Absolutely Horrible! Zero stars!! They need a minus star! This place is the worse care facility I have ever come in contact with ever! My younger brother was transferred here from Trinity Hospital, when he arrived he was greeted with filthy bed linen, dirty pillows and unprofessional staff. My brother did not feel safe nor did he trust that he would receive the best care and He was right. I had him contact his case manager so we can get him transferred and that was the very last straw! That CM, Brenda, was the worse excuse for a case manager of i ever seen one. She was rude, belligerent, had a very bad disposition about himself and did not want to do her job!!! She would not send the referral for him to transfer to another facility for nothing she wanted him to stay in that filthy ugly place and Lord forbid if someone asked her to do her job!!! I had to get my brother out of there and I just got him discharged.... Wet even told the doctor about how dirty it was and he said he couldnt do nothing about that.... Really???? Are you crazy!!! They had thid poor man with an amputation sitting in the hallway laying on the wall in a wheelchair sleep.., I have no idea why they had him sitting there and exposed in the Infectious disease department, lord knows how long he was there. The staff was very unprofessional and had bad attitude, was Hearst making fun of patients hollering out in pain and their situations..... It stunk so bad in there it was just horrible ..... Please. Do NOT send your loved ones here and please do not let them transfer you here! They are not updated looks like The Bates hotel and that Michael Myers is hiding under the dirty bed! Old dusty TVs with only 5 working channels. Nurses dont respond to calls!!! I didnt let my brother stay in there 24hours...They are a true story from the Twilight Zone!

After being in the hospital for 1 month in Dyer I still was not able to care for myself. I needed a place to go for a few more weeks to build my strength and become more mobile. My Drs. recommended Kindred. I was very anxious about leaving Dyer ( which had become my comfort zone). My anxiety was completely unfounded. I was made to feel at ease, safe, and comfortable by CeCe and Jackie ad soon as I arrived at Kindred. Ashley and Daniele from Occupational and Physical therapy have been wonderful with me! They have truly made me stronger and more confident and ready to go home tomorrow. The nurses and other staff have gone above and beyond to keep me comfortable. Aurelia with wound care was gentle and amazing with me. My only complaint is wound care was never available during the day. Thank you to everyone that made my 3 weeks at Kindred a pleasant and positive experience. GOD BLESS!

Kindred Hospital has its challenges and yes, you MUST be present to ensure your loved one is receiving the proper care. Overall the care my mother received was good. I was very engaged in her care and therefore expected only the best. There were many Angels that helped with her healing, care, support, thank you to below named Nurses, Respiratory Techs and Patient Aids. These Angels names are: Cash(RT), LaKokie (Nurse),Connie (Aide), Jessica (Aide), Eboni (Nurse),Barbara (RT), Dan(RT), Virginia (RT),Henry(Nurse),Nene(Aide) ,Ivanna(Nurse),Erwin(Nurse),Renata (Nurse). Thank you all for your help, support and care for my mother and my family. You may not feel appreciated but I appreciate ALL that you did for my mom! Thank you!!

I agree with the person below!!! The wait time for call lights is 30-60 minutes and many of the staff members need customer service skills! Insead of wanting to help the patient get better, they give them med to keep them quiet. Just this evening, I heard another patients family member complaining to the charge nurse regarding the same concerns my family has. We are EAGERLY awaiting a transfer to another hospital. The social workers are not helpful at all and DO NOT return calls. Our family is unhppy. There are some diamonds in the rough....Ashley, Stella, Connie a few more (who are amazing), but not many more. Enough is enough. DO NOT RECOMMENED TO ANYONE!

My mother recently was admitted to Kindred and all I can say is wonderful things about the staff and care. I Love them! Staff was friendly and attentive to my mothers needs. Located in St Margarets hospital found the hospital very clean. Food was ok, but its the care I was impressed with. Rapid response to any concerns. Call lights answered promptly. For obvious reasons my mother was there for a serious medical condition and was amazed when she was able to go home after her stay. Also, thank you to the therapy team, top notch. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! I would recommend this hospital to anyone.

Everything you have read is true & worse. The staff is hit & miss. I had some drs, nurses & CNAs who were great but some I never saw during the whole shift. While on dialysis, I coded blue, with 2 people monitoring me! Also, if you have to go there, keep a close watch on your meds. They constantly got the scripts wrong because they dont know how to use the computer! The patient advocate is your best friend - Id still be there if it wasnt for her. The doctor refused to release me even though the other doctors, OT and PT staff said I was good to go. She called the CEO and I was released the next day...

Im a caregiver for a patient at the facility(private duty care) and Im here 7 days a week, the entire staff is always asking do you need anything ,can i get or help you with anything, trying to ween off vent isnt easy but in addition to the care i give,he received speech, and physical therapy, the Doctors come in every day to check and make sure everything is okay. They dont have many tv stations, rooms are old, but the care of the staff is Good.

The social workers were not helpful at all. The nurses would see the light on and say they would be back snd never returned. I would not recommend this place yo anyone. They welcome you eith open arms but once in they dont treat you the same way. I would say it was 75% and 25% the 75 % are the ones who didnt treat you like they cared.

would rather keep patient drugged then give adequate care. made promises to improve care but never kept. Staffs response to call button slow or ignored. All in all a frightening and depressing experience. Patient removed for neglect after one week transferred to excellent facility.

Their response to the call button is horrible. Your are lucky they come in after 10-15 minutes. The rooms are very old and uninviting. They give you 5 stations on their old TVs. If you need help go to the nurses station, thats where they all sit. No one cares!

The folks here at KINDRED, Hammond, St. Margaret Hospital are the most welcoming. They greet ME daily, offering assistance with kindness. I feel like a family member whose welfare and healing are of paramount concern, like a FAMILY (

I apologize for what I said about your hospital but I did have to complain four times. There were critical procedures that werent followed correctly and I was unhappy.
