Dr. Sheth is wonderful. His staff, however, HORRIBLE! Rude as can be! I had my daughter at St. Marys medstar in May 2016 and he was the physician on call, when he did her in hospital checkup, her father and I knew, he was our guy, so nice and really showed concern and care. I went into his office for the first checkup and was told her first visit is covered under my insurance until hers became valid and she receives her member id. I handed them my United health care card, through the state, she said thank you and continued with paperwork etc. I got my daughters card in the mail and went to make the 2 week checkup, THEN they want to mention how they do not accept United health care and she hasnt been covered since birth, I asked why no one said anything at the first visit and she called me a liar and said they ALWAYS inform patients of information like that. So I called and got her insurance changed, mind you it was already time for the two week appt, I gave them the doctors name and they said the new card would be to me in 7-10 days. So I called sheths office to make her appt a head of time to sync up with when her card would come in, they said I am not allowed to even make an appt until I have her card in my hand, never heard of that one before. Well they sent a card with the wrong doctors name on it and I figured it wouldnt be a big deal because Im covered in general, they, once again, refused to let me schedule an appt until I have the card with sheths name on it. So I call the insurance people again and they change it to have a corrected card sent and they also give me a reference number to give to sheths office so they can view her correct card online, I called sheths office and told them what the insurance company told me and gave them the reference number, they said that they cant do anything with that reference number and they need her member id number, which I tried to give them off of her red and white card, they said its not the same number, well low and behold, THEY ARE THE SAME DAMN NUMBER! My daughter is almost 2 months old and still has not been seen for her 2 week checkup. I asked why they cant just let me make an appt and verify that her insurance is valid and let me being her card to the appt, they said they DONT HAVE TIME TO VERIFY PATIENTS INSURANCE AND TO GET MY INFORMATION STRAIGHT BEFORE CALLING AGAIN. IT SEEMS AS IF THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THESE CHILDREN AND WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE BEHIND ON THEIR SHOTS BECAUSE THEY CANT DO THEIR JOB TO VERIFY INSURANCE! I have never dealt with such rude staff at a doctors office. Its sad that he as a doctor has to suffer because of the snotty lazy bitches that answer his phones. So needless to say after all of the phone calls to them and the insurance company, I just switched doctors and the new office Im using has no problem verifying her insurance right there in the phone, in 20 seconds and also said its not a big deal what doctors name is on her card.

We just recently moved to the area from Virgina Beach where pediatricians are a dime a dozen and so I was concerned when I moved here that there was so few to choose from. I can honestly say that Dr. Sheth is a wonderful kind soft spoken doctor who really takes the time to explain what is wrong with your child instead of just writing a prescription and sending you on your way. His staff however is rude and very cold. Every time I call to make an appointment they rush me off the phone and when we show up for the appointment they dont take the time to ask the very necessary questions such as has your insurance or any contact information changed. My husband who does not take the kids to the doc often does not know when or if I have given such information and so I have been inconvenienced in having to fax over insurance cards that if it had just been asked it would have been taken care of. I also have called the office to try and make an appointment and as soon as the phone was answered I was in the middle of talking and was cut off and asked with a snippy attitude well is she sick? No you moron I was calling to talk about the weather of course shes sick. And then they quickly and rudely asked if she was a patient and then took her name and hung up without even the slightest have a nice day maam. I mean you work in a pediatricians office if you hate your job that much you should probably get another one. I will now be looking for a new pediatrician because of the staffs rude demeanor and negligence in inputting proper information into my childs records such as his allergy to Penicillin. Probably an important piece of information id think.

So upset with this office! My daughter is now 7 yrs. old and has been going here since she was 3. The secretary they have is horrible and causes continuous problems. Called them last year because we were switching to state insurance only if they accepted it because I do really like the doctor, and was told they did. Made the switch and tried to get them to get copies of our new cards which we were told twice werent needed. After a few appointments (my daughter had streptococcus) and an almost $300 bill, they realized they didnt take our insurance. We happen to have an appointment that day because my daughter was very, very sick but they refused to see her until we paid the balance. She ended up in the hospital that night. Of course now that Im trying to find a new pediatrician every time I call to find out what I need to do to get her records for her new doctor that same secretary tells me something different each time. Its been a month now and I was just finally told I need to go up there and sign a release. Worst of all when I got frustrated and was simply trying to explain what she had told me before to do, I was laughed at and talked to like I was a child and just like she did when she mistakenly told me they excepted state insurance, she denied giving me wrong information. BEYOND frustrated and amazed how unprofessional this woman is!!

I have 2 daughters; 15 and 18. We have been seeing Dr. Sheth for almost 20 years. I feel the need to defend this practice after reading such vulgar and unfair comments written here in Goggle. The relationships I have with this office have developed into friendships that I will cherish the rest of my life. The office staff deserves respect. Why? Because this staff has seen the worst of the worst. There is nothing more heartbreaking than the death of a young child. These people deal with the uncertainty of your call every time you ask to be seen. They are professionals. Please understand that the patient prior to you may have cancer or may being hearing that they have cancer. Dr. Sheths attentiveness, kindness and professionalism is far superior than any other Pediatrician you will find in all of Southern Maryland. You always Put your child first, so do these folks. Have some empathy please.
