As a fellow dog owner, I read reviews often and value feedback of peoples experiences so I wanted to share mine just as an FYI. Mind you, this was my experience and it may differ from others who have been there. After bringing her to bocage animal hospital twice I can guarantee we will never be returning. The first time, I picked her up and she was not acting like herself - very timid, somewhat nervous and noteably lethargic. She also had some unusual marks near her rear, but when I called to ask about it they said nothing happened. I passed it off as she just spent the weekend in a new place and hadnt yet adjusted. The next time I was going out of town, I decided to give it a second try. Dropped her off and the weekend went by without any word from them so I assumed it all went fine. When I picked her up, the first thing the woman who brought her to me said was, "oh she JUST slipped outside and hasnt been putting pressure on her back legs. If shes still hurting tomorrow, bring her in and we can give her an anti-inflammatory shot". Hmm...okay, accidents happen I suppose. But she was acting out of sorts again which made me concerned. I was about to walk out the door when I realized they didnt give me back the bag I had brought all her things in. So I asked about it, which lead to a few different answers. Finally, a gentleman said he would go to the back and get it. When he brought the bag, I looked inside to find that over half of her food I packed was still inside! So they were about to send me on my way without mentioning anything... I asked if she didnt eat because thats extremely out of character for her (my dog is a big foodie). He said "oh she wasnt really eating except for when we fed her our food we have here". Which made me a little upset because every dog owner knows if youre transitioning food, its supposed to be gradual. Plus, no one had even called me to ask! When I got her home that night, her breathing was shallow and she didnt move from one spot the entire night (her lethargy may be due to an upset stomach from the food they fed her). I also discovered a large gash on her mouth and ulcers inside - neither of which were there when I dropped her off! It was all just very peculiar and no one could seem to give me clear answers. What really goes on inside this place I may never know but I can guarantee that was the last time we go there.

I was given an estimate of $135-$190 for a teeth cleaning on a small
yorkie/poodle mix. When I picked my Lola up, the bill was over $270. Not only would the office manager not correct the situation, but she was extremely rude. ...also, many charges on the bill seemed like multiple charges for the same thing under a different name. For example, I was charged for anesthesia and then for the anesthesia drug by name. The doctor is very nice, but the clinic is run in a very rude and disrespectful manner. I would never bring any of my three dogs there again. I have never experienced such rude, thoughtless, poor customer service anywhere else as I did at Bocage Animal Hospital. Do yourself a favor and choose a different veterinary clinic.

We have been taking our dogs to Bocage for veterinary services since they were puppies. Dr. Smith is an excellent vet and always treats them well. The front counter staff is hit or miss. We use their boarding service all the time and they love to charge you for miscellaneous services without getting your consent. We have told them repeatedly not to bathe our dogs because they are always clean when we drop them off and always dirty when we pick them up even after paying $25 for a bath and nail trim that we did not request. Basically the staff never respects your wishes and if you need something done the way you want it you have to go to the trouble of speaking directly with Dr. Smith. I recommend the vet services but NOT the kennel.

I have been bringing my pets to Bocage for years. Everyone was so caring and supportive last year when my little Biskit passed suddenly. He never felt scared coming to Bocage for both his vet visits and for boarding. Now I have two rescue pets (cat and dog), and they both feel at home here. This is very important to me because in years past I have gone to vets where my animals acted very nervous. I love the fact that Biskit used to run up to the front door, and now Bo does the same. I board Bo regularly as well. Thank yall for being so good to our animals!

Dr. Bud and the staff at Bocage Animal Hospital are friendly, compassionate, and competent, and treat my dog Drew like family. From yearly check ups to nail trims to boarding and surgery, I have been very impressed and happy with their care of Drew. After a recent surgery, the staff called several times to check on him, and Dr. Bud personally called me to report the lab findings. Drew is happy to visit everyone and stay for a weekend. He even lets them trim his nails. Thank you to everyone for providing the absolute best care for Drew.

My experience here was excellent. I had to take my dog in for a minor surgery and everybody that works here from the receptionist to the Dr and his associates are so very nice and compassionate towards the animals. Its also a very welcoming atmosphere and doesnt look or smell like the average vet place which made my fur baby feel comfortable right from the beginning. Definitely one of the best places Ive been!

Questions or Comments: Dr. Bud, Karryne and the staff at Bocage Animal Hospital definitely practices their mission of "high quality and compassionate care". Sissy gets very excited each time she visits. Unlike other dogs who cry at the vet, Sissy cries to get in the door to go into the back! They have been there for us every step of the way for the past 15 amazing years. I highly recommend.

I cant thank the staff at Bocage Animal Hospital enough for their kindness. My little Angie was 18 years old and her health was failing. They helped us through thyroid problems and seizures and because of the quality of care and encouragement my little cat lived another good year before she passed away. Thank you Karryne for your comfort and support when I had to say goodbye to my friend.

We brought our dog here for boarding during our wedding weekend and honeymoon week. I had a great first impression of the clean and inviting facilities. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Our dog was here for ten days, and she looked happy and healthy when we picked her up. The boarding fees are among the lowest I know of, so with all this in mind, we will be definitely be back.

I wish Dr. Smith treated people too! My English bulldog Polo adores the staff and how they keep him healthy, they always remind us when its time for shots, boosters, and they even call the day after to make sure he didnt have any side effects, talk about customer service!! Best prices on tick and flea preventatives. Everyone is super sweet and knowledgeable. 100% recommended :)
