I recently had a Kidney Stone and recieved from Dr. Hallal and KMC to have the stone removed. Dr. Hallal takes great pride in taking care of his patients. He makes each one feel as if they are part of his immediate family. I experienced the same care from the employees of KMC. Having a Kidney Stone removed can be kind of embarrassing because of the area that is focused, but the employees of KMC all made me feel at ease before, during, and after my procedure. They talked to me before the procedure to let me know what was going to happen even though I was not going to be awake to experience it. They let me know when I would wake up and what to expect when I was waking up. The nurses also went to great lengths to explain what I was do when I went home, they explained the medication and when to take it, they also explained how to care for that embarrassing focused area if any pain was felt. I felt like I was in good hands with the people of KMC. The staff was also very courteous of my spouse and made sure she was aware of what was happening to me and where I was. The physician performing my procedure came to me before and explained what he was going to do and explained to my spouse wht to expect when I came out. He also visited her after the procedure to let her know how the procedure wnt anf how I was. The facility is very clean and the employees are professional, courteous, and always have a smile and will talk to you. This is a new facility that I fully believe has a bright future. If anyone needs hospital care including outpatint procedures, I would highly recommend Kentuckiana Medical Center.

They deserve 0 stars! I was there for 3 days, allowed to shower 1 time and there was mold growing in the shower. Their version of cleaning the room was mopping only the bathroom 1 time and bringing me sheets to change on my own. The nurses are very rude and unhelpful. Always complaining about being over worked. One even saying they make them stay over and work other areas so patients dont know how many hours they really work. After surgery a tech pulled me from my room where I was eating (had to keep food down before leaving) he did not verify who I was. I was given radiation for a lung scan. He abruptly stopped the scan wouldnt say anything and took me to my room. I started throwing up everywhere. He had the wrong patient!!! I was given radiation by mistake!! Not to it was supposed to be a fasting scan and he pulled me out of eating for it. I have had a headache ever since. They turned that bill into collections, refuse to speak with me. Thats okay Morgan & Morgan law offices state its to big of a case for them and told me who to contact. Guess you should have responded when I was willing to settle with all bills being erased. Do not use this hospital they will try to kill you. As they did my aunt. She did not know what happened to me, went there and was kept for three days. They said there was nothing wrong with her. She was taken straight from their parking lot to Floyd where she was admitted with two separate infections in her heart. Cdiff and an anurisim in her brain and stomach. She was kept until she passes. Had they treated her properly that may not have happened.

Our familys experience is definately one that we will never have another family member come here again, My mother in law was transfered here from Kings daughters in Madison, IN against our wishes and against her wishes only because her heart doctor, Dr. Chris Stavens, said it would be the best care for her. When she was in Kentuckiana back a few months ago, mind you in ICU, she fell and broke her ankle after I asked the nurses to check on her and please put the bed alarm on her because she kept getting out of bed due to how her sleeping meds were affecting her. She ended up having to have a metal plate and screws placed through a major surgery due from that injury and the nurses said it was her fault and mine, I stayed day and night with her for 3 months. Now she is back, against our wishes and the nurses are making up policies that are not in writing and also not cleaning her, she had to sit in her own feces for over 11 hours before she took a turn for the worse and when the family came to visit her a few days ago we walked in to her taking her last breaths due to the negligence of the nursing staff not noticing she was suffocating in her pillow and not able to move on her own to get out of the pillow! Do not come to this hospital, you will be lucky if your family member makes it out alive.

I would never recommend this hospital to anyone. There were two nurses there on the night shift that were awesome. One was a male nurse named Chris and the other was a little black nurse with red lipstick and a lot of Spunk. All the other nurses we had to deal with for rude and treated my family inhumanely. My mom was in there in really bad shape due to her heart. After running several test for 2 days the doctor told her there was nothing they could do for her surgery was not an option because her heart was not strong enough. They decided to run a few more tests and not seeing any point in it ,my mother declined. From that moment on she got treated like dirt .She was refused food, breathing treatments when she was having a really hard time breathing , help to the potty when she couldnt go herself. They told her she could hold it and when she couldnt hold it any longer she started messing herself she told someone and they said to just finish in the bed. Then she was kicked out and told that since she refused the test she needed to sign paper saying she was leaving against medical advice and leave. They were not nice about it they were very cold .

horrible experience would not go back did not see a physician for 2 days a doctor did a check for heart blockage and we did not find out for two days that it was negative and that was by a male night shift nurse. Supplies are low thier employees are dedicated despite not getting paid. bathroom was dirty moved to 4 diffrent rooms during visit due to units closing and reopening. A long haired girl in a dress came in my room from management but did not listen to my complaints as she was busy texting employees on her phone while we talked and she kept saying ah huh while I was talking and she was reading messages on cell phone. Overall could be a nice place but seems being bankrupt has made it far inferior to other hospitals now when you go there you have to wonder if they are only keeping you here or ordering test because they need the money I have been here with other family memebers about two years ago and the quality of care has gone way south and even though the employees do not show it you can tell the morale is low
