The practice only seems interested in pushing products on patients. I have been a patient for a number of years. The worst part of each visit has always been the high pressure tactics to sell you glasses - before you leave. And, it comes in the middle of your consultation with the Doctor which, Im sure, is a practice management tactic right out of the 1970s. Anyway, I have said no in the past (of course saying it multiple times in the same visit due to constant pushing) but decided to buy prescription sunglasses this year as I was there and a bit busy. And, even with a $150 credit from my insurance for frames, the cost was still over $300. The first time the glasses came in, the tinting had light and dark streaks. The office person saw it quite clearly but, first, asked if I had left them out in the hot sun - which causes this problem. So, first message: this is your fault - not ours. But, we resolved this and and she sent them back to the lab for new lenses. Very simple. Well, the second pair comes in and, again, have spotty tinting creating light and dark spots. I went back to the practice and the same office person saw the streaks again. First, of course, was asked if I left them out in the hot sun - same answer as before - no. I didnt want to argue the silly logic of sunglasses being in the hot sun so I let it go... I let her know that I would not want another pair - to take them back. At that point, I got the "must talk to supervisor who is not in" speech. After some back and forth with the lab that recommended "cleaning them" she claimed they were fixed and ready to wear. But, I rejected them so she went back for another 30 minutes or so. When she returned, I was told that, due to insurance issues, they cannot take them back - they will only send them in (to the same lab) to have lenses replaced. No refund whatsoever. At that point, I was done and took my glasses and left. Back at my office, I called my vision insurance company (VSP) which promptly resolved the issue - in no more than 5 minutes. She apologized as their lab is the one that made the lenses. Very easy - unlike the treatment at Dr. Reiffs practice. As the saying goes - no good deed goes unpunished. I gave in to the pressure to buy glasses knowing that I could get them cheaper and better elsewhere. So, go to Dr Reiff if you want to overpay for glasses that they will not stand behind. But, I would recommend finding another practice - like I am going to do now...

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this office. I have been wearing glasses for 10 years and have never had such a poor experience. The doctor was unprofessional. I was his last appointment and due to that it felt rushed. Not only was it completely ignored that I wanted contacts but a health check was overlooked. For the past 10 years my previous doctor has found and taken a picture of a freckle in my eye. Dr. Reiff couldnt find it and gave up but not without telling me that if there is a freckle it is important to check it every year. Which is why I had told him I had one, he did not successfully locate. After I went in to get the glasses I had picked, they do not adjust your glasses to your face like many other offices. She told me my ears are extremely uneven and that one side wouldnt rest on my ear. She even pretended to bend the arm of the glasses and asked if that helped. I have never experienced such an unprofessional office in any type of doctors office. I will never go back and I urge anyone looking to go to this office to try and find a different doctor. There are much better places to go I promise you that.

Dr. Reiff is a knowledgeable & professional eye doctor. Sadly, I will be looking for a new eye doctor. The front office staff @ Reiff Eye Center is deplorable. When I arrived for my appointment, I was accused of having a balance due from 2 years ago. When I asked them to verify it, because Id actually been overcharged by them 3 times, they "took another look" & realized I was paid in full. I was then told that the visit would not be covered under my insurance. When I told them we had full vision coverage & that I wanted to check my paperwork at home before paying out of pocket, they said no. When I pursued the issue, knowing we had full vision coverage, they "made another call" to find out that I was fully covered. Finally, they tried to insist I purchase contacts from them, rather than online. They insisted there was a law in IL that limited the number of boxes I could buy, which, after speaking w/ the IL Attorney General, is a lie. Ive never met such a rude & unprofessional staff.

I am a patient of Dr. Reiff’s since the 1990s. From the beginning, I have been extraordinarily impressed with the efficiency, excellence and high standard of care, patients receive from Dr. Reiff and his staff. They are the best of the best. In 2013, I had cataract surgery on both my left and right eyes. From the start, the office informed me of everything that was to happen, from the surgical preparation and procedure and what options I had, to insurance charges. The surgeries went extremely well, and Dr. Reiffs work was first-rate. After the surgery, any needs I had were met immediately. I now have better than 20-20 vision and love my new eyesight. I highly recommend Dr. Reiff. You are in great hands with him and his terrific team!

My wife’s and my vision and eye health care has been in Dr. Reiff’s hands for almost eight years and we are very satisfied. Between the two of us we have had three very successful cataract surgeries, an accurate diagnosis and excellent referral for macular pucker surgery on one eye, the successful treatment of glaucoma in two eyes, and the monitoring for any diabetic impact on vision; not to mention multiple eye glass prescriptions from blended bifocals to prescription readers, all perfect the first time. Through all of these, we found Dr. Reiff and his staff to be very professional, competent, helpful and friendly. Would recommend this team to any one needing ophthalmology care.

This was my first visit to Reiff Eye Center. I was pleased with Dr. Reiff and his staff. The exam I had was very thorough and I never was just left "sitting around". I decided to purchase my eye glasses from there & I was not disappointed. Kelly was super nice, helpful & professional. Additionally, I was given a pretty good discount. When I picked up my glasses, they were perfect. The high quality lens I purchased was everything I expected it to be. The lab they use did a very nice job. Good selection of frames too. I have to say, my experience was very good & I would recommend the Reiff Eye Center. Thank You to all involved, Linda Hetterscheid

I have been a patient of Dr. Reiffs for over 20 years. I have always been treated with excellent care. I have an eye condition that requires constant monitoring and had to call him in an emergency situation he is always kind and considerate and knows exactly what to do. His expertise has been a great assest to me. I can not tell you how important it is to have a doctor that really cares. His staff is always friendly and considerate to everyone. I have seen the staff assist older people to the examing rooms many times. Thank you Dr. Reiff and your staff all of you are the best!!! GREAT JOB!!
