I have taken my animals to MCAH for years and my fiancee used to work there for years in high school. Dr. Weiss is a wonderful woman with a true love for animals. She never hires anyone that she isnt sure is a hard working animal lover. All of the employees I have come into contact with over the years have been equally passionate about our furry friends and have always handled them with the utmost care. The only issue weve had is with the groomer. Both times weve sent animals to be groomed (a task covered by an outside source, NOT someone working in the clinic) they have come back hurt. Our dog returned from a "furminator" session with massive clumps of fur ripped from his stomach, and our cat (very old) could barely walk when she returned from having some mats combed out. I would recommend NOT using the groomer, since you cant be there to watch and make sure the groomer is being careful with your pet. As for the MCAH staff, they are wonderful people who have a passion for what they do. Dr. Weiss is constantly taking in rescue animals, the staff works together on rehabilitating them, getting them healthy and up-to-date on immunizations, and then works to find loving homes for them. She does this out of her own pocket and the adoption fees are very standard. The staff is extremely sensitive to the loss of a pet (we have lost 2 beloved dogs and MCAH has handled both beautifully). Sometimes there are flukes in everyday situations, and unfortunately that seems to be all that has been reviewed. This is a wonderful place to take your pets. Some of the pricing may be more expensive than other clinics, but the care of the staff more than warrants the extra cost, and you can know that you are helping to support all the rescued animals that MCAH rehabs.

My 3-year-old daughter got bit by a bat, animal control came out and got the bat. They gave it to this place to "put the bat to sleep and send it to Indianapolis to be tested for rabies". This happened on a Tuesday morning. The test results were supposed to be here on Thursday. Thursday morning my wife does some calling and no one knows anything about it. She went to Maple City Animal Hospital and was told it was sent already. So she did some calling around and went to UPS where they had no scan record of the bat. This was around 11AM. My wife then goes back to the hospital and was assured that the bat was shipped UPS from Staples. So she goes to Staples and finds the bat with a clock in of 1PM! They had just got back from dropping the dang thing off! So now her and I take a day off work and drive down to Indianapolis Thursday with our daughter, spend the night down there and get it to the testing place when they opened up at 8AM. We had to do this due to UPS could not promise us that it would be there by 12PM for the testing takes 4 hrs and the testing place would not have time and it would have to wait until Monday. Now this is my daughter we are dealing with. Even though the test would most likely be negative Rabies is fatal and you cannot chance it. Well it all worked out ok it was negative. BUT they charged us $30 to kill the bat and ship it, no refund, no sorry, and all we got was an excuse of that she got busy in a meeting and forgot about it!!!!!!!

After getting home from work tonight my wife tells me our dog is really sick and barely breathing . She then tells me she called at 5:45pm to Maple City Animal Hospital, the person working told us to bring in the dog asap . My wife explains we will be on our way . We get there at 6:05 to find a sign on the door that says closed at 6pm. We figure ok they told us to bring our dog and they know we are coming so there shouldnt be any problems. How wrong we were !! We get the dog out of the car along with 2 little kids crying that the dog is sick, dont let the dog die says the 9 year old crying. After knocking on the door and waiting without an answer we see 1 doctor leave the parking lot without even paying any attention to us and speeds off. After 10 minutes of us waiting I walked around to the side door. The door was unlocked , but being the person I am I still knocked on the door. 5 seconds later I hear a click and the door is now locked in my face. I looked in the window close by to see 3 or 4 young age girls hiding around the corner laughing at us. I was so outraged , and thank god for them I gotta be to work early tomorrow or they would need law enforcement there to stop me from hurting every single one of them. Poor poor excuse for an animal hospital. I highly Recommend all creature features instead of these idiots.

My boyfriend and I took in our kitty and hyper active pup. Both r very animal/people friendly. Even though r pup is a ginormous (81lb ) hard to contain love me kinda boy they treated both of them with love and positive attitudes. My cat hisses when they took his temp and the lady didnt even flinch she just scratched his favorite spot and talked to him. My pup has ticklish toes and pulls feet away once I let them know they grabbed higher up to hold his leg steady for blood draw. I loved the fact that even when he knocked her over she just chuckled and told him to sit. He listened for about 20 seconds. They answered all of my questions and they gave me info on an herbal treatment that helps animal anxiety.

Extraordinarily Nice! I am SO very grateful to the kindness of the Doctor and the professional staff at Maple City Animal Hospital for treating my new kitten, Skylar, and myself with such warmth and kindness. After our visit last week, Skylar is doing much better. She is even MORE playful, and eagerly runs to and fro looking for her next adventure or challenge. (She is a remarkable and precious gift.) I would encourage every animal lover, with a friend in need of care, to visit Maple City. Im certain after your visit you will feel the same way about them as I do.

I took my female cat of one year old to be declawed and have her ears checked out. I was given the kitten from a friend who told me she was deaf. When she was under they checked her ears and cleaned them out to find out she has an infection in one ear. They sent me home with meds for her ears. She seems to be able to hear some sounds so I hope she can hear more when shes done with the meds. They took good care of her and they followed up afterwards with phone calls.

We have used Maple City Animal hospital for years. Our dogs, our cats, and guinea pigs have all gotten wonderful, loving care. The staff is like family and they truly love our animal kids. The grooming and boarding is great! We LOVE Dr. Weiss!!! She is an animal lover and does not mind when our big ole beagle gives her a wet kiss! Amy and Marty Nieman
