third time, since the illness has began. Before he knew it, he was surrounded by multiple Vets and nurses telling him, Ava has cancer and she is terminal. They proceeded to tell my boyfriend that he has 24 hours to euthanize her. My boyfriend explains that my son and I are out of town for the weekend and cannot come back until late Sunday, (My mother also has cancer, and I was visiting with her with all seven of her grandchildren.) They then tell my boyfriend that we have until Tuesday 3/15/2016 to make the decision. My boyfriend calls me to tell me he is freaking out because the way they have just expressed everything to him, he felt as though they are going to seek legal action if it is not done. (I am a law student, I dont know all of the laws, but common sense tells me they have no right to essentially threaten my boyfriend.) I understand my dog is in pretty bad shape. She does need to go on to heaven in a peaceful, humane manner, but I feel very strongly about someone trying to force a time limit on my family. After all of this, they contacted my boyfriend to tell him the cost to euthanize our Ava, $407.00. I called a friend of mine, whose mother works in a vets office (I have never met her mother, or talked to her, I know my friend from classes I am currently enrolled in.) At her vet, it is literally a quarter of the cost at All Species!! I feel like we are being taken advantage of because we are in an impossible situation. I dont know if this is their intentions. But the feelings I have toward this practice have changed tremendously. Good luck with your pet and we hope for your pets well being!! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Very pleased with Dr. Innocent, as well as the staff here!! Our Ava contracted some sort of infection we are guessing came from a road trip. He is a great Vet and person!! Highly recommended!!

DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMAL HERE!!! Last night I brought my dog here because she ingested more Benadryl than her normal dose (about 3x the dose which I later discovered is in no way life threatening). After explaining the dose over the phone, the vet and his staff said "she could become comatose and needs to be seen now". I rushed her here immediately and was asked fill out more forms than I do for myself for the doctor; meanwhile my poor dog is just sitting there and there is no particular hurry to see her. After being examined the vet said the dose wasnt a big deal. Mind you, this is after I had already told them her weight and the dose via phone and had at this point already paid for the visit. I asked that before they render any services, that I be given a breakdown of charges so that I can either accept or deny. Their incompetent tech handed me a bill that said my balance due would be $2 since Id already paid $95 for the visit. They gave her apomorphine to vomit-- a medication that causes dogs to feel high and irritates the eyes. When I went to pay they said it would be $102. When I asked if there was a mistake, she said she forgot to put the other charges on my invoice. What??! I agreed to services rendered based on charges you told me and now youve changed the charges. I refused to pay for something I did not agree upon. They initially said they would send it to collections, in which case I stated would be fine, and I would contest it. Soon after, they said instead they would opt to CALL THE POLICE. I agreed to wait for the police there with my two dogs. When the police arrived, I showed the officer the two different invoices they gave me and the officer agreed that this was a misleading practice and suggested that the staff be trained. The tech responded to both myself and the officer by saying she was in a hurry and wanted to get at least part of the invoice to me. Why would I need part of an invoice of my agreeing to services hinged on the total services that would be rendered. They are a SCAM and I do not believe my dog even needed apomorphine which is why I am reporting Dr. Innocent to the GA State Board of Veterinary Medicine for administering unnecessary medication for the purpose of making money.
