Fortunately, Ive had a fun, adventurous, full life that, unfortunately, cost me many hours in the chairs of more than a dozen dentists repairing traumatized teeth. Bridges, crowns, root canals, fillings, extractions, re-implanted lost teeth, surgery and more. I began with Dr. Balon in July, 2016 conducting an interview with the Office Manager. She provided complete answers to my exhaustive interrogation about the entire Practice. I wont provide the full impressive details here, however I was fully convinced to have the first appointment. 1st appt: Cleaning, exam, consultation. I was reminded of the appointment days in advance by text msg. It was great way to communicate and reassure them everything was GO. The place is modern, clean, well organized, comfortable. Everybody is pleasant, professional, has a sense of humor and personable. They have excellent technology, know how to use it and it clearly helps in actual procedures, analysis and planning treatment course. They show me in great detail what my condition was, what could be done and after a thorough, unrushed discussion we had a plan on what would be done. Dr. Balon is impressive. Calm, articulate, very concerned for your comfort and very efficient in his work and how his team performs. I have NEVER before had "a shot" of anesthesia without some pain. AMAZINGLY, none of the 4 "shots" had any pain. NOTHING! ZERO! Not even that bit at the very beginning. Remember, Ive had many dentists, many "shots." During one conversation w Dr. Balon I learned he was raised on a farm. A good work ethic and appreciation of the physical world that includes biology and mechanical things were everyday life. These are essential in dentistry. Dr. Balon clearly "gets it" like very few other dentists Ive appreciated. As long as this review may seem, I could write about other very positive things I witnessed and experienced. STAR STAR STAR STAR STAR Of course, your experience may be different however, my hundreds of hours in dentists chairs compel me to write nothing less.

Met Dr. Balon during a painful meet and greet in Portage, Told him to either drill it, fill it or kill it............just make the pain stop! Come to find out my old dentist did not grind down my tooth properly, there was too much pressure on the one tooth (other dentists would of probably pulled it just for the money), but Dr. Balon took the time to explain my problem and the options I had. I know I, like many others, have neglected my teeth over the years and skipped brushing because I was either too busy, in a hurry, or whatever. I made the choice to keep the tooth and in minutes, weeks of pain was gone! He then gave me $5.00 and told me to buy a bag of candy and will see me in a month lol. Seriously? awesome dentist!!!!. His staff is so professional and friendly. Words can not relay my thoughts on him or his staff. Anyone looking for a fantastic dentist, your search has ended. Thank you so much Dr. B. JUST TO UPDATE MY LAST REVIEW - Today I had a root canal done, so painless I (literally) almost fell asleep in the chair! The office and room I had my dental work done in, was clean and bright, the wait time for my appointment was very impressive and again I can not say enough about the staff. Both Megan and Tiffany are top shelf and makes you feel as if you have been going there for years. If your not getting what you pay for with your current dentist or are looking for a new one, give this guy a try.......you will not be disappointed. He will be my dentist for life.

A lifelong dentist for me and my family. Ive had bad teeth for a long time ao i was nervous about going to a dentist after hearing some bad stories about others. I found Dr Balon and i couldnt be happier with my choice. He and his staff are very courteous. Everyone especially Dr Balon and his hygenist Kayla are very knowledgeable about everything they do. All procedures so far have been quick and painless from periodontal scaling to tooth extraction. Scheduling is super easy and wait times are extremely low, usually under 10 minutes. If they have cancellations they have called me to see if i wanted to come in a earlier date to fill the slot. They explain in great detail the procesures and any questions you may have. I fully trust his expert course of action with my teeth and will be bringing my family to see him as well. Very hygenic and freindly atmosphere.

Dr Balon is the BEST dentist Ive been to in 40 yrs. I have lots of experience in a dental chair and Im the biggest chicken when it comes to drillin and shots. My first visit with Dr Balon was fillings and i was nervous until he walked in the room. His chair side his calming voice his sense of really caring I became calm immediately. I didnt break a sweat I felt no pain NO pain at all with his shots. I also work in the dental field and i have seens lots of dentist. I can honestly say by far Dr Balon is the greatest. He was meant to be a dentist for sure. My husband and I highly recommend Dr Balon for all your dental needs. Oh and I must add the staff and his assistant are wonderful as well. Tiffany is very skilled her and Dr Balon work well as a team. My family and I now have a dental office for life. No more fears and tears for us. Thanks Dr Balon your the best.

Dr. Balon is dentist that is honest, kind, gentle and caring. In my recent visit, I had a tooth extracted. He showed me by x-ray what was going on with my tooth. He took the time to tell me of all of my options. He let me make the final decision. Yet, he gave me the tools that I needed to make an informed decision. After the procedure was complete, he talked to me and told me he would send me home with instructions. Then, he also sent me home with instructions that he had already explained to me. It was awesome! I didnt feel like had to remember everything at once and leave. He is a very gentle dentist. The best part, was that he personally called me to make sure I was o.k. at the close of his day. Dr. Balon and his staff are priceless!!! Thank you so much. So glad I found such a wonderful dentist.

I had used the same dentist for a long time, even after I moved away from the area. So, I was living in Chesterton and driving a great distance to go back to the same dentist Just because I couldnt find anyone locally that compared. That is until I found Precision Dental Center and Dr. John Balon. It is a great facility, friendly staff and I felt completely comfortable from the second I walked into the place. If you just moved into the area, or are not absolutely thrilled with your current dental care you should call them today. Definitely!

I had a great experience as the office was very clean and had the most up to date equipment. Dr. Balon got me in and out and was nice and did not try to sell me something I didn’t need. I have two children under 2 and my wife asked Dr. Balon a question regarding dental care for our children and he gave us great advice and also told us about his blog which he updates regularly to help answer any questions we have regarding our children’s dental care. I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a new dentist.
