I used to go to this place when DR. Davis ran it and it was wonderful. I am not sure but I do not believe the Davis family has anything to do with this place anymore and if they do ....man have they fallen from grace. I took my sick dog here and seen DR. Kaiser, I asked what could be done for my best friend but didnt have a lot of $$ to spend on long expensive treatment for something he would die of anyway, and asked if there was anything to make him feel a little better through the process of him passing away naturally. almost as soon as he heard i had no $$$ he said NEXT! ended up spending almost $500 that visit anyway for flea meds for my other animals. I called that evening to express that my dog was getting worse and was wondering why they didnt even try to give me any prices for treatment so i could consider and compare with another vet or at least give him antibiotics or anything to ease his passing. I ended up going back next day for x-rays n blood work, DR Kaiser spoke with me for over an hour this time and was as informative as he could be for something he really seemed to not know a lot about(he could have told me this at beginning instead of making me waste $$ on x-ray and blood work and could have gone to a vet that knows more about what he suspected but could not confirm with the equip they had there. ). Asked about writing a script for meds so I could go to low-cost pharmacy and possibly get cheaper meds. he said it would probably be about $10. The price of the antibiotic was $22 from them i asked for a script from the front desk people, and then they charged me $25 for the script! as to make sure i would not save any money and be as spiteful as possible asked the front desk lady for more info on the meds the doc had down and she proceeded to be very snippy and at one point said "just sign it and pay". Needless to say i felt taken advantage of and said i would not be riped off and just give me a refund on the meds and i would go to another vet. then a male nurse jumped in to the conversation and threatened bodily injury on me for complaining infront of customers about how they had tried to rip me off. then to top it all off after i was upset they slipped in an extra charge for the exam (charged me 2x). i also sat in the waiting room after the doctor had seen my dog for about 1 hour and heard all kinds of misinformation the front desk lady was giving other customers just so they would buy the meds from there stock. In conclusion i wouldnt recommend this vet unless you are searching for low cost shots (and not really that low if considering the drive from the city) TOTAL RIPOFF ARTIST NOW!!!!!!DR Davis where are you? we miss your personal service and compassion for animals.

My mother has taken her dogs here for over twenty years. Great farm vet and very knowledgeable. After taking my poor dog to several vets about her skin and ear issues, I finally decided to make the drive out to new Winchester and it was so very worth it. They treated her ear infection and without any tests told me that she had a very common allergy to gluten. I switched her over to an appropriate diet and she is now healthy as a horse. I also loaded up on heart worm chews and flea treatments at what I would consider relatively cheap for the "good stuff". Make the drive.

I called, was put on hold for 4 minutes. I called back and asked if they could look at an animal that has stopped eating. They said no because that would take a blood draw & they dont do that. SERIOUSLY!
