I have taken two of my animals here (one cat, one dog) and have seen 3 different vets in the office. Since moving to the South Loop a year ago, its definitely the most convenient office, but I would rather rent a car and go to a better vet than continue wasting my money there. My first experience was with my cat who was having some elimination issues. The vet at Burnham insisted it was a behavioral issue and told me to look online for some remedies, so we tried various techniques. I knew it was a medical issue and after going back again (this time I insisted it was a medical issue) she received x-rays and found out her intestines were clogged (and had been for months at this point). The problem continued, so I went back and asked to see a different vet, he made a joke of the whole issue and again recommended I look online for some answers. Recently we went in on short notice due to a horrible cough our dog had. We saw a new vet since we were so displeased with the first two. Again, we were told to go onto You Tube to look for remedies. This was the final straw and we will not be going back. Banfield (at Petsmart) is just down the street. I would highly discourage anyone from going to Burnham. They charge outrageous fees and are not professional. Additionally, most of the front desk staff are rude and dont know what they are doing.

If I could give this place a -100 I would! I gave them a good review a couple months back because their lady vet had done such a good job with my bulldog but I had an emergency today with my cat going into labor and the receptionist was beyond rude her name was Lara! Dr. Miller was the vet in today and he told them to tell me that he doesnt deal with breeding issues and to call somewhere else! What kind of response is that?! This is my normal vet office and you are not even giving me suggestions and saying you dont deal with breeding issues?! I am not a breeder my cat got pregnant and you are a vet you are supposed to help and have training for all animals isn t that what you went to school for?! Or are you just winging it?! What a joke I will never return here again and suggest you dont take your pets here! You go to a vet for help not to be turned away. Lara was awful she said we are busy and we are closing at 6 keep in mind it is 3:00pm today. I asked well dont you guys take emergencies or what should I do just give me a suggestion she said "thats what emergency vets in Chicago are there for" thanks you idiot. I am appalled by this doctor and its joke of a receptionist!

I had taken my dog to Burnham Park for over a year and never had any issues. I was always pleased with the work they did. Most recently though, I was really disappointed to find out that my dog had been misdiagnosed / not properly treated for a very severe dental problem. My dog had broken two of his teeth in his crate and I brought him in because I noticed a pink spot on both teeth which based on searching online looked identical to an exposed root. The vet I saw informed me that he "Wasnt concerned" and it was "nothing to worry about". That afternoon I got a second opinion from another hospital who informed me that he did in fact have an exposed root and that it was likely very painful for my dog. After surgery with the new vet they informed me that it was worse than exposed root, and was actually exposed nerve. Im incredibly disappointed in my experience with Burnham Park Animal Hospital. I did really enjoy going there for over a year but after the last experience Im afraid I wont return. My recommendation would be to ask a lot of questions and if you are in doubt, always get a second opinion. Good luck!

You could not find a better vet clinic. Dr. B is a fantastic diagnostician with an amazing team of other vets & staff to back him up. He extended the life of my cat by 4 years and counting. All the other vets said to put him to sleep, but Dr. B researched his very rare disease and offered some new treatments. My kitty is a very happy and active cat thanks to Dr. B. The staff is very considerate and professional. They may be a little pricier than some vets but you pay for the quality of their care. I wouldnt go anywhere else. My other kitty sees Dr. Thomas, shes very skittish and high strung. Dr. Thomas has just the right calming touch for her. Ive never had such a pleasant experience at the vets and he is so incredibly caring, I would trust either doctor with the life of any pet.

The offices are clean, convenient and the staff is always friendly, especially the doctors. It never smells like animals when you go into BPAH and the floors are tidy which is always nice. I really like going here because it is close to my home and its always quiet because you never hear the other animals. I have an English Bulldog that a vet could prescribe almost anything to and I would believe it. Dr. B and Dr. Clack dont try to push any services or medications on you but simply make suggestions. The doctors are very professional and they are also friendly to make you feel at ease about your pets health. I would recommend BPAH to anyone with pets in the area.

Exam rooms and reception areas are always super-clean — even my most timid cat is relaxed here (which has never happened at other vets, and I have the scars to prove it!). Have been coming here for a good handful of years, at this point — pro tip: Dr. Miller is hands-down the best. Most mild-mannered and gentile, soft-spoken and exceptionally engaged. Have seen most/all(?) of the other staff vets over the years… cant say Im a fan of all (and theres a couple Id never go to again)… but Dr. Millers presence keeps up coming back as regular patients.

I started going to Burnham Park Animal Hospital in 2013. They have the kindest vets and staff, everyone is very helpful. I had to put my dog down and Dr. Tara Clack was very supportive throughout the entire process. I have since moved from the South Loop area however still travel South to Burnham for my other pets. Dr. Miller is very helpful and friendly as well. They also go over all charges with you in detail, and do not make you feel nickle and dimed or pressured. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a new vet in the area.

I love Burnham Park Animal Hospital. They are always very pleasant when I call to schedule an appointment, and when I have an appointment it is never a long wait. Dr. Clack is my dog Titans doctor and she is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. If Dr. Clack is not available, I fully trust any doctor there, as I believe I have seen them all. Titan had his teeth cleaned, and although I was nervous about the procedure, everything went well and his teeth were perfect. I would highly recommend this hospital for your pets needs.
