Ive never used the health center for anything other than mental health, so I cant speak on the medical aspects. Ive been seeing my therapist for a year and a half and its great to get mental health care included in my tuition. Ive had positive experiences with my therapist, but negative experiences with the psychiatrist I was assigned. Other people I know have had great experiences with the psychiatrists, so maybe I just pulled a bad straw.

LSU student health center is a damn joke. They treat you like crap and talk you out of being sick. They tell you if have an emergency then you should go to the ER, but when you call to be a walk-in they tell you they can only take you if it is an emergency.. so you agree then they say "how does in 4 days sound?" seriously?

I have been a student paying the fees for 5 years and never used this place once. They turned me away on my last semester because i was not full time. All they care about is money, not students wellbeing.

The SHC was so amazingly helpful to me and I cannot say how much I appreciate them. They were very cognizant of my limitations and treated me accordingly.
