I want to update this review to reflect the latest experience I had after I made this initial 1 star review.. That same afternoon I had a call from the nurse manager apologizing for my experience. No excuses. Just a genuine apology. She expressed how upset Dr Shore was that this had happened to me and asked that I give them a chance to make it right. At that time I didnt accept the offer but the apology I accepted and thanked her for calling. She reached out again the next day to me on behalf of Dr Shore. Now Feeling like My health was a priority to them, I set up an appointment and agreed to give the practice another shot. I just let the office after meeting with Dr Shore and I felt like he genuinely did, in fact, care very much that I was treated the way I was and wanted to help me feel better as well. That went a long way with me. So, while I wont remove the original review, I did want to increase my rating and update my comments. Well done , Dr. Shore. You and your nurse manager turned this situation around. I appreciate that very much. Original post...... I am normally not the "review" type. I read them. I usually ignore the best and worst review and believe most of whats somewhere in the middle. But I never write them myself. Today, however, I am making an exception. After driving over an hour in morning traffic from near Athens to Lawrenceville I arrive 6 minutes late for my 7:45 appointment and Rachel (nurse practitioner) refuses to see me. Never mind the fact that I am kept waiting over an hour every time I go see them....6 minutes.....really ? I even explained I am out of medicine and the traffic was horrible. Needless to say they just lost a patient. Not that they care at all. I will be going to a practice that values my well being more than 6 minutes. I am a relatively new patient here and each of my 4 experiences here were so much less than they should have been. I kept trying to give it a chance. But today proved to me I mean nothing to them. So... on to a more caring physician I go.

We have had a problem with the office staff in the past but this most recent one tops it all. My husbands Dr asked him to see Dr Arkins again for some new developments in his condition. When I called to schedule the appointment I was told he needed bloodwork before seeing Dr Arkin. I talked in length with the scheduler what he needed looked at and what bloodwork he needed in addition to whatever Dr Arkin ordered. My husband is on dialysis, can not drive and I have to take him to his Dr appointments in a wheelchair that I keep in my trunk. Granted he is a very hard stick and they had 5 people stick him 6 times and left many bruises but then to find out they were not even drawing for what he needed. They told us we had to talk to the office manager because they could not do anything. Becky the office manager was very rude and obnoxious about the issue. Told me we could get an order from our doctor and go to quest. I am 62 working and have take time off to take him to his doctors appointments. Becky told me that was LIFE!! Becky called two days before our appointment with Dr Arkin to tell us that Dr Arkin had dismissed my husband as a patient due to the incident the week before. Leaving a message on our home phone was not good enough she hunted me down on my cell phone and acted like she wanted a confrontation which I did not give her. I told my husbands Drs office what had happened and they will no longer refer patients to this group and have referred us to a new office. I can not believe that this practice would continue to allow their office to treat patients the way they do. I have read other reviews and see we are not the first and probably not the last to have this treatment.

UPDATE: They called and offered to see me the next day. I was late again leaving work from downtown at 3pm but this time I was able to be seen by my doctor. The bad reviews are accurate. I should have paid attention to them. My PCP referred me to Dr Odubesan. He is great! I have had the pleasure of seeing him 2-3 times but getting someone on the phone at the office or getting someone to return your call is difficult. I called several times and left at least 2 messages for an emergency appointment over the course of 2 weeks. NO ONE returned my call. I finally got someone and advised that I was pregnant and that my OB had serious concerns about my thyroid. Cathy or Pathy I think was a lab tech there and managed to get me an appointment and confirmed that she had received my lab results from my OB. My appointment was at 3pm and I got there as quickly as I could the next day considering that it is not close to me. Despite the fact that I had to leave work and that I am 5 months pregnant, they turned me away because I was 20 minutes late. Agreed I was late but it took me forever to get the appt, I took time away from work that I didnt have, and I have a high risk pregnancy. I am trying to keep my job, my insurance, and my baby but they didnt care. Amber at the front said I needed to reschedule and never checked with anyone to see if an exception could be made considering the circumstances or if something might open up within the next hour. Not all the staff is terrible but there are definitely some people there who just dont care.

Positives Knowledge - Some of the experienced Doctors are very knowledgeable. Dealt with Dr.Odugbesan & Dr,Arkin - very professional and knowledgeable Opportunities To Improve 1. Completeness of Care - The surgeon notified a doctor about a surgery. As a Patient, I left the Physician Asst voicemail (2 weeks before surgery and 4 days before surgery), with questions about allergies to typical medications, and follow up appointments - but NEVER heard back. Should not the PA or some else in the office be proactive about helping a patient schedule follow up appointments once notified by a surgeon. 2. Returning of phone calls - Voice mail has been saying our systems are being upgraded, and we will return your call within 24-48 hours. But once, I got a call 6 days later about making an appointment. In the meantime, I had already driven 45mins one way to the office and made the appointment as it was important for me. Only once was a hand written note returned in 2 days, else ... 3. Appointment Scheduling - Good luck. They are booked out months ahead, and even if there is an urgent need (like follow up after surgery) you will need to wait ! The doctors are very knowledgeable. But if you have an urgent need or are expecting proactive care and helpful staff (beyond the experienced doctors), then dont count on this practice - look outside. If its status quo endocrine care, with peridic visits, then this place is great. I only wish life did not have medical emergencies or urgencies !
