Went in with Aunt for stroke like symptoms. The wait wasnt long but staff were not receptive of symptoms that we the family were sharing about her confusion & disorientation and lack of motor skills. A head ct and MRI WAS NOT ordered until well after 24 hours. Surprisingly enough, she was moved to the 5th floor ( stroke care & her nurses there were fantastic) and when discharged had TIA written as symptom she was treated for.

In ER with elderly mother. Bad enough we have waited for hours, my mother is oxygen dependent and the ER does not even have an oxygen tank for her. They had to stick us in a back room, very isolated for hours so they could plug her into a wall unit. I get everyone has to "wait their turn" but they need to consider age of the patient. This is very hard on the elderly. We will never be back to Baptist ER.
