Dr. Pucka at Spine Worx is very knowledgeable about the field of chiropractic medicine, but also the body as a whole. I have many health issues, and he is very good at making connections between my many symptoms and conditions. At the same time, hes not afraid to admit when he doesnt know something (which I would hope all doctors would do, but experience has shown me otherwise). Dr. Grace joined the practice a few years ago and is also an excellent chiropractor. The office is a very different setting than what you may be used to, chiropractic or otherwise. There is a large waiting room that also serves as the treatment area with two adjustment tables. There is one private room for new patients first visits or for those who need or request privacy. There’s also a few rooms in the back for massages, but the majority of patients have their adjustments out in the open in this waiting room type area. Its kind of a factory line version of chiropractic adjustments; it is quick and efficient, yet effective for the large number of patients he sees each day. I have never found that this format altered my quality of care in any way when compared to a more traditional office. If you are a more private person, just ask to be adjusted in the exam room. Regarding Dr. Puckas personality--do not mistake his bluntness and sarcasm for being unprofessional. He develops good enough relationships with a lot of his patients and there is a mutual comfort to joke, tease, or tell inside jokes. This creates a laid back, enjoyable atmosphere, something pretty uncommon in most medical offices. To a new patient, this might seem like hes rude or unprofessional, so dont let it scare you off! Also, you probably will never see him without a bow tie on… You do not need an appointment except for the very first visit, so you can pop in whenever you find it most convenient. The fee structure is very simple--he doesnt process any insurance but you can ask for receipts to submit your own claims if your insurance works like that. I can come in and get an adjustment for $15 and then return any number of times that same day if I feel I need readjusted or something new is bothering me without being charged again. And I dont have to worry about a limit on the number of visits insurance allows. I also recommend Andrea as a massage therapist, she is wonderful! Dr. Puckas wife, Kim, also works in the office as a massage therapist. The pricing for massages is also very affordable—$1/minute for 15-90 minutes. Accupuncture is also available.

Yesterday afternoon (8-14-13) was my third or 4th visit to the Spine Worx to see Dr. Pukka for an adjustment. This time was unusual because I was asking for help with the fact that I could not fully open my mouth. In the past I have been diagnosed with TMJ (Temporomandibular Disorders) which in more severe cases can cause the jaw to actually "lock" open or closed. After telling Dr. Pukka what was wrong with me he had me lie down on one of the adjustment tables. At first tried to adjust the jaw through "cracking it" (what weve always called it). He placed both hands strategically around my face and then exerted force to try to get a proper realignment of my jaw. Afterwards I was still in severe pain and then asked if acupuncture would help at all. Dr. Pukka said it was worth a shot and we then proceeded to try it. I laid back down and then had a super fine needle inserted into the muscle that was causing my tmj flare up. I was told to do some small movements while the needle was still in my muscle. This was such an odd sensation. At first it was like a deep tissue massage then slowly my jaw became tighter again causing some discomfort. I was instructed to do a stretching exercise and told to come back in a few days if it wasnt better. Today I woke up around 7 A.M. and was so surprised. I am able to open my mouth over 50% more than yesterday. Though I am still having some pain it is significantly less than what I was experiencing just before bed last night. I am going to continue eating a soft diet (as to not over tire the jaw muscle again), do my stretching exercise, and take an OTC anti inflammatory like IBUprofen to help with the pain and stiffness. The whole visit took less than 30 minutes and cost me less than ordering some take out food for dinner! I fear that I might still be suffering in agony if I hadnt went to see Dr. Pukka yesterday so I want to say thank you!

I heard several good things about Dr. Pucka and I decided that it was in my best interest to go visit his office. My wife, children, and I went to his office to discover that his office didnt open until 12pm , which was fine. We decided to spend some time at the mall to pass some time. After time had passed we went back to his office and seen that there where a lot of ppl there, which was fine as well. Both my wife and I work full time, have five children, 3 of which are in school. We are very strapped for time, so I walked in to see how long of a wait there would be( that seemed reasonable enough towards my responsibilities we have three children in school, one that gets off at 2:30pm) only to have the doctor ask me, "What?", with the arrogance of someone who has been praised to the pinnacle of blindness! I dont understand why he nor the staff failed to use the simple, but effective phrase, " May I help you?" He reluctantly with a question of dependancy gives me ten minutes for time to fill out a form. Still not understanding my full question apparently, I ask after that ten minutes what it would be. From my experience it was very short , unprofessional, rude and underscored by unintelligent answers to my simple questions. I doubt I would want to rely on them for something concerning my spine..lol

I went to doctors for 5 years with neck pain they would go in every 6 months an burn the nerves to stop the pain, it would only last 5 months than I would have to be on pain pills for a month. It became a bandaid. I than started to see Dr. Pucka an xrays showed in that spot where my pain was my neck was kinked (why did doctors not see this) well if I go to Spine Worx at least twice a week I am good the people there are wonderful and make my day each time I visit. Their massages are also amazing
