I feel the need to write about my experience with North Ave Animal Hospital, specifically with Dr. Roman Tkaczuk. For several years I have taken my two dogs to a particular vet, whom I trusted very much. However, I always hesitated making appointments because I knew it would be expensive and I would receive a lecture about my inability to have procedures done that I couldn’t afford. I would inevitably leave the office feeling guilty about being a horrible pet owner. I then went to North Ave Animal Hospital. Dr. Roman listed to my concerns, quoted me a fair price for a procedure, and reassured me that the dental procedure my dog needed would certainly improve her life and not ruin it as I had been previously led to believe. He was so calm with my dog and explained the process so thoroughly that I knew my dog was in great hands. In addition, I have never seen an office staff so friendly and accommodating as the ones at North Ave Animal Hospital. All of them clearly love their jobs. My dog is now at home recovering and Dr. Roman is my new vet for both my dogs. I’m so glad to have found North Ave Animal Hospital highly recommend Dr. Roman.

Ive taken my dog to North Ave Animal Hospital since I got him in 2006. Weve had nothing but exceptional medical care but more importantly, warm welcomes and lots of petting, cuddles and treats for my dog. Ive never had to wait for any length of time for our appointments and when weve needed "sick" or "semi-emergency" appointments, weve been able to be seen right away. The front desk staff and the vet techs know my dog and always bend down to give him cuddles. Recently, as hes gotten to be 12 years old, my dog has been losing weight and we understand that we may lose him soon. Weve been into the hospital frequently and on the phone with the vet even more frequently. The entire staff has been informative but also so sympathetic and understanding. Theyve been patient with my endless phone calls with questions and concerns. They make sure to offer me a tissue when the tears come and always give our dog, Dublin, a huge hug on the way out. I would highly recommend North Ave Animal Hospital.

Dr. Roman, Dr. Aldridge, Dr. Kritzman and Dr. Cherrick are wonderful vets who incredibly knowledgeable, pleasant, and experienced. With four pets we are "frequest customers" and the front desk staff (Nohemy, Mary Alice, and Jessie) are always so sweet and helpful. The vet techs Stevie, Max, Christina, Jamie, and Jose are great with handling our pets and taking initial questions about each visit. I always recommend them to everyone - Dr. Roman was the first and only vet who was able to handle a previously abandoned cat I had who was VERY agressive - Dr. Roman handled him with care and knew how to keep him from getting upset or hurt. They are also very mindful of the financial aspects of caring for your pet, and offer different options when possible to help your wallet. My husband who had been to a vet in the suburbs with his last pet was incredibly impressed with Dr. Roman. We love North Avenue Animal Hospital!

I have been going to North Ave. Animal Hospital for a year now for my two cats and could not be more pleased with Dr.s Aldridge & Hammer as well as the techs and staff. They are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. I remember taking my siamese cat, Geoff in to see one of the male Drs (because he was the only one in) and because Geoff had a lump on his neck. After a thorough examination it turned out that it was just a reaction to a shot. I expected to be charged for a visit, but the Dr. told me not to worry about it. I have had experiences with unfriendly vet techs at other hospitals in the past and can say that the employees at North Ave Animal hospital are upbeat, friendly and take their jobs seriously. They are the face of the hospital and they act like it. Looking forward to a continued relationship with the folks at North Ave. Animal Hospital.

So.....Its obvious that this animal hospital is does not care about its patients, its there just for the money. I just had my follow up with Marie, the office manager. And she was very supportive of her staffs terrible service and seemed to side with the Dr.s misdiagnosis. I can not say this enough, DO NOT GO TO THIS VET!!! I know the location is awesome, but its not worth it. They completely looked over major health concerns. Go to family pet, they took their time, and really inspected the cat, catching the painful bacterial infection in his ear and eye infection which was clear at first glance. The Dr. from North Ave Animal Hospital was sweet, but she choose to over look major health concerns and thats very scary. Avoid this place at all costs, otherwise it will cost you in the end!!!!!

I bring my 3 beloved rescues here and just love the care and attention they give them. Being that my animals are rescues theyre not always as trusting with other people and other animals. They are accommodating, get us into a room quickly, patient with them when theyre finicky, and overall so loving. The staff are so friendly and the prices are more than reasonable and I dont have to travel far for exceptional care. We love all the Drs at North Ave. Dr Roman, Dr Cherrick, Dr Aldridge, and Dr Kritzman are all incredible doctors in their own way! The receptionists and techs are also just as awesome! Great staff, happy atmosphere, and my pups are happy and HEALTHY. Thank you north ave, from Nena, Hefty, and Doobie.

I am a new pet owner, and I recently adopted a stray, or should I say he adopted us. He had some issue with his poop, so I choose this vet due to its awesome location. But the douche at the front desk made my experience as a new pet owner miserable. I thought this was only a 1st impression, and didnt want to give up, but after continued interaction and nasty attitudes Ive decided to switch vets. Overall my visit with the Dr. was very nice, but her office staff made the whole experience not worth it. Sorry Doc....

For over 20years I have relied upon Dr. Romans acute diagnostic abilities to treat any number of stray kitties, some in very poor conditions, using non-invasive treatments whenever possible. He has a conservative approach to meds and the use of diagnostic tools that is refreshing and economic compared to other vets I have used. Hes emphatic about diet and preventative care for your pet. Ive had feeble little cats thrive and enjoy good health under his care. Dr. Roman is great for my pets!

I had a very good experience from North Animal Hospital. The staff is friendly and the place is very clean. Dr. Kritzman took care of my dogs anal gland that developed into a cyst. I was impressed that she followed up 2 days later to see how Minnie was doing. Plus I am taking her in for a follow up visit at no extra cost. This will be my go to vet when I am visiting Chicago. I know I will get expert professional care. Bonus, they do have available parking.
