DO NOT USE THIS VET. They always try to up-sell, but I was willing to forgive aggressive selling until it became clear they have NO concern for the animals. They are concerned about the money and not the welfare of the animals. Here is my story: During a routine cleaning my cat became extremely agitated. She had been cleaned several times before at MSV with no incident; however, this time, there was. According to the staff, her behavior was unprovoked; I find this hard to believe. More disturbing than Dusks distress was the conduct of the veterinarian. Dusk became vocal, and her vocalizing and hissing were audible in the waiting area, at which point one of the receptionists seemed to go into the back to check, the receptionist returned and informed me that “it was not Dusk making the noise it was another cat.” This was a lie. Dusk had become so agitated and defensive that she urinated and defecated on herself. The problem was compounded when the veterinarian proposed solutions that ranged from gross to dangerous. The vet initially suggested that I take my cat (who I brought in for a cleaning and was currently covered in excrement) home and return with her on Monday. I expressed my unwillingness to do so and explained that I would not be willing to have my cat spread excrement around my house. The vets response was to suggest that I take my cat and leave her in the garage. This last suggestion was the most disturbing part of my experience. The vet suggested that I leave my cat in an environment that can endanger her welfare. Leave me the cat in the garage for two days, in the middle of the summer? Left with few options, I left Dusk at MSV for two days. Unfortunately, this means the cat sat in her excrement for two days, spent Sunday unattended in an unfamiliar environment, and possibly require sedation. Monday morning I agreed to sedation so she can be cleaned. Upon bringing her home, she began to shake and twitch uncontrollably. She could not stand or walk. She is frightened of all blankets and panics when I reach for her. I have NEVER seen her in such distress. She keeps struggling to get to her food and water bowl as if she had not been fed or had water in the two days she was in Main street’s care. I have taken video of her condition; it is disheartening. I am disgusted at the care my cat received at MSV and concerned about her current condition.

I used mainstreet vets for about 1 year. I moved from my previous vet because this one was closer. The first visit was okay, he tried to convince me that "NRT" is what my pet needed, I was a little skeptical about it so I did my own investigation, this "process" aka hoax is not tailored for animals, it is only used on humans, never tested on pets...I declined any type of nrt to be done on my pet. A few months later, my dog was due for vaccines, I dropped her off and when I picked her up the "Dr." was standing up front, I asked him how my pet did and he did not remember seeing my pet. Now I know there were only 2 dogs that dropped off besides mine, because I inquired at the time of drop off, what time my pet would be ready and the receptionist stated there were only 3 drop offs today so it should not take that long. Since the doctor did not “remember” his patient from 3 hours ago, I had a feeling that this so called Dr. did not even give my dog an exam with her vaccines. So, I took my dog recorders and took him straight to another vet who informed me my pet had a skin infection and a heart mummer that Dr. Moorehead did not inform me of, probably because he was unaware of these problems since no exam was administered. I know that no exam was preformed because there were no doctor notes in my medical record that I watched the receptionist copy straight from their files. I swear this place is a scam, if you decide to take your chances here, then I recommend that you never drop off because the doctor won’t examine a patient unless then owner is there.

So I just arrived here for my dogs appointment to get her vaccinated. I explained to the nice woman Carmen on the phone that my dog had all of her vaccines which were up in July, however I had moved and wanted to find a closers vet. Also my dog was out of heartworm pills and would need an exam. Carmen told me all this was fine and I scheduled my appointment. So I get here and this rude curly haired girl named Bertina, is at the desk and gives me a pretty pay invoice for $115.00. This included an exam, heartworm, and fecal occult testing. But here is the thing: all these are included with the vaccine package which only costs $103.00. So this girl is charging me a la carte for these items. When I asked for an explanation as she was just going to have me sign and tell me nothing, she gets an attitude. She tells me my dog is up on her vaccines so why would we give them to her again? Therefore she is only giving my dog what she doesnt have. Now it is April 20. I do not believe my dog getting her vaccines 2 months and 15 days early is gonna do her any harm. However, what truly upsets me is that you did not have the decency to discuss any of this with me as the pet owner and then you try to blame it on me stating you did not have the pet records when the appointment was made. Ill call again when Carmen is here and try to speak with someone sensible. Hopefully then I can update this review. However I will have no more dealings with this Bertina girl. She needs to learn some manners and respect for.peoples time and money.

Mainstreet Veterinarians far exceeds my expectations when it comes to care for myself, my children and my pets. When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter I was told by my gynecologist that I had a UTI which I had never had before. They put me on a an antibiotic and after taking just the first pill I started feeling ill. The next day I went back to the gynecologist and they told me I had bacterial vaginosis not a UTI (it tested negative). I immediately stopped taking the antibiotic and headed straight to Mainstreet where Dr. Moorehead provided me with NRT and nutrition. Within a matter of hours I was feeling better and I took the nutrition program for a week. When I went back to my gynecologist they tested me and I was completely cured of bacterial vaginosis. When I mentioned this to the gyno she was completely pleased with my choice to treat this naturally. My dog had a skin problem and Dr. Moorehead was able to get him to stop biting himself and his skin with nutrition and diet changes. He was a much happier pet. I have also been back to Mainstreet several times to treat myself for the flu and when my children have been ill. I will continue to go to Mainstreet because I know that what Dr. Moorehead is doing is treating the problem and not just masking the symptoms. I highly recommend it and would have it no other way!
