I went to see Dr. McConnell for an ingrown nail and possible heel spurs. My appointment was scheduled for 10:30. I arrived no later than 10:15 to fill out their paperwork, which took less than 5 minutes. Dr. McConnell did not walk in to see me until 11:15. I was not impressed with Dr. McConnells bedside manners. His demeanor changed once I started to inquire about the differences in the procedures to take care of the ingrown nail issue as he discussed doing something different than what I had experienced before. I was interested to know the success rate of the procedure Dr. McConnell currently does now (the procedure I had done before lasted me over 18 years) and how it would affect me. Then he began to cut the nail without a numbing agent and was bothered that I would stiffen when he inflicted pain. When he asked if I wanted the area to be numbed, he seemed as if it was bothersome for him to do so. I had to make it a point to ask Dr. McConnell as he was walking out of the room if he was going to look at the X-Rays and tell me what the results were. The patient shouldnt have to remind the doctor what he needs to do, especially since the visit was only approx. 20 minutes. IF, I have to go back for a follow up appointment, it definitely wont be with Dr. McConnell.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr.McConnell in August of 2013. He did my surgery in September and I am an ongoing patient of his. He is always informative on any issue I may have. He is a kind and gentle Doctor. I always went to the Yorktown office so I am partial to his staff there. They are wonderful!!!

While I might not give Dr. McConnell more than a B+ in his "bedside manner," I am going back to see him after four years for a different problem. I trust and respect him.
