last night I went to the ER as I am 6 weeks pregnantand I thought as if something was wrong so I rushed myself to this emergency room about 10 oclock at night.I did not get out until about 2 a.m. and which my best friend as well as my boyfriend was accompanying me.there was a security guard named David Simmons Jr that said on his ID tag who decided to tell us that we cannot come back in the building after we had checked out even though it was 2 a.m. when we went back inside he decided to follow us and tell us that we could not go in there.my boyfriend is black and he decided when my boyfriend went in to ask if we were able to go back into the fact it was late he questioned my boyfriend what he was doing and then once again followed him in once my boyfriend came to get me and my friend.he started yelling at us saying that we were not allowed to do that and that we actually had to leave he started yelling and telling us that we were trespassing and what we were doing was wrong and then he decided to actually call the police and tell them that they needed to be there Im priority answer and giving him descriptions of us.the lady at the desk told my boyfriend that we were able to go back in however the security guard decided that it was his role to tell us that we were unable to do so he escalated the situation even though I told him that he was and he was supposed to be above the situation due to his duty.when the police got there they showed up with five cars they even told us that we needed to get out of her over that were already waiting on it was already there and they then just have to question us.when they questioned us they then decide that obviously they did not need to be there and they let us go with him literally 2 minutes.this entire situation was very very unnecessary and Im very unhappy as hell mr. Simmons Jr carried himself.he was arrogant disrespectful and just kept telling us that he was a supervisor and he was security or whatever visually he said was supposed to go.I am waiting on the business coordinator supervisor to give me a call back in hopes that we can work this out but how this was handled was very unprofessional and not okay do not go here if you dont want to be harassed.

I was seen at this hospital last Saturday AM. Treated for Bronchitis. Was in a lot of pain, difficulty breathing, and took an Uber roundtrip to this hospital because of the ratings. I got home when I got to the pharmacy to fill my prescription - the pharmacist explained that no one writes this type of prescription up - and that no pharmacy anywhere would have this. I called the ER and a Maxine answered the phone, rudely telling me that she spoke with my pharmacist and Ill have to come back in person because theres nothing anyone can do. I told her I spent $60 round trip and feel extremely sick and someone needs to do something. She said "what do you want ME to do? Just deal with it". I was so upset I asked how they could have such incompetent people there and she hung up the phone on me. I was so upset and so sick, and had to find a way to go back to the ER, another hour round trip because they arent up to date on how to prescribe medicine?! I left a message to the manager and STILL have NOT heard back from anyone. Please, if you think coming here because of the fair reviews will save you time and grief anywhere else, DONT. Just DO NOT come here. This is a horrible way to treat someone who trusted in your organization and staff that they would spend $60 round trip to come to you only to be treated horribly and pushed out the door with the wrong meds. Avoid this hospital at ALL COSTS.

The reason I am writing this review is to help other not go through what i had to go through. The service was very good. I am happy with the service. But the billing department is ONE OF THE WORST IN THE WORLD. when you go there they will tell no need to show the insurance right card now. you can show later. there is no good intention in that. it is a trick to get more money from your pocket than from the insurance. i have a good insurance still i ended up paying 80% of the total bill because i fell into this trap. i had to spent lot of my time to get that 20% from the insurance. there is no inter department communication for billing. Every department (physician, hospital, radiology) dont share the patient insurance or address or billing information with each other. so please make sure that when you come out of the hospital you personally go and update your insurance information and address information in all this department. Radiology department is the worst. if there is any change in your address the radiology department wont even verify your current address. they just assume you still live in your old address if there was a historic record about you 8 years ago. then it will go to collection agency and your credit history will be spoiled.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DO NOT GO! I clearly stated to the admitting nurse that my primary physician had relocated and I just needed a refill on my prescription for predisone for gout. She ushered me through their little system and did not inform me of anything in regards to procedure, did NOT collect my insurance card informing me of any out of pocket expenses and allowed me to get hit with an out of pocket expense of $250!!!!! For what turned out to be a $4 prescription at Walmart. No ethics whatsoever. When I explained how others had charged my copay at $50 for this service in the past they acted like I couldnt read and that it was my fault. Avoid doing business with these people if you are not dying, they are running a complete scam. Also they had me sign a consent for "treatment" AFTER I received it. This has easily been the WORST customer service experience I have ever had.

I am not sure why I even go to this place! When you arrive theres never anyone waiting. So, they check you in and have you waiting for just a little bit. It is when you get to the back and they put you behind the curtain and almost forget that your there. Maybe, if I were having a Heart Attack then I would have been attended to sooner. All I NEEDED WAS X-RAYS! that was now an hour ago and I was still waiting! Shady Grove in general is a talked about hospital that doesnt have a very good reputation! Now I know why. The doctor pretty much talked me out of their ER. You know "The x-rays will only show broken bone and nothing else" "YOU will sent to an orthopedic doctor and theyll give you a prescription for an MRI" Well why are you waiting my time here! So, I left! I will never return there ever! Made very little money from me today!!!!

If I could give this hospital a negative rating I would. The only good thing about this hospital was my emergency room nurse. I was brought in by ambulance with cardiac issues. I have a cardiac history. I passed out because I went into heart block and my blood pressure dropped extremely low. The emergency room physician and the on call cardiologist were two of the most arrogant, pompous, ignorant people I have ever met. Neither of them listened to a word I said nor could they have cared less about me and my health. If you would like to live, then I highly recommend going to any other hospital. This was the worst emergency room visit that I have ever had.
