These people operated on the two dogs that belong to a friend who had a heart attack, and left them with the daughter of one of his neighbors. She jokingly said that he might not get them back!, and he told her from the gurney that he damned sure would! He lost everything he owned in the flood of August 2016, and could not find the phone number he was given, and went from shelter to shelter, before we found him and brought him to our home. He hated to ask if he could bring his dogs here, but we assured him it was fine, and he finally located and called the lady, no answer so he left a message on the 6th. She called back on the 7th, and said that she would bring them to him. When she arrived, she only had the female and her meds and stuff...when asked about the male, he was told that the dogs had been spayed and neutered! He was not asked, and never gave her permission to have this done to his beloved pets. He was devastated, he had planned to have the female bred to get a puppy for his grandson. These dogs cost from $500.-$1,200. and the vet was gracious, but said it was not his fault, he cant remember all the dogs he sees, and they did not show us any paper showing who had signed for the surgery, only told us we only owed for the vacinations, but not the surgeries...so, who paid for that? I am looking for an attorney to sue the woman, as the sheriff said it is a civil suit. The surgery is a butchery, the male dog is cut up horribly. The females incision is better, but she is vomiting a lot today... In checking another persons review of his pet that died after taking the medication Rimadyl, and looking up the side effects of vomiting, lethargy, etc...we have decided to cease those pills and are praying that the dogs live. I waited for 2 hours in waiting room just to be told to just drop my pet off and to come back. Right before they closed I called because I hadnt heard anything about my pets surgery. My pet had been ready for a while, they just didnt call me and they were about to close within 30 minutes. Were they planning on keeping him over night because they were to unorganized to call me? Would they have forced me to pay an overnight stay fee because of their mistake? When I picked him up they gave him to me checked me out, and were about to let me leave without telling me a single thing that they did to him. I had to ask to speak to the vet about what they even did. I was shocked they actually took him without telling me a single thing what theyd do, I was shocked when I had to call right before close to see what was even going on. I was shocked when they checked me out and tried to send me on my way without telling me a single thing.(just: heres your cat, give us your money) . In another instance I called on a day they were closed with a situation I felt very serious ( as it has been before) and the voicemail gave the vets number to contact. I contacted them and they read my message (read reciepts are on) and never replied to me. Take your number off the vets office voicemail if youre going to ignore scared clients who need advice. Very negative experiences every time at this animal hospital. I wouldnt recommend it to anyone. Extremely disorganized, not helpful, VERY disappointed.

Great doctors but the worst staff possible. Boarded my dog here for 4 days and she came back with a Urinary Tract Infection, skin lesions and both eyes weeping and infected. I complained and they tried to charge me another $65 just to get a doctor to see her for the problems their neglect caused. She was supposed to be groomed and guess what? They forgot. Plus, she had mysteriously lost 2 lbs. This was just over a 4 day period. Seems like they forgot she was even there. Needless to say, we are no longer bringing any of our animals to this place. I am also exploring my options for formal complaints to whatever regulatory agency handles vet hospital licensing and possible legal action. Stay away from this place.

My friend had put her dog into be spay Friday , she was released an sent home, only to be brought back the following morning Saturday with pale gums an lethargic. They gave her fluids by IV , knowing she was bleeding internally , they sent a bag of fluid home with her Saturday which they said she need to be picked up by 11am as they close at noon. They refused to open her an find what was causing the bleeding. She was rushed later Saturday afternoon to emergency vet at LSU, where they said she has an abdomen full of blood which could be from a botched spay. Which also means her dog would have most likely died Saturday night from internal bleeding. Think before you use this vet

Because I have been envolved with many cat rescues, my trips to the vet have been more than the norm. With every visit, the staff has been efficient and polite. The vets have been great and very caring and compassionate towards the animals and me. I find them very knowledgeable. Pricing is quite fair. They have been willing to work with me as I bring in injured stray cats. They give out their personsal cell numbers for after hours concerns. I have only had to contact them once. Dr Susan responded quickly and with texts that made me feel that my concerns were not a bother. I highly recommend this animal hospital. Marilyn

I picked up my dog after a three night stay and she was matted in her own urine. Her fur is so matted we may have to shave it. They claimed it may have been an accident the morning I picked her up, but this has never happened before at any other boarding kennel, and her fur is matted, not just soaked in urine. It is disgusting and they dont need a staff change, they need to be closed down. Luckily for them, a lawyer didnt get involved because they refunded me completely. I could have gotten the same effect from just leaving her alone in my bathroom all weekend if that was what I wanted. DONT board your animals here.

Bad experience at this place. First of all, they will NOT take appointments, so it is a first come, first serve basis only. I arrived early Saturday morning for my cats first visit. These people took every other person who arrived AFTER me because they recognized the faces. My cat was so distraught after waiting in his carrier for over an hour that the last thing he wanted was someone poking at him. The lady vet was scared to death of my cat. She hurried and gave him his shots and did not do anything else. POOR care and service for over $100.

I brought two dogs in for check-ups. I arrived early and was in to see Dr. Yarnall very quickly. My oldest dog received his Rabies vaccine after a thorough check up. He is nervous and she made him very comfortable. She even clipped his nails without a problem (Something I cant do). He was a rescue dog, so to me, this meant everything. She also did a thorough exam of my new puppy. He loved her immediately. I will gladly return to DSAH. By the way, the front staff was wonderful! Cudos to the team at Denham Springs Animal Hospital!
