Our Mom had a serious brain aneurysm resulting in craniotomy surgery and was treated at St. Lukes and in their neurology ICU for around 10 days. She got good care there but instead of sending her to a step down unit Medicare evidently dictated she needed to go to a long term acute care hospital. Even though Select Specialty had some troublesome reviews they were quite a ways in the past. My sister is an RN and several of her clients had been in SS and said they had gotten good care there so we went for it. Mom got very good care during her stay. She was there about a month until she progressed enough that she could be transferred to rehab close to home. When she arrived she hadnt been out of bed for two weeks but they gave her the therapy she needed and she is back on her feet now. I would definitely recommend this hospital.

The regular care is ok. Once Patient was changed to palliative care she only got regular, scheduled care when family and friends were there to ask for it/remind the nurses. We received different information about our loved one from EVERY nurse/doctor. We were more than confused most of the time. There are a few nurses that work their that made us feel comfortable. The place smells horrible all the time. I wouldnt take another loved one to this place. We have since moved....

My mother has been at select hospital since January 12th. The support, the kindness, the extra efforts, the staff put in for the patient is way beyond amazing! From the front door to the back door is friendly staffs. From the janitors to the doctors, all have been great! All I have seen is proud workmanship, and its now March 17, and I hate to see my mother being discharged. I give Select 5 stars because I just cant find anything to complain about!

I agree with the previous poster - care was marginal and only if the patients family was present and willing to ask (sometimes repeatedly) for specific care requests. On the plus side, the facility appeared to be clean.

They were very attentive and took very good care of me! Therapist pushed me but knew when to let me rest. The CNAs and RNs were very sociable and very encouraging!

Clean, organized, helpful staff BUT only when asked. Compatible cost to most dollar stores.

Do not bring your family here. Care was only marginal when family was here to ask for it.
