Dr. Mitchell, our first vet, has left but we still wouldnt take our kitties anywhere else. We brought our first cat here 2 years ago and since then weve adopted another cat from a shelter; I brought her to VCA at the shelters recommendation but regretted not spending the extra money and taking her to Jewell in the first place. We took both kitties in today for an exam, vaccinations, and itchy ears plaguing our eldest. Our new little girl was... well, a handful. Staff had to break out the elbow-length gloves and wrap her up like a burrito just to check her temperature. Throughout the entire ordeal, everyone that came in and out of the room was professional and compassionate towards our bratty babies -- especially Melissa, who listened patiently to our concerns and even though my cat tried to maul her, you could tell she really loved animals. She handled them both like a pro even with all the squirming and hissing. She also told us upfront what vaccination would cost what - I had a problem years ago, with another cat at another vet, that obscured their prices and looked down on me for not getting a rabies vaccine for my indoor cat of 17 years of age. No such contempt here! Dr Jewell, who I had never met before, saw the end of the exam and was an absolute pleasure to meet. He identified the problem with our kittys ears in a second and we traded pleasant stories of our pets back and forth; a nice departure from the "get em in get em out" rush of some other practices. I know our cats did not enjoy the experience, to say the least, but it was so nice to see such kind, caring people fuss over our animals. Kudos also to the ladies at the reception desk, who were super friendly to us and ours. If you are looking for a place to bring your beloved pets, you can trust Jewell to take good care of them!!

Tl; dr: Do NOT take your pet here if he/she is senior! Dr. Czekala will shrug any solutions off due to age and your cat might need intense treatment later! Last year, my fiancé and I took our two cats aged 13 and 18 to see Dr. Czekala. We were looking for guidance to ensure our pets health sincerely they are both up there in age. Dr. Czekala looked over our 13 year old domestic longhair and casually said that she had infected teeth, but did not offer any solution or recommendation, nor did she explain the hell she would have to deal with a year later. She pretty much shrugged her off. Now our poor Rosie will likely have several teeth removed, when its possible she could have had an antibiotic before having such a hard time even eating paté. :( Her handling of my little, harmless siamese was unbelievable. Never did I see a vet hold down a cat that way- and shes little, only about 5 lbs and not difficult to handle; she loves being cradled in peoples arms. This was totally unnecessary and Id never seen my cat more upset in my life. She made matters worse when she concluded that she may need to have her heart checked out for a possible murmur, but she again shrugged it off saying "its your decision." On the subject of her teeth getting cleaned she said that "at this point, I wouldnt bother" with the older cat. I remember this word for word because I basically broke down in tears after that. Who says that?! After what I found with Rosie at our new vet, I am now doing a full check on my siamese, because yes she is still alive and kicking. Beyond disappointed and furious with the experience, and Im kicking myself for not getting a second opinion. I can only say now Ive found a team of vets (yes, Rosie needs a TEAM of vets now) that cares.

My dog had horrible diarrhea for several days which turned bloody. She couldnt keep anything down, even water. I feared the worst (cancer) as she is older, and so I took her in. I broke down into tears in the exam room and Dr. Jewell came in and comforted me and proceeded with a full detailed exam. He found bacteria and hospitalized her. She got catheterized with fluids, anti-diarrhea meds, pain meds and antibiotics. There was a round of tests and she ended up having gastroenteritis, colitis, with a touch of pancreatitis. Dr. Jewell even went in late at night to check on her, and thats when he gave her plasma. He even told me he said a prayer for her! The next day he said she was doing much better, kept food down, and was released with meds and special intestinal food to feed her. The meds they gave her said she wouldnt have a bowel movement in 2-3 days, and low and behold she did so and shes getting better. Its the most beautiful bowels Ive ever seen! I took her back two days later for a check up w/ Dr. Mitchel, and he tested her lipace enzymes again. They went way back down to normal, so no more fears of pancreatitis, thank goodness. He also gave her an exam and made sure everything was normal and it was. They were all just very nice and treated her wonderfully! Noel, all the nurses, and both Dr. Jewell and Mitchel went over everything with me in detail, were caring, and fixed my girl back up. I am so grateful to them for doing all that they could to help her get better. I cant thank them enough for all they did!If you want "Cadillac Treatment" for your pet and great service, go to Jewell. I have not one complaint. My best wishes to them and much success for years to come!

It was my first visit, and we ended up needing to put my cat down. Even under such an awful circumstance, my experience was wonderful. I could say a lot about it, but I will just leave it to a few points - Clean and comfortable environment Techs were super sweet and helpful. Had us laughing a few times as well, which was appreciated. We saw Dr Kerins, and both her and the tech that helped my cat were WONDERFUL - start to finish. When they finally discovered what was wrong, she (Dr) broke the news to me directly, but gently. She answered all my questions and spoke to me like she was a friend, not a doctor. Euthanasia rooms are private and have a nice couch. They took care of the financial business before the procedure, so we could leave right after. Affordable overall (office visit was $65). We had planned to do some expensive bloodwork on my cat, but when they found the issue, they decided to forgo and being her back in to us. They couldve easily taken the panel and charged me for it. Overall, really happy, and should I find a new pet, I will definitely come back.

Im not one to write reviews! But i absolutely love this place!!! They all are so friendly from the minute you walk in! While waiting you can choose from refreshments if youd like. The rooms are so cute and cozy decorated to resemble a living room!! Which i absolutely love!!! Since vets can be stressful for dogs, especially mine hes a bulldog and gets nervous. They help ease everything with treats and peanut butter for your furry friend! Also offered me something to drink. the vet finally came to examine my dog and treat him for his ear infection he and his tech did an amazing job handling my dog! They definitely love what they do there!!!! And the animals they see!!! I have been to shady vet offices before where i didnt believe a word they were saying. So this was definitely refreshing. Although im hoping i dont have to be there often this is for sure where i will continue to go.
