I LOVE Gaithersburg Animal Hospital. Ive taken my dogs here for over 8 years. We usually see Dr. Dan but Ive seen most of the other vets too. All of the vets are great! Theyre all very knowledgeable about dogs and very caring. I ask many questions, and all of the vets answer all of my questions. They dont rush me to get to the next appointment. Dr. Dan returns my phone calls promptly and he gives me detailed explanations for all of my questions. I like that he doesnt recommend needless tests for my dogs, so I trust his judgement. My dogs have boarded at Gaithersburg Animal Hospital. Theyve always come back clean and happy. The front office staff is very helpful and knowledgeable too. Theyll always fit me in for an appointment when something urgent has happened. The hours of the clinic are great too--very accommodating for working people. I cant say enough good things about this vet. In fact, I live 15 miles from it and still wouldnt take my dogs anywhere else!

We have been loyal customers of GAH for just about 15 years now. I loved GAH, and referred everyone I knew in need of a vet to them any chance I could. After Dr.Mike left I would say there was a definite change. Shortly there after Dr.Cheryl left as well. I have not been impressed with the services I have received. There is a lady that works as the "Front asst Manager" who is just a snob and really over bearing. As soon as I walked in for my 5 dogs sick appt she starts talking about all sorts of other things needing to be done, and was relentless. They say they will call with a follow up to discuss how things are going and never call. You call with questions and people never get back to you. What is most upsetting is it seems like it has gone from a place where they genuinely care about your pet to a place where they care mostly about making there money then caring for your dog. Needless to say we are switching vets.

We have been loyal clients for years, never really feeling as though the quality of care warranted the high prices, and needed a specific procedure for traveling. They repeatedly gave us false information, assuring us it was correct, and then took no responsibility when it didnt work out at all. We had to come back to the Gaithersburg Animal Hospital many times to correct their mistake and they charged us every single time. When asking for a refund, they claimed ignorance and and attempted to blame customs workers and the overseas vet. We strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere. If you dont mind incompetence, high prices, and irresponsibility, then this is the place for you.

Ive occasionally tried other vets closer to our home but always come back to GAH because they are the best. Weve brought them 30 years of cats, parrots, exotic lizards, exotic hamsters, and more here for medical care and boarding. The doctors and staff are always friendly and professional. I would consider their prices reasonable for the services my pets have needed. While they always mention all the therapeutic options, they NEVER insist on trying the super-expensive thing first when my older pets have poor quality of life, which I also appreciate.

Great service, a little pricey though. Hey its not Petsmart! They have always accommodated same day sick visits for whatever reason, dog or cat. We have been customers for over 20 years with different cats and dogs. We have been through Dr. Dans semi retirement and still receive great service from the other vets & surgeons @ GAH. The email reminders for check ups and shots are awesome and the phone call appointment reminders are better then my own Dr. We have used their boarding service for our dog and have been very pleased with the service.

I have been a client of this clinic for more than fifteen years with multiple generations of cats and dogs. You will not find a more knowledgeable, friendly and caring team of animal professional in the greater Washington DC area. All of the doctors go by their first names and the front office staff never ever forgets a pets name. It is amazing how they keep up with it all. You will not regret having all of your animals health care needs accommodated in this clinic.

My cat came back from them recovering overnight from a surgery cringing, believing that people hit cats. They relented on the bill when I demanded to see the overnight video (they keep video, their secretary let that slip). They also tried to charge me for a day of treatment when they had her 10 hours. Cheapskates who hire unqualified, possibly abusive staff. Buyer beware.

Will not fill prescriptions from other veterinarians unless vets from this facility have seen your pet. Took my youngest cat here when he was a kitten and he was given a medication that my current vet would not have ever given a kitten. Will not ever go back here. I recommend everyone make the longer trip to Laytonsville Veterinary Practice instead!

Deborah Dec. 23, 2011 Ive been taking my basset hound there for 10 years, and wouldnt go anywhere else. No long waits, and the doctors are all kind, compassionate and well-informed. They take a personal interest in details about my dog, and are efficient about making follow-up calls to check on a sick pets condition.

Drs. Dan and Mike are the greatest...good prices...very caring... Cant understand Matt below because he then says hes been loyal customers for years and then trashes them....Karen talks about the owner, but the "owners" are brothers not one person...what are these people talking about!!!!

Great service. Every time I call the phone is answered on the first or second ring. My questions are answered quickly. Visits have been efficient as well, with waits less than 5 minutes. No complaints here!
