Dr. Shepherd always gives a competent and thorough exam. He has time to answer your questions and makes sure you understand your condition and treatment before you leave. I think so much of him as an opometrist and person that I carry and pass out his cards to people I meet with vision issues. No, I dont put my name on them and get a finders fee or discount services either. I do it as a service to people needing quality, compassionate eye care from the most competent OD I know. He treats both adults and adolescents. I am not sure about toddlers. You may want to ask first. It does not take weeks to get in to see him either. If your current optometrist is doing an okay job for you, try Dr. Shepherd for a better patient experience. Since I live in Valley Station, I prefer the Preston location in the front of Sams Club. (No. He is not in Sams and you dont need a Sams card to see him.) I have traveled out to the east end to see him also. Its only an extra 15 minutes.

He is the best optometrist Ive ever had! Hes been my eye dr for years now and always does a very thorough exam. He even recommended "computer" glasses for me recently that have been SO wonderful! I had cataract surgery about 10 yrs ago and after that, I had a problem with my "intermediate" vision...I could see far away or close up (with "readers"), but without corrective lenses, I didnt have good focus for using the computer. So, now I use no line lenses that allow me to see close up for reading AND "intermediate" lens correction for computer screen distance. My daughter sees Dr. Shepherd also as her eye dr and thinks hes awesome also. He has a great sense of humor and is a wonderful doctor! Get an appt with him and Ill bet you will agree hes the best Optometrist youve ever had!! He also gives you great tips about your vision that NO other dr has ever told me and Ive been wearing corrective lenses (glasses/contacts) for about 40 yrs!!

Dr Shepherd provides an excellent exam for a great price. If you have ever had a problem seeing, this is the place to go! He will take the time to answer questions and get it right. He has a great sense of humor and a care for his patients. Best exam I have ever had!

Dr. Shepherd provided a thorough eye exam--one of the best eye exams Ive had! Gordon (his assistant) was very helpful and patient throughout the entire process of exploring the option of using contacts. Im very pleased with my experience!!!
