Im sure this is a nice place for pets who just need yearly checkup or vaccinations. We took our 5yo dog because of recent changes wed noticed. Vet did a checkup and sent blood off for tests. We paid the bill and was surprised when the receptionist offered an additional test that the vet had already told me he ordered. I mentioned that, and the receptionist said "oh, I didnt notice that". Then she asked for my card again to charge the difference. We were told to drop off a urine sample the following day. I did that, and later received a call telling me that I had to pay for the urine test even though is was supposed to have been included on the previous bill. When I stopped by to pay for that, they charged me another extra amount of money for some sort of "difference in cost" but couldnt explain what the actual difference was or what the cost was for. In addition to all the horrible billing and charges problems, the vet prescribed an incorrect dosage (not enough antibiotic to fight the infection) of medication for my dog and told us to follow up in 2 weeks. We followed up with a different vet after only 8 days, but it proved too little, too late. Despite increasing the medication...we had to have her euthanized this afternoon because of kidney and liver failure as a result of the infection that wasnt treated properly in the beginning. Please do your homework when choosing a new veterinarian and make sure you get second opinions whenever it involves anything other than vaccinations!

Update 4/12/2016 --- Years later and Im still with Old Farm. Dr. Wilson has always been great, we trust him with both our dogs. I must admit I was skeptical about Dr. Hiltner at first because I was so used to working with Dr. Wilson, but Dr. Hiltner is is just as great! They really take their time to listen to us and they do a very thorough exam. The staff is always friendly and professional. Two thumbs up. :-) Earlier review: I tend to ask a lot of questions :-)....yet the staff is consistently friendly and patient with me. I have been using this vet for 2 years now and NEVER had even one problem. The vet and staff really seem to enjoy doing their job, which is part of the reason I keep going there. I also like how the vet is somewhat conservative in his treatments. I feel like hes not going to selll me a bunch of things I dont need for my dog unless its necessary. I have recommended this vet to at least 2 friends already.

We love Old Farm Veterinary Hospital and let me tell you why: 1) The entire office smells, looks and is very clean. 2) The office staff is friendly, knowledgeable and loving to all pets. 3) The doctors are all knowledgeable, caring, friendly and love their job of taking care of pets. Dr. Wilson did surgery on our puppy and did an excellent job. Kudos to Dr. Wilson! 4) Their office is conveniently located with six day a week office hours. There is also plenty of parking and never a long wait on the inside. 5) They do boarding for their customers and take excellent care of all their "patrons." 6) We do suggest the Nationwide all inclusive (sick and well care) pet insurance. Old Farm Vet. has brochures on their counter. 7) This facility is always doing something in the Frederick community to help animals. Its businesses like this that make Frederick a great place to live.

The doctors and staff at Old Farm Vet are awesome! Theyve taken great care of my 13 1/2 year old dog, Blue, since he was 1 year old; and hes still doing great! They treat us like family and truly do care about their 4-legged patients. Both Dr. Wilson and Dr. Hiltner are very knowledgeable and provide the best care. They are very compassionate and only want what is best for Blue and I. Old Farm Vet is basically my one-stop-shop - I get the best care for my dog, they have a great boarding facility and a groomer on staff. And their prices are reasonable. I highly recommend Old Farm Vet!

Old Farm Veterinary Hospital has been in my neighborhood for many years. My pet German Shepherd, AJA, was treated there for her long 13 years. The staff was very attentive and truly cared for my wonderful pet. I also had the opportunity to use the boarding services over long weekends or vacation and was very happy to return to a healthy and happy AJA! I was not always happy to have to pay for shots when boarding, but was happy they insisted. She never experienced any kennel cough or other problems after boarding with Old Farm Vet. I highly recommend Dr. Wilson the the staff!

I cant say enough about Dr. Hiltner, Dr.Wilson and all the Old Farm Veterinary Staff members!! I have been going to Old Farm since moving home from CA 9 years ago. The care and compassion that is given each time I have gone is above and beyond. After losing both my Pit babies within a 9 month period the condolences sent my way will be forever remembered. I will someday soon adopt a new Pit Bull and return to Old Farm as my go to veterinary care because they are the BEST!! THANK YOU OLD FARM - Sharon Sanders XO

Our dog has a serious anxiety issue when it comes to vets and groomers. She may or may not have been banned from at least 1 area PetSmart due to her behavior. But the staff at this vet office has been so patient and caring every time they have treated Peanut, either for annual vaccines or for nail-trimming. Sure, they have to bribe her with a couple-hundred dog treats, but its a small price to pay for the peace of mind. We absolutely love the staff here and would never consider another vet.

Ive been taking both my cats to Old Farm for at least six years and have always been treated well. I recently went through a very difficult situation with one of my cats and the doctors and staff at Old Farm were very kind every step of the way. Dr. Wilson and his staff explained all our options, gave me the necessary time to consider and were supportive through every step. They treat both pets and owners with dignity and respect, and I highly recommend them.

I was very impressed with Dr. Wilson and his staff. While I was expecting an "old farm" to be the veterinary office, I was pleased that the office, located in a strip mall, was very clean, well lit and easy to find. Although, it was buzzing with activity, things were running very smoothly and efficiently. My wait time was reasonable and in no way and at any time did I feel that I was being rushed. Was very pleased with everything. Will be back.

The veterinarians at the office are really nice and always helpful as well as the staff. Unfortunately I feel like the cost of vaccinations is really high. In my case two dogs was almost $700 for vaccinations and heartworm meds for 6 months. I dont know if thats normal or if they gave me more shots than my dogs needed. Either way, I may be looking for a new vet just because I cant spend more on my dogs health than my own.
