I am so disappointed in the care at lutheran. People with substance abuse need more than just meds and sending them on their way. I know that there is not enough staffing and it is not always possible to meet the needs of every patient but sending someone home who is suicidal or hallucinating is completely unacceptable. I wish there were other places available to people with substance abuse issues that insurance would help cover but unfortunately with Branstad in office there is less and less help available. I sincerely hope that there are not any other families that have had these issues at lutheran.

They like to take advantage of kids! They like to come early for pick up, cut them short on their contracted time and make them leave early! What big men they are! Good for you! O and their bus died at every stop! The interior was horrible! They used the old bus seats. No remodeling at all. Plus they charged over $900.00 for less than 6 hours. The contract was suppose to be 6 hours. When they were asked to go around the block one more time, because the contract time was not up. The bus driver told all the kids, they would have to pay another 50$ each. What a rip off!

Horrible , terrible service!!!!!!! My daughter was left sitting in a 8x6 box of a room for 30 hours. She got 2 meals and vitals twice but nobody told her what was going on they basically ignored us!!! I even found a hospital that did have beds open so she could at least get care somewhere else, they ignored us. Then when my husband came in with a chip on his shoulder for them ignoring our daughter he was thrown out and then I was thrown out. Very unprofessional. Would of went elsewhere.

I will be using Iowa Lutheran Hospital from now on. I went to the ER in July 2016 with stomach pain, chest pains. The nurses were on top of everything. I was diagnosed with A-Fib and was admitted. They were all nice and compassionate to me. I was there for 6 days and was treated very well. The food was good. Everyone that worked there was great. The gal that cleaned my room was excellent, she was friendly and did a great job cleaning.

The Lady at the outpatient procedure desk did not greet me when I went to get my procedure done, I figured because she was having a bad day, but she sure greeted the white folks that walked in after me! come on people we are in 2017, racism should be gone by now! I just hope I dont have to deal with that anymore, the worse part is I do get charged the same as anyone else, no descrimination there.

Since 2007, This Hospital, that includes Doctors, Nurses, Techs, Food Service, Maintenance etc... Truly has saved my husbands life literally 4times, recently last week he had a HeartAttack, and the Doctors and Nurses on ICU and 3rd Floor, very Pleasent, and on top of it, Again Saved his life. Thank You

Was in the er for stomach cramps that would not go away and ended up having pancreatitis. The nurses and Doctor that I had were extremely nice and all about making me feel and get better. Definitely keeping this hospital as my first choice if and when I need it.

This is a great organization. I have been to a few of the Lutheran and Methodist hospitals in Des Moines. They are all staffed with excellent doctors and nurses. They tend to your needs and they really have a caring attitude towards their patients.

My husband recently passed away at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in ICU. I have nothing but respect for the nurses and doctors in that department. They always took their time and answered any questions I had and treated the family with respect.

Three, not one, three people I know have almost died in their care in the past 6 months. All couldve been avoided with simple labs, xrays, or just listening to the patients/family members. I wouldnt take a stray dog there.

Valarie is fantastic. Shes attentive to detail, very professional and great at communicating. If youre in the Des Moines, Ankeny or Pleasant Hill area I highly recommend her for exterior and interior painting jobs. John E.

Lutheran hospital has horrible bed side Manor. Im not sure they know what there doing or what kind of power trip they are on. Next time I need to go to the doctor I will be choosing someone else.
