The Muncie office is full of caring, compassionate and knowledgeable people, I recommend every department there except respitory therapy. Have your sleep study done at AHN but beyond that dont trust the therapist to coordinate your services. The people in the Lab are excellent. My veins are very difficult to get blood from. BMH has always had to stick me over and over, left me bruised and sore. At AHN, no problems, I get blood work done about every 3 months and its a breeze. Getting xrays, MRI a d other tests at MH was Always painful due to my medical conditions. At AHN they put my comfort first. I have never spell t time I. Bed due to increased pain after the techs are done with me at AHN. They care and it shows. I have been a patient of Dr. Sowers for about 6 years. He took me as a patient when my previous Dr. moved out of state. No other Dr. would accept me due to my having multiple autoimmune disorders, chronic pain, and being on high doses of narcotic pain patches as well as other narcotic meds. Dr. Sowers knew about my medical conditions, how to treat them, talked to me as a whole person and within a few months diagnosed a rare disease that would have killed me had he not found it. We didnt even know anything else was wrong with me. To me and my husband he is a hero. I also personally recommend Dr. VanValer, he is very good and caring. If you want total care from the lab to supervisors who actually listen and solve problems within minutes then Muncie AHN is where you want to go for your health needs.

My doctor is also wonderful but I have had more trouble with the office than I ever thought possible. The staff is completely negligent. Once during college, I went to the office for my yearly exam. I gave the office my new information. They called my parents house, a number I had not used in 3 years and then left the results of my tests on their answering machine! Thats completely illegal. Whenever I request that a prescription is called in, something goes wrong. I have had at least 5 prescriptions called in to the wrong pharmacy and at least twice I have received a prescription that I have never had before rather than what I normally take once a month. When I call and give them a pharmacy to send a prescription to, I give them the number. Just today, even though I live in Indianapolis, they sent it to Bloomington. I am completely sure I did not give them the number of a pharmacy over an hour away. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

If you dont any sort of insurance or have to pay in payments....DO NOT GO TO DR. JOESPH VAN VALER for neurology. He is just worried about money. I mean I get doctors have to get paid like everyone else, but when a doctor says you need a surgery then proceeds to refuse to give you the said surgery cause he is afraid he wont get paid if just wrong. My husband has severe seizures and has been hospitalized several times cause they temporarily paralyze him. He still refuses to change any treatment, or give him the surgery that he himself said he really needed. His attire to makes you feel that you arent even talking to a professional. Oh, and if you call to report a seizure, good luck on it actually making it in their computer. Hopefully my husbands new neurologist who is actually not concerned about money but his actual health can undo the damage that this doctor did.

We just became patients with American Health Network a few months ago. Our waiting period for our first visit was 4 weeks. I was 10 minutes late for that visit, and rescheduled for 4 weeks later. Its been 2 months and no one in our family has been seen yet. My wife missed a visit due to a tornado warning in our area, and we were called by the staff saying they had canceled us. Our daughter was having respiratory problems and had to be hospitalized, and they were completely unreachable during that visit. I agree. Fire the whole administration and re-hire people with souls.

I briefly saw a very nice physician at American Health Network a year ago and was satisfied with the service, but everything outside of the exam room was a frustration. Expect the facility to be completely packed and busy with wait time no matter how early you check in for an appointment. Expect the the receptionists to be cranky. The billing department is very aggressive and has little communication with the doctors office. NO ONE answers voice mails and they all have to be called at least 5 times before theyll take your call. The whole administration should be fired.

My doctor is wonderful; however, the office staff is unprofessional and very abrupt when talking on the phone. For example, in their rush to get home right at 5, they have hung up on me without telling me if my appointment was confirmed. This is after I had already waited on the phone for several minutes. Unfortunately, this has happened more than once.

They literally saved my life. I had already been to two other doctors who said there was nothing wrong with me when I knew there was. The doctors and medical staff stopped at nothing to find out what was wrong with me and make sure I was taken care of. Im forever grateful.

Probably one of the worst places to go to the doctor in muncie. Theyre only concerned with patient volume.

The care is great, the actual time spent waiting to get the care is ridiculous.
