Hi Dr. Perkins! Thank you so much for the humane care and attention you and your staff extened to Sable last Thursday. I was so impressed with your getting down on the floor with Sable to take his temp, his heart and check out his stomach, this froma teacher who believes that good teaching begins with working with the students at their levels. And special thanks for setting up an appointment so quickly at the Referral Center in Scarborough. Youre right. They were wonderful! A CAT scan revealed blood around one node of the liver and around the spleen, and Sable was operated on that afternoon. We picked him up on Saturday. Not until Sunday night did he begin to have an appetite, and now he seems fine. The surgeon called me today to explain the biopsy - nothing on the spleen, but the liver bloody spot was definitely a cancerous sarcoma. She was very clear to explain that this may allow Sable six more months. We are going to visit her for a check-up on Friday the 28th. Is Sables post-cancerous operation condition something you can monitor? Again, we so appreciated your special care of Sable. Peter Horton

Poore Yorkie

My wife took our Teacup Yorkie in for his routine exam and was told by Chip we should have his teeth cleaned as preventative maintenance. We have taken all our pets to Westside over the last 20 plus years and not once did we ever have a recommendation by Chip to have any of our dogs or cats teeth cleaned. My wife was told the procedure would be $235.00. She specifically told him that we did not want to spend a lot of money considering her job might be in jeopardy. She dropped him off on Friday and signed a release for the Anesthesia and cleaning. When she called later in the morning to check on him the Vets assistant told her they had extracted 10 teeth. She proceeded to tell my wife that the bill would be a little less than 900.00 and not the 235.00 that Chip told her. After numerous attempts (6 calls in total) to contact the Vet he would not return our calls. We were never contacted or told prior to the extractions how much these extractions would cost. We have been a faithful patron of Westside and feel completely deceived. After a 20 years relationship with our vet its extremely disappointing that our trust has been broken.

I just want to give kudos to Dr. Perkins and all the staff at Westside Animal Hospital. Dr. Perkins saved our cat Raskal after a traumatic injury last summer. Without him, our beloved tuxedo cat would not be with us today. Even if Raskal hadnt made it, Westside Animal Hospital was amazing through the whole ordeal and I am forever grateful to them. Also, Dr. Perkins has done an excellent job caring for our two pugs whenever we need him.My female pug has allergies and recently had an attack. Westside Animal Hospital helped us to continue care beyond the Animal Emergency Clinic, so we can care for our pug-girl at home the next time this happens. Dr. Perkins truly cares about the animals under his care and is an asset to the veterinary profession. I give this practice 100 gold stars. Highly recommended!

Ive been going to Westside since my dog was 11 weeks old. They have helped me with a broken foot, a UTI and multiple stomach flus. They have comforted me as tears flow because my dog was in pain and have been patient with all my questions and concerns. My dog goes to daycare there as well and he LOVES it. I swear he has withdrawals when I keep him home on my days off. They are a great group of girls and Dr. Perkins is a hoot and is very knowledgeable. He doesnt push for this and that and only suggests what you might want to do. He allows you to make the decision one way or another. Im all about researching things and making sure I have all the facts. Highly recommend this vet for anyone in the area.

I cannot say enough good things about West Side Animal Hospital! They love our animals and are always willing to help us with anything we need. We have 3 dogs and a cat and they have all received top notch care at a very reasonable price. Dr Perkins is very knowledgeable and willing to take plenty of time to explain everything. He was able to make a simple food change that has changed our golden retrievers quality of life. We trust them completely with the care of our pets!

Best Vet and staff in town!! I tried 2 other Vet offices closer to me before trying Westside and wish I would of found them sooner!! I could not be more pleased with the care my dog receives there. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable and doesnt try to push things like the other offices.
