Well I had had a 9 week old rottweiler puppy I got from a woman in Alton who sold me this beautiful dog knowing she had Parvo. Pepper is her name and she was seemingly normal for the 1st day until the signs of lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea became apparent... So for about 1 day she was good then shes suddenly looking like shes not even going to last the night. So I brought her in there to this Animal Emergency Center about 1 am on a saturday night.. I brought in a stool sample for them to test as I was already fearing Parvo based on the symptoms. I give it to them, and they say "ok great" and then proceed to jam a q-tip up her ass anyway because I suppose they didnt feel like saying my sample was worthless to them, which it wasnt, but fine.whatever. I wait about an hour before they say shes tested positive for Parvo as she hands us some literature on the subject and leaves the room again. (So this is where I began to stop making excuses for the employees there and impartially look at how they REALLY were)... So I proceed to wait for 2 MORE HOURS for "Dr.Satan" Santiago" to come in. She enters and immediately starts handling this rottweiler puppy who had gotten down to 6 lbs in 3 days, and hadnt been able to keep any food or water down in that time, who was on the edge of death mind you, like really rough.. As if she were pissed at her or something..She starts by pushing in on her eyeballs, pulling on her scruff and finally digging into her stomach with her fingers, which was clearly hurting this dying puppy!! So between her cries and yelps from her doing this,I ask inquisitively what exactly shes looking for as shes doing that, all while doing my best to console and comfort little Pepper while Dr.Satan continues to ignore me and giggles, going back to thrusting her fingers into her belly making her cry in agony once again.. Again I said, excuse me. May I ask what your searching for thats putting her through obvious excruciating pain and more hell than shes already going through and why your doing it again ? Is that necessary??!! Wtf ?? She again ignores me...digging her knuckles and fingertips in more and harder than before, chuckling the entire time like Im telling jokes or something ...... I then began to lose it. I said ya know,Im not really sure if your not hearing me or your ignoring me on why you insist on doing what your doing there !!! (Mind you,she was already finished before but began again when I asked her about it chuckling and grinning like some sort of fn sadist ! Im not exaggerating even a little bit here. I almost got the third attempt to ask completely out before I just snapped, grabbed my puppy and said, gimme my fn dog you fn... (I called her a name not fit for general audiences lets just say..,It wasnt good) She kinda just shrugged and said - okay, seeming relieved. I scooped up my half dead puppy, stormed towards the entrance and kicked the front door open clearing my path and left. Again I dont know what this poor dying 9 week old puppy could have done to Dr.Santiago, but this woman is a monster. Plain and simple. I would BEG someone to think twice before choosing this hellhole. Please for the sake of your pets well being, dont say you werent warned if you do. I made that same mistake as we got there, there was this nervous and aggravated guy who said he brought his dying dog there and had been there two hours and knew nothing yet. Not a word. I brushed it off and wish I hadnt. This that I have written is 100 % true and I have not exaggerated one syllable. Thank you for your time.

They mis-diagnosed kennel cough as gastrointestinal problem, even though there were no sign that my dog had gastrointestinal issues. I took my dog in after he suddenly developed a hacking cough which persisted in the early evening into the following day. It was apparent he was trying to bring something off his chest or his throat. I feared pieces of wood he was chewing the day before got lodged in his throat. The emergency care decided to keep him overnight for observation and run several test. They charged $1050, which btw, 79% has to be paid up front - either using visa, mastercard, debit card, or cash. The following morning I went there to collect him... The front-desk woman was slow responding to 2 people ahead of me. At one point she kept the woman ahead of me waiting, while she busied herself making copies of documents. After waiting 35 minutes for my dog to be discharged, the animal doctor on the morning shift, told me the dog was doing fine during the night, then all of a sudden since morning, he started hacking and coughing again. They gave the results of the x-rays, etc... EVERYTHING was fine with my dog. The x-rays were clean, with no sign of anything obstructing his throat or foreign object in his stomach. However, they diagnosed and gave him treatment for gastrointestinal problem, and recommended that I take him to my local veterinarian. I was highly suspicious of their diagnosis, and how is it that he was ok in the night but started coughing right away in the a.m. It made no sense. I, however paid the balance and left. When I got home, I called my local vet and they said to bring him in right away. I took the Animal Emergency Services report with me. (They did not fax in a copy to my vet as they said they would.). While my local vet examined my dog, he listened to what I told him happened over the past day and half. He looked up at me and said, "Your dog has kennel cough. It is a common infection that is easily diagnosed." My vet immediately said my dog does not have any gastrointestinal problems and I should not keep him on the medicines the animal emergency services diagnosed. He said the people at the animal emergency services should have known its kennel cough. He had no other opinion, except to provide me with the proper medication and advised that I no longer keep him on the medicine given to me at the animal emergency services. I think Animal Emergency Services deliberately did an incorrect diagnosis and very well knew by examining the dogs tracheal area that he has kennel cough. All materials provided to my by my vet indicate this is an easily diagnosed illness, similar to when us humans have the common cold. They did not diagnose my dog correctly.

We went in with my hedgehog (mind you, I didnt expect thd doc to know too much but it was an emergency) he suddenly had a purple and red blister on his back foot that was the size of his foot. Our usual vet wasnt open so we rushed him here. We waited an hour to be seen, later they said they had a dog in the back having seizures so we would have to wait. When we were seen she picked up the hedgehog incorrectly which made him panick and ball up, he laid on his back curled into a poke monster and she stood there for what felt like hours trying to talk him into unrolling himself. Eventually I grabbed him and calmed him down so she could look. "seems like an infection" she said "well have to gas him and give him antibiotics." okay, perfect, just please help him. Took him to the back for about half an hour. He came back drowsy and curled up in a towel. We went to pay the fees and the woman at the counter says "so, she decided not to give your hedgehog antibiotics. She clipped his nails, it was probably just an ingrown toenail" what? So, you did nothing? "heres the bill, $120" uh... Okay? For what? "mostly for gassing him, and because were an emergency clinic" okay fine. Im leaving and I read the paper that has the diagnosis on it. Says the foot pigmentation is just different on his feet which is why the coloring looked weird and that his nails were the problem. Okay... Ive known this hedgehog since he was born, he has never had that color on his foot. Oh well. Maybe itll get better now that she took care of his nails. Less than a few days later, the blisters have spread to his other foot and hes vomiting. And come to find out, that dog in the back having seizures while we were there? It died on their table, and they wouldnt let the owner even see the body. He just had to walk out with no closure and no support or comfort from the staff. I dont think I trust this clinic anymore.
