Attention Dr. Hunter: Having trouble since day one with my first dentures (even after reline) from another Dental Office I decided to get a new Denture at the referral from my husband who had dentures some years ago made at the Dental Center of Florence. Dr Hunter was my assigned Dentist. She was professional, friendly, and she listened to the problem I was having. She examined the old dentures in my mouth to see clearly the Bite was completely off". She fixed it perfectly, Using the old denture and correcting what was off, she and her staff (lets not forget the staff...they all work together as a team...and a good team at that) made me a new plate to die for. They are beautiful, and I can now wear them all day, talk plainly, eat fried chicken and I dont have to use adhesive. What more can I say! I read some negative reviews before I made this appointment, but I also read some positive reviews. My advice to anyone needing affordable dentures ...try DCOF. the key to getting good dentures is communication. Make sure you give a thorough description of the problems youre having, and or the look you want. In order get a same day plate, it is imperative to let the desk know you want them the same day...these appointments have to be at a very early hour 8:30 am or sooner. and dont be late, be on time, if not a few minutes early because you will have some paperwork to fill out...and it takes a few minutes. Dentist cannot read your mind, tell them exactly whats going on. And be nice, they want you to be happy with your dentures. Their Site gives you a price list also, so you do have a choice. Summary of my visit: I filled out paper work immediately, I waited approx 15 minutes and was taken back where I was asked a few questions by a Dental assistant, given a scan of my mouth (no uncomfortable things put in my mouth for the x-ray, and then she explained the steps we would do through the course of the day (3-step process at about 2-hr intervals)...for me.The Dentist came in and did a thorough exam of my mouth and my old denture. I explained the problem I was having. She took the impressions and the day went on. Everything went just as they had explained. During the intervals I had time to visit with two of my children, so I actually didnt mind the wait...I had something to do instead of waiting around being frustrated. I just had to make sure I was back in time for the next step. And they didnt tarry....when I got there for each step...they were ready for me. I walked out with a brand new smile and a good fitting plate. Thank you Dr Hunter and staff for a job well done. Deborah

Unfortunately i did not have such a pleasant experience at DCOF, during one of my visits that was on a Friday and my appointment time was 4:00, well I sat waiting in the chair for an hour before I was seen then I felt like I was rushed because their office closes at 5 and as everyone was leaving they started to turn off the lights through out the office but the worst of my appointments was just the other day when I went in to tell them that I was not happy with my final set of dentures and while I was trying to explain what I was not liking the dental assistant laughs at me which she never apologized for doing and the dentist never said a word about it which then I proceed to tell her that I did not come there to be laughed at. I have been to the dentist many times through out my life and to several different dentist offices and I have never ever seen a dental hygienist act and be so unprofessional, and the staff in general acted like they couldnt see what I was talking about when I was pointing out the problems with my dentures, I think what it was they didnt want to admit that they had messed up my whole set of dentures and by all rights should have made me a new set instead all I heard from them was how I signed the consent paper and any dramatic changes made to my dentures would be at my expense. I would have been fine with that if there would have been only one or two mistakes but it looks like Stevie Wonder made these dentures and Ive already paid them over $2000.00 , Im not about to give them rude unprofessional so called dentists another penny of my money, I am really disappointed because I only went there off of a good recommendation from a friend . I think some of the staff there fail to realize that this sort of thing effects peoples lives, because your smile is the first thing people see when they look at you and these dentures were going to be my teeth for a very long time, and they made an experience that was already a crappy one into a nightmare. So NO I would not recommend to anyone to go there, if I would have known I was going to get treated like that and be out that much money I would have went to Mulcahy Dental, yes they are more expensive than DCOF but i wouldnt have cared because Im sure they act like true professionals and dont allow their dental assistants to stand there and laugh at the patients. oh and P.S. I had to give this place one star in order to submit my review but in fact Id give them a -2stars!!!!!!!!

I was going to give them a 4 star because the staff was pretty nice but after my visit Friday Aug 25th I wont be back, plus the agonizing pain Im in every single day since the procedure. I had my tooth extracted on Monday the 21st. I paid 280 for the extraction, and cartilage to be put in as they told.me it helps speed up the healing process. Since the procedure Ive been in so much pain every single day. I was prescribed Vicodin which I can only take at night because it makes me sleepy and I work during the day. So I went in Friday, Crystal the girl who scheduled me told me 2pm was open. So I came in and checked in. I was taken to the back. The nurse, hygenitst or assistant idk who she was looked at my mouth first and said Im going to have the Dr look at it. Dentist came looked in my mouth for about 20 seconds a d said it was normal swelling because the procedure was pretty intense. Ok I understood that wanted to make sure there was.no infection or dry socket. Then the nurse lady asked me if I knew there would.be a 103.00 charge for the visit. I said no not one person told me this, knowing I didnt have dental insurance on my record the receptionist and the girl scheduling failed to mention that there would be any fee. And for the dentist to look in my mouth for 20 seconds and do nothing else, 103 seemed a bit excessive. The girl talked to her.manager and.said I can lower it to 50 dollars. Said it was.theyre emergency visit fee...that seems like a lot since my whole tooth extraction was 280. I feel like fees need to be discussed before you either make the appt or when you get there. I was completely caught off guard and quite embarrassed because I didnt have the money to pay them. Every dentist Ive gotten a tooth pulled from never charged me for a visit after the extraction. Basically it was a follow up visit to make sure everything was healing the right way. I guess this place is just all about the money..
