Ive always liked Banfield but my recent experience with them was a bit ridiculous. I called in to get my dog his shots and the woman I spoke to on the phone told me that with everything I needed and the new rabies registration and office visit included would amount to $103 total which wound up being an extremely different story once I got there. I drove all the way from Wood River to find out that the total was more like $200.00 even after I got the vet tech to take off all of the extra things that I didnt need the number was still significantly higher than what I had been told over the phone. The girl didnt seem to know too much at all about customer courtesy or what the office actually offered and for what price as she kept forgetting to add in services and charges which I believe had all ready been accounted for in the total. It was an extremely frustrating and confusing experience aside from all of the price changes, I am pregnant the tech declined to help me whatsoever in restraining my dog which is something Ive never seen...she also asked me if I would like to take his rectal temperature???? Enough said I left to take my dog elsewhere.

Worst experience ever! I will NEVER take my dog to a Banfield again. The entire staff is incompetent and try to hard sell you on products and services you dont need. They care more about their profits for the day, rather than the well-being of your pet. I took my dog to have a wound looked at and make sure it was healing properly. When the vet initially suggested pumping her full of medication I declined because she wasnt in any pain. After implying that I was a bad parent if I didnt give her the drugs, I agreed. My dog was so overly medicated that I had to drag, my normally hyperactive puppy, out of the store and carry her to the car. She got home and passed out in the doorway and didnt move for an hour. Since waking up, she has been sick an vomiting non-stop; all because of drugs I didnt want to give her in the first place. I will never put my dog at risk again visiting this place.

15 dollar disposal fee for a broken bloody toenail (yep, still have the bill)? really? I felt emotionally manipulated with almost two hundred dollar fee for a toe nail. But, I was such an emotional mess with the blood and such that I couldnt think well when I was there. It was later, when I could recover that I resented almost two hundred dollar for a bloody toenail. I will never go back. Had I never been such an emotional mess, I wouldnt have agreed to it (but with all their scary scenarios of what would happen if I didnt do this or that)...

We have been taking our multiple pets here since they opened after "pricing issues" with the big one in town. The staff is caring and attentive to the animals and people. Have come to trust this vet and you can tell he really loves animals. Great modern facility. Too many pets for the pet care package except when our old dog was in his last few years. They took such great care of him and cried with us when it was time for him to go. They arent cheap but will work with you on cost cutting measures.

I love this vet! We have been taking our cats here for over a year. Our older cat is in kidney failure and so we are in the office often (2+ times a month) buying IV fluids for her or seeing the vet for appointments. We have her on a wellness plan and it has saved us SO much money! I love being able to bring her in for free anytime we need to. The vets, techs and office staff are so sweet, caring and down to earth! HIGHLY recommend bringing your pets here.

When we got our new puppy we started with Banfield and bought the Wellness Plan. Each time we went in they tried to upsell additional services. I felt the focus was on making a sales quota not on the health of my puppy. When I finally needed to take the puppy in because he was sick they said they were too busy to see him. They said to call the OFallon office who said they were too busy too. Time for a new vet!!!!!

Great team at this store! I had to switch vets due to price issues at my other one. Really patient with me amiss my barrage of questions about a safety harness and general health related things. They treated me really well and understood I could not get the wellness plan at the time. Price was very fair for the vaccines and heartworm test.
