Went into the ER with a tooth abscess that starts at my front tooth and ends at my back left molar. I had gone to a doctor on June 4 when it was much smaller and irritation started. When I arrieved I was having an anxiety attack from the swelling and pain. I was dripping in sweat with 99.9 temp and a strong headache. The young man who was the acting physician assistant came in with a very kid back attitude no sense of bed side manor and started going in on me about smoking cigarettes and how if i cared about getting better Id go home and break them and throw them away. As he went on to sit in a chair and not check my mouth or any concerns I had while Im balling my eyes out. I made it clear I want no pain meds I just want the pressure to stop and the infection treated. He asks what I am prescribed I said amox 800 mg every twelve hours. Then he says well its been 5 days keep taking it for the full ten and you will see results. Yet since I began it has only grown worse. Luckily during his 5 min with me my mom was on the phone listening to here the diagnosis since she lives out of state. He said he would give me a packet of numbers to call to go to dentist. When I already had an apt but they wont see me til the infection is cleared. So he says its my own problem I never kept on my oral hygiene and smoke cigarettes. Which yes t is true it is my body! But arent you getting paid to get to the root on the problem and fix people?? So he walks out and a nurse walks in hands me packet basically around the door and doesnt say one word nor did I get discharge paperwork. Shocker now I have no names but I am on my way now to get the discharge paperwork and I will be writing about this now until forever. I cant believe how utterly cold And not to mention uncompetent they all were. I truly feel bad for any family who has a real problem they need care and attention for and has to deal with the un humane people I did. I unserstaNd the ER isnt for teeth but its now been diagnosed strep threat and many scans they are going to do a biospsy of my huge cyst. Thanks to people who love what they do and care. All in all, stay as far away from this location as posible.

I have never had a good experience in any one of the three centegras in my area. Our son was born in huntley and it was horrible. The nurses, the service, the drs, every part. Well this time my poor girlfriend had been in horrible pain for over a month. She went to the er 3 different times being told a range of different things each time, the third time being told shes ok and was sent home. A few days later, she was rushed into emergency surgery because her intestine were about to rupture. How this was missed 3 times i will never understand. After 5 hours of unexpected surgery, she was finally given a room. The entire first day the poor girl was in tears because after losing a foot of intestine, they would not up her pain meds to a reasonable amount. So she suffered. 2 days later, shes still suffering. This morning she spent 45 minutes paging a nurse because she needed her pain meds, and literally noone answered for almost an hour. The patient care is deplorable, the nurses dont seem to care at all. This was a very serious problem to be missed in the first place, and everday there has been more miserable for her. I would like to be contacted asap to discuss these problems, because this whole situation has been a nightmare, and i wish we could be at a different hospital because im legitimately scared to leave her there. I couldve lost my girlfriend because of centegras negligence, and something needs to be done. I expect to be contacted or i will pursue legal advice..

Stay away! Im in the health care feild and I am disgusted at this hospital! The ER staff is unprofessional and dangerous if not deadly. In 2008 I had an ovarian cyst that ruptured. 2016 my boyfriend, who is a type 1diabetic was pepper sprayed. For me No! Diagnostic testing was done such as a mri. Even though I was transfered in from a urgent care indicating I needed a mri asap! I waited 2 days for testing and then was not surgically treated for 5 days.Thank God a ob surgeon took over and saved my ovary. I had a build up of 2 units of blood in my abdomen which was turning toxic from lack of treatment. They made me sign papers so I would not sue. My boyfriend was pepper sprayed after the ER put him in a room in the corner unstable. When he asked to leave after he felt better they pepper spayed him twice. The security gard then proceeded to laugh and talk about it to his contact worked right outside of our room so we could hear. They even walked in on him laying on the floor in pain. The nurse closed the door and walked away. Because of the spray and lack of communication with the ambulance staff he ended up in the icu. I called to complain about the security guard but nothing was done. They are a level 2 trauma center... thats what is scary. The ER staff is neglectful, uncaring and dangerous. Please go to Barrington for a hospital. It is night and day. You will be treated with the standard of care.

Two bad experiences. First one was 2015, I was in the ER for a crisis, nurses talked loudly outside my room about how theyre "not surprised a 16 year old girl is having a crisis" perhaps not the best thing to say in the vicinity of a struggling teenager, eh? Second incident was yesterday (April 27th, 2017) I went to the imaging center for an EKG (electrocardiogram), I called ahead of time to make sure I could just walk in to get it with my prescription from the Doctor, they said I could. I walk in, and the two ladies at the desk argued with me, saying I had to call central cardio scheduling for an EKG, and said that my doctor didnt prescribe an EKG, but she prescribed an "electrocardiogram" and for that, I needed to make an appointment. I think at this point in the story, its apparent that an EKG and electrocardiogram are the same thing. But the "professionals" that require a basic understanding of medical terminology to work their job, didnt know this, pretty pathetic if you ask me. Considering most people with a working brain know theyre the same thing. I wish I could say I was kidding, but sadly its nothing but the truth. I had to call back to central cardio scheduling to alert them of the incident and they handled it professionally and let the two women at imaging know that I could walk in and get my EKG done right there and then, even then they were still stubborn. Unbelievable.

The patient care is less than human. I went in because I was forced. My bf thought I was suicidal. T he security guard aggregated the situation by telling me bf did not care, he was a cop and worked there to take care of people like me was an insult. My degree in computer computer information systems qualified me to do me do Facebook. I was in crisis. The nurse did not care. Instead they drugged me, put me in restaints, lied to me, my arms and legs are bruised and sore, etc. I will add I was there on the night shift. The nurse had no empathy and the security guard suffers from small dog syndrome
