My 1 year old puppy was taken by a tech through an open door to be weighed on a scale visible to me at the front desk while I completed paperwork. The tech subsequently shut the door and I was refused entry into the exam room after asking the receptionist three separate times to be allowed to see my dog. The receptionist went back and asked the vet each time and stated the vet would come to get me when she was ready every time. The vet finally came out after she said she completed the entire exam without me present and without my consent. The vaccinations, blood test, and fecal test were supposedly completed, all under the premise that my dog was being weighed. I voiced how upset I was once she finally came to get me and the vet was totally out of it. She didnt remember the receptionist coming back and asking if I could be present three times and she did not allow me to ask any questions regarding the exam or other pertinent issues with regard to the puppys health. In addition, I was unaware of what vaccines he was provided and that he was getting a blood test until after the exam was completed, at which time I was expected to pay for the exam in its entirety. I will not return and would not recommend this vet to anyone.

Cheekwood Animal Hospital is my favorite vet! When I first found my cat he was only seven weeks old, covered in ticks, under weight, and petrified. I took him as soon as possible to get a check up at Cheekwood, and they were very sweet and gentle with him. They gave me lots of advice and information about my little stray. My parents had always taken their pets to Cheekwood, so I was not surprised by the great service and friendly staff. I was pleasantly surprised though when I found how affordable my continuing visits were. For a while I was living in another state and only visiting Nashville in the winter for a brief window. Bad experiences at other vets made me decide to time my cats vaccines and annual check up so that I could continue to go to Cheekwood while I was in town. Whenever I go in they are very thorough and helpful. They also ask me how my moms cats are doing, especially since one of them is quite old. Its that kind of attention to detail that makes me feel like they really care about our pets well being. Thanks Cheekwood!

OK, I have calmed down and want to clarify my previous review. DO NOT go to this animal clinic unless your pet can see Dr. Crisp. I took my pet there and she was given a clean bill of health. They said her teeth needed cleaning and this would be around 200.00. They assured me she needed no extractions. She also needed to be spayed which I paid for through Friends of Animals. Less than a month later, I took her in to be spayed and have her teeth cleaned. This time it was Dr. Crisp. She discovered two mammary tumors and the technician pulled several teeth. Tooth extractions cost more than the tumor removal? I am grateful to Dr. Crisp for finding my babies tumors as she could have saved her life, definitely prolonged it, but it is frightening that the first vet did not find these tumors at her check up and it would have been great to have warning that this would be 1082.00 without spay.

Dr Crisp is the most knowledgeable veterinarian I experienced. The staff are also very friendly, with very fair prices as well.
