I am Dr. Willaims employee, and a friend called me about the comment recently posted about our first appointment policy. I wanted to clear up any confusion their might be regarding new patient appointments at our office. I was really disturbed to read that someone thought we were trying to "rip them off" or "generate billable dollars in our practice". That could not be further from the truth.Dr. Williams is one of the most ethical people I have ever met, and I am proud to work for her. Someone wrote a post questioning the way we schedule time with our new patients. Let me explain what we do. The first appointment is with the doctor and another member of her staff. It is 1.5 hours long. This is an information gathering session where we review all medical concerns that patient may have, we take xrays,do a TMJ exam, oral cancer screening and check the teeth and gums for disease. There is a fee for the xrays and a fee for the exam. That is it. At that appointment, we determine what type of cleaning is needed. Until we see a patient for the first time, we have NO WAY of knowing what type of cleaning we will need to do or how long it will take. People who have gum disease often need multiple appointments to get the disease under control. People who do not have any issues with their gums, would just need a regular cleaning that usually takes 40 minutes. Again, we have NO way of knowing this without seeing the person first. This process insures that we have enough time with the patient at the cleaning appointment so that we are not rushed and running behind like many other offices do. The cleaning appointment is scheduled as soon as possible (sometimes it can be done the same day). At that appointment you are only charged for the services the hygeinest provides-usually the cleaning and flouride treatment. Dr Williams does not even see the patient during this appointment. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE IN THE COST NO MATTER WHEN THE SERVICES ARE DONE. No extra "billable dollars" are generated in any way, shape, or form. Most dental insurances pay for two at least 2 exams and 2 cleanings per year. The procedures do not have to be done on the same day. I hope this clears up any uncertainty. For anyone that would like to make an appointment at our office, we would be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

My husband and I truly loved the staff at this office! They were very kind, but I have had a miserable year from the work that Tracey and her staff did. Tracey and her staff said I needed 6 fillings. I have a history of bad teeth, despite flossing, brushing and professional cleaning regularly, so this seemed extensive even with my historically troublesome teeth. Since the work on my teeth has been done, I have had migraines once a month, infections in my teeth, and cannot chew anything harder than a banana. I did not have pain before I went in to see her. I called them a couple of times because of the pain but they just prescribed me painkillers, referred me to an endodontist (which I wish they would have just done in the first place, instead of having us pay for unnecessary and painful fillings) and said there was nothing they could do. They have not been easy to work with since. My husband has tried working with them several times to get this resolved. We waited to write any kind of review, hoping they would work with us. I waited a year to see if it was just sensitivity, because Dr. Williams said thats all it was, but after visiting a new dentist, he said this was completely abnormal for this much pain after a year. He said I need 3 root canals from where she did her work, which I probably needed the year before instead of fillings. My teeth have even shifted. I dont want to write bad reviews but feel that people should know not to visit this dds. If you need anything more than a cleaning, i wouldnt recommend this dentist.

I do not recommend this dentist! She wrecked my teeth and her assistant is incompetent in my opinion. She drilled on one of my teeth, the assistant filled the cavity and the color didnt even come close to matching my natural tooth color! She personally replaced it on my second visit. The second appt. was even worse quality. She filled one of my front teeth and left a big air pocket in the filling which showed up on an x-ray taken by my new dentist. She also told me that I needed four (overpriced) caps on my teeth. My new dentist said that I didnt need any caps unless I wanted them for purely cosmetic reasons. Then she told me that my child had two cavities. I took my child to the dentist I had changed to and he said that she didnt have any cavities. He removed some staining and replaced tooth sealant that had chipped off. Stay away from this dentist if you care about your teeth. I wish I had never gone there.

Theres not much to like about a dentist. Paperwork. Medical bills. People shoving devices in your mouth. This office did everything they could to make the experience pleasant. The nice lady in the front office was great about helping with my paperwork (and I love them for letting me register online!). The hygienist listened to my questions and concerns and explained things to me to my satisfaction. Dr. Williams was friendly and thoroughly reviewed my charts and again took time to explain things. The free parking and location next to Marsh Market, Fresco, the hardware store, and the dry cleaners.... the only way they could have made it better was to offer me a donut on my way out the door! :-) I really liked my old dentist, and I wasnt thrilled about switching... but Dr. Williams and her team will work out just fine.

Theres no doubt that everyone at Dr. Tabor Williams office is "super nice!", the interior design of the office and exam rooms is upscale and comfortable and they provide an all around pleasant and professional service. However, when all the non essentials are stripped away, Im just there for an ordinary dental procedure that ends up costing significantly more than Ive paid for the same level of service elsewhere. Be aware you will have to schedule a separate "preliminary exam" before you can make an appointment for even a routine check-up and cleaning...uh, I mean, "debridement!". Im pretty conscientious about the care of my teeth and that was evident during my exam but they still recommended a check-up/cleaning EVERY 4 MONTHS?!.... Just expect to pay for all that special "perceived value".

Because of my inability to give up diet sodas, I am at the dentist probably more than I should be but I can tell you that Dr. Williams is the best dentist I have ever been to and I have recommended her office to a number of friends who have been similarly pleased. The level of care and concern Dr. Williams provides is outstanding. Despite complicated procedures, she has never, not once, caused me pain in any way. After I have spent some time in her chair, Leah, her fabulous office manager will call later in the day to see how I am doing. She truly cares about her patients and as an added plus, she knows her college football! She is truly the best thing to come out of Arkansas since Wal-Mart!
