THIS PLACE IS A FINANCIAL RIP OFF!!!!! Rehab visits are generally scheduled for 45 minutes. They charge $550 for 45 minutes so beware of how much you are going to have to pay before you select this place. These charges are more than my attorney charges, more than my medical specialist charges and I thought they made a lot of money. Of course RIC does not discuss costs with you prior to attending rehab appointments. In fact they wait several months to bill you so that they have you "hook, line and sinker", before you know how much they are gouging you! I have had two surgeries in the last two years and went to other rehab facilities that charged a little over $100/ visit (thats PER VISIT not for how much time they spend with you. RIC charges by the amount of time THEY SAY they spent with you. By the time you get billed, youre blindsided because you didnt know you should have kept records of the time spent there. IF YOU DO GO THERE DONT GET INVOLVED IN ANY EXTRANEOUS "CHIT-CHAT" BECAUSE YOU WILL GET CHARGED FOR THAT TIME..........SO BEWARE, BEWARE, BEWARE!!!!! YOU BETTER HAVE GOOD INSURANCE THAT HAS RIC "IN NETWORK" if you choose to go there and then still be prepared to pay a lot of money out of pocket. My 20% copay for the PT that was done at RIC is ridiculously high compared to previous rehab experiences at similar reputable physical therapy companies (mine previous experience was through IBJI in Glenview; who charged what in contrast to RIC was a reasonable fee). AND RIC didnt even have all the rehab equipment that IBJI had. I WOULD NEVER HAVE CHOSEN TO GO TO RIC HAD I KNOWN HOW MUCH THEY GOUGE PATIENTS AND THE INSURANCE INDUSTRY IN GENERAL. THEY PLAY ON THIS AD THAT THEY HAVE BEEN RATED #1 IN THE COUNTRY SINCE THE MID 1990S TO GET YOU SUCKED IN. The rehab there was no better than IBJI in Glenview!

Be aware that this place will bill you in a way that ultimately cost the patient alot of extra money. Im not naive, certainly doctors and physical therapy is never cheap. But this place bills you in 2 parts. Half the bill is for the "hospital incidentals", which they explain to me as facility usage fee. Unfortunately this fee is not covered by insurance until you have met your deductable. What does this mean to you? It means that you pay alot more out of pocket than you should. My initial visit should have cost $35.00 total using my copay. It ended up costing me $180.00. Fortunately, I went elsewhere for therapy, or I would have gotten burned for thousands. The interesting thing is that I called the rehab institute before my visit to make sure that they take my insurance and that my $35.00 copay would cover the visit. The employee said they take my insurance and the cost should be covered..LIARS. Go to a place that is not a hospital, or be prepared to pay up. Is RIC physical therapy the best in Chicago? Probably not, but it could be the most expensive. RUN AWAY

This place was life changing for me. Im a teen with severe chronic back pain. I was pretty much unable to function before coming to RIC. When I went to go see Dr. Press, I had already missed tons of school. He was probably the best doctor I had ever seen. He was very kind and listened to how much pain I was in. We decided to try physical therapy for a while. My therapist was awful. She kept pushing me when I was crying. When that didnt work, he sent me to the pain clinic at RIC. This program was more than amazing. All the doctors and therapists I had were top notch. I learned how to do a bunch of skills that helped my pain. I got to meet other teens who had pain like me. It made me not only feel better, but I felt like I was understood. I didnt have to deal with the rude remarks I get at school. Now I wouldnt say my pain is better, but Im good at managing it by using techniques I learned and pacing. Now I hope to be able to come back as a Rehab doctor and help others. Thank you RIC.

I had been in pain for 10 plus years. I always wondered what was wrong with me. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Pain. I went to RIC. It was a 4 week course but it made a Whole New outlook on my pain. They have the Very Best Doctors, PT, OT. And All of the Employees are Amazing. Thanks to RIC they have showed me how to cope and handle the Pain, IF IT COMES BACK. I can Finally say I am Tired, NOT IN PAIN. RIC has changed my Life. I can now enjoy life the way it is supposed to be lived. I would Recommend RIC to anyone that has Chronic Pain. All I can say is I AM GLAD I FOUND OUT ABOUT THEM, Please dont hesitate, If you have Chronic Pain Dont Wait. RIC can Help You If You Will Let Them. Ask for Dr. Calisoff. He is the BEST.

As I am sitting here waiting for my son to get meds I am pissed. Their computers went down 2 hours ago so he cant get pain meds he needs. They have no back up plan or if they do they do not know how to implement it. I can not believe this is happening. I expected so much more from a place that had Northwestern tagged with it. How can a facility of any type and especially a health care facility operate like this. Unacceptable!!!!!

Not possible to make appointment. Rude and unprofessional stuff. I have Blue Crosse PPO insurance, that not required referral but been told until I get primary care doctor that will refer me I will not be able to see any doctor there. And this will take probably several weeks in order for me to make appointment in any case. Havent seen doctor yet in RIC but now wonder if this is good place to go for treatment.

Though you will be made to sign an acknowledgment of 2 fees (physician fee & facility fee) what they dont tell you is how much! I spent 10 minutes in an overheated (and slightly smelly) examination room and just the facility fee was over $175. The separate physician bill was LESS than the "Office Visit" bill. Ask before you book an appointment.

My mom has been here twice as an inpatient stay and from doctors, nurses, ptcs, everyone has been great. Huge shout outs to the therapy teams: physical, occupational and speech. They had a translator at all times when she had therapy and there was a sense of genuineness that is unmistakable in their care.

A premier medical and research establishment. Recently, theyve been successful in piloting bionic limbs for those without. A true breakthrough and nod to the future, expect great milestones in the advancement of medical research and rehabilitation to come from here.

I spent 4 weeks at the center, I have extensive nerve damage, I found all of the therapists and doctors to be prompt and professional. Some of the treatments seemed strange , but were effective as a whole. All I can say is you get out what you put in .
