The staff will sit in the break room when you are in dire need and the head nurse wont say anything to them. Theyll come in with full hair bonnets and talk about residents behind their back, fully violating HIPPA. Then they will all you to do things that are far out of your scope of profession that you arent trained for cause they dont want to do work. They would rather a volunteer who isnt protected by workmans comp do everything, especially dangerous or the disgusting things that just come with being a CNA. They also bully the patients if they dont act a certain way and wont listen when a patient says something like "stop", "no", "go away" or "I (physically) cant". Theyll pull out their phones, sit on your grandmas need and just text or watch Maury. Theyll force your grandma to watch Maury too as they use her television and then dont change the channel as they leave. If you are forced to decide between putting your loved ones here or death. Very reluctantly choose to allow your loved one to die a merciful death. I already know someone who is definitely calling the ombudsman on this place.

Avalon is doing great things for the residents that reside there and the community. New management in the past few years has over hauled the processes and policies for the better. They are even opening an outdoor courtyard this year for the residents of the dementia unit.

Food has improved immensely. Associates and Therapy staff did an excellent job!!
