I can not say enough good, positive things about this pet hospital AND its staff! Dr. Jill Butler (in my opinion) is simply the BEST! She is very caring & understanding of each concern, with each & every pet I have owned & currently own. I honestly do not know what I would do without her & them. I carry her business cards with me so that when chatting with others about my furbabies I am able to have them handy when recommending them. I currently know of 5 families that have taken that recommendation & have the same positive visits with her & staff. They are honest & up-front with care & costs which leaves me with the best possible option for each furbaby. If I have an emergency, they are there for me. If I have a concern, they have answers for me. They are adamant about following up with a call to check on your pets recovery weather it be an annual visit or surgery, they are concerned with how your pet is doing. Dr. Jill Butler & her staff are simply TOPS in my book! & I will continue to pass the recommendations around. ;-)

Ive been taking my dogs and cats there since 2 years before Dr. Butler took over the business and have nothing but positive things to say about her. 25 years ago I took my animals to the usual bigger animal hospitals here in Valpo and never would see the same vet twice in a row and they basically knew nothing about MY animals. Dr. Butler is the vet my animals see EVERY time. She knows them, their health history and their personalities very well. She will get right down on the floor with my greyhounds at their eye level (just the way you would with nervous children) rather than putting them on a stainless steel table and making them more nervous. I have never felt rushed by her and Im sure Ive taken more than my share of her time once in a while. Shes like a family friend rather than just our vet. I will NEVER change vets and recommend her to every animal owner I know.

Recently visited Valparaiso Animal Hospital for a second opinion after another vet automatically assumed we would be having very expensive surgery done on our dog. She may very well need the surgery, but we were not pleased that no other options were even discussed. That was not the case with Dr. Butler. She took an incredible amount of time with us discussing options and addressing all of our concerns. She was very honest about what her practice was capable of vs. a specialist. She was very knowledgeable and super compassionate! Weve only been there once, but we were really impressed. Veterinary costs seem to have gotten completely out of control. I would rather not have money be an issue, but thats the reality. Valparaiso Animal Hospital seems more reasonable. We would definitely trust Dr. Butler with all of our animals!

Nice staff, they did help my puppy recover from kennel cough. I paid the fee to get lifetime free shots. The next visit i told my husband the fee would be $70....the total came out to be almost $200! My puppy had an ear infection at the time of the first initial check up in which those charges should have been charged to petland for selling a sick puppy also with an ear infection! My puppy had to be dropped off at the Valpo clinic in the morning and picked up by 6pm for two weeks. She suffered from an ear infection the whole time she could have been treated 14 days prior. I also inquired the spading cost... They said it would could almost $300! Thats alot for a 6lb dog! Therefore I now take her to the Hobart clinic the fees are reasonable and they have a great staff!!

I dont usually posts reviews but I wanted to share how much I love this animal hospital! Dr. Butler and her staff are amazing! I went to Valparaiso Animal hospital on a recommendation from my brother who is usually very hard to please in regards to the care of his animals. I was not disappointed. On the very first visit, I was made to feel that the health and well-being of my beloved fur babies were just as important to Dr. Butler as it was to me. She was great with my dogs and they do not mind coming to the vet, which in itself is surprising. I have two senior Maltese and they have had some health issues which has been very difficult for me. Besides receiving excellent medical care, the staff and Dr. Butler have been very kind and supportive in all respects.

Have been using Valparaiso Animal Hospital ever since we moved here 5 1/2 years ago, Dr. Jill and her staff are the best we have EVER had in caring for our animals. We have several dogs and cats, many senior, and their loving concern, gentle and passionate care they show with each and every one of our animals is amazing. The entire office is very professional and kind, friendly and compassionate. I truly have never had a vet nor the staff make me feel like when I walk in the door, that my pet, my baby, is the only patient they have, each and every time we go in. My babies even love to go "see Dr. Jill".

This is a FANTASTIC veterinary hospital! Dr. Butler and her team are some truly amazing people! My dog is nervous around people she doesnt know but theyve always been very understanding and great at calming her down. They also offer a program called Free vaccines for life and it saves us LOADS of money each year on her mandatory vaccines, which allows us to vaccinate her for optional things such as lyme disease and to test her for heart worms each year. If youre looking to switch vets or for a vet for your new fur baby, this is definitely the place to go!

Valparaiso Animal Hospital is on the top of my list for vets to take care of my cats. My brother also brings his cat there. They are an excellent choice for me. I brought my cat who is 15 yrs old and they really gave me reassurance he was in good health. He is a happy kitty now. Dr Butler was on top of calling me asking how he was feeling and gave me his lab results promptly. He is in good shape because I took him to the best vet in town. Anyone with pets should go there for all of your pet needs.

Dr. Butler and her staff are amazing! They really explain everything that is going on with your pet and take the time to make you feel comfortable! On top of that you walk into the place and they actually remember you! Most animal hospitals look at you like another number but not here. Very efficient with their check ups and appointment reminders. I highly recommend Valparasio Animal Hospital to everyone. I drive 45 minutes from Hammond IN just for their excellent service. 5 stars all the way!

The office is very clean, the staff is friendly. Both doctors were VERY informative on my dogs surgery. I was given several options & was able to chose which was best for my budget. I was informed when her surgery was complete & when I was able to get her. Dr. Jill called me personally to check on how she was recovering. The best part was when we walked back in to have her stitches removed, she was wagging her tail, not afraid at all. Obviously she was treated well.
