BRING YOUR PET HERE FOR PROZAC not MEDICAL CARE! The price of care is the same here as the major 24 hour animal hospitals in Chicago -- the only difference is the office exam cost which is $40 more at a 24 hour vet with experience and necessary equipment on site for diagnostics. Just know there are better places to take your pet when it is actually sick. I took my dog there on multiple occasions because it was near our home. I had a great experience with Dr. Danny before. ( He no longer works there) I brought my dog because she was vomiting continuously and had abdominal pain. I thought it was a tummy upset. The vets here lack experience -- as in new grads, which is now very apparent and wound up deadly for my 4 year old dog. At the time, I was obviously in dire need of help from a professional, Dr. Christina Herppich pointed out all of her symptoms and what condition my dogs health was actually in -- although she was highly ambiguous about treatment options she did explicitly tell me my dog was going to be septic, she was in critical condition, her WBC is supposed to be 10,000-20,000 and she had less than 100, and that they could give me at home treatment but it probably wouldnt work and that we were probably going to have the death conversation in three days. And of course she mentioned the rounded edges of my dogs spleen and a mass she pointed to on the x-ray. She was highly ambiguous about the treatment of the symptoms. Yes. My dog was euthanized. I recently got a copy of her medical records and x -ray and what I read on there did not match what transpired with the new vet Dr. Christina, who mistakenly identified mass effect on left cranial abdomen She did not elaborate on treatment options and because the dog already had sepsis/massive infection I went into a state of panic. Sadly because I was not informed of a best case scenario (G.I. infection, Pancreatitis) or a worst case scenario ( G.i. perforation, tumor/mass, Cancer) I was given symptoms and left to my own devices to believe everything was related and had to be resolved at once. I elected Euthanasia because I basically thought my dogs insides were falling apart. (She also had upper G.I. bleeding Melena - which is digested blood in stool) As a result of what I read on the medical record,it caused me to doubt, I recently did have a radiologist look at the x-ray for peace of mind and he did not mention a mass. His guess was suspected Gastroenteritis +/- Pancreatitis So its quite possible IV fluid, GI protectants and antibiotics could have saved my dogs life and that was never communicated to me but was included on the medical record. Furthermore they offered no apology or responsibility and Dr. Robin Friedman disregarded my complaint for not giving me thorough information on her treatment options by regurgitating the medical records verbatim in an e-mail. It was only upon reading the medical records and seeing the information that had not been communicated that I pieced together the situation. (IV fluids, antibiotics and G.I Protectants may have alone saved my dog!!) So here I am left permanently scarred with the haunting what ifs surrounding the permanent loss of a beloved family member. So again bring your pet here for Prozac not medical care. There are better more experienced and equipped facilities for your pet!

The pros -1. friendly staff 2.nice decor. The cons -1. sub-par level of knowledge of Dr. Friedman, 2. the focus is on the making money for the "shot renewal" and "annual check up" that surprisingly cannot be done without myriad lab tests all of which are done in the clinic. 3. Staff pushes food, drugs and tests as that they mark up and sell. The BIG problem is when a lab test comes up as abnormal -they cannot discuss the medical problem and Dr Friedman uses non-medical terms such as "weird" to describe causes -that I am finding explanations for online while she is talking on the phone. I have seen this drift to mediocrity with other vet practices when their focus shifts to making money and away from caring for the animal. Doctors shift their focus to adding tests and products rthey can sell to you instead of updating their knowledge and skills. What would I recommend for - hmmm, if you want to spend $500 for shot renewals (Petco is better) What I would NOT recommend for - if your pet is sick dont go here, they do not know enough to diagnose.

I have been taking my puppy here since her first shots with the rescue she came from. We are always taken care of by Dr. Jen. The entire staff is so friendly, welcoming and very clearly passionate about animals. They do a great job of keeping you in-the-know through the entire process of your visit. Besides routine needs, I have taken the puppy there for a small skin concern. They gave me plenty of information and options about how to continue without any pressure of choosing. I was well-informed and feeling good about the medications I left with. They even went the extra mile to send out a sample for further analysis just in case, after I agreed. I received two calls from the vet to follow up with the analysis as well as a "hows puppy doing?" phone call. I greatly appreciate their personable touch, thorough handling and love they show towards my dog. Ive seen nothing but the same with other clients while Im there. I highly, highly recommend My Vet!

Leaving a different vet after four years and looking for another one that was more convenient. Initial visit was okay with the actual veterinarian and thought that this vet could accommodate my two small dogs under 25lbs. WRONG. They started pushing for multiple unnecessary shots and vaccines. Almost killed my dog! After four more visits, the bed side manors of the front desk were to appalling, unprofessional, and not very accommodating to remain a customer. I dont know if they are interns or if they just dont care. Never Again.

Ive used a lot of vet clinics over the years with all my pets, and this clinic is exceptional. They are very accommodating and everyone there seems to genuinely care. I have 2 senior dogs and theyve been wonderful with them. They always follow up with phone calls after visits, and they even follow up after my appointments with specialists at other clinics that they referred my dog to. They are very attentive in that way and always make sure that they are kept up to date with my pets well being. I really appreciate that!

I absolutely love this vet. They have taken care of my 2 cats like they are their own. All of the staff is really wonderful! They have been beyond patient and thorough with every visit...they let me ask 100 questions and are not pushy with tests. After all is said and done, they still call to check up until you are fully confident the health issue is resolved. Also, they let me stop in to get OTC type meds for my boys without all the hoopla of a vet visit (saves me $$). I really will not take my kitties anywhere else.

Stop reading, use this vet. Weve been with Robin for over 10 years and the care our dog receives exceeds our expectations at every turn, on each visit, and every single phone call. Their staff is highly trained, and exceptionally caring for the health of our dog and frankly my wallet. No unnecessary testing, always follow up calls, and only sound practical advice alongside the finest of medical treatments. All animals should be so lucky to visit this hospital when they need one.
