I made an egregious error in assuming that the type of awesome care I received at Fairfax hospital (which saved my life), was something that was in place in the whole Inova system. I was absolutely dead wrong. This is one of the worst place for mental health treatment outpatient treatment I have had the misfortune of encountering. The lack of professionalism from top to bottom is ridiculous. You have doctors who literally dont listen to what you say and ignore the diagnosis from previous doctors despite those very doctors notes being in their system and nurses and receptionists who dont answer calls or return messages even if you are damn near in a crisis mode. If you need help right away, seriously avoid this place (even if you are like me and were really trying hard to avoid having to go through the uncomfortable process of getting a new doctor updated on your history and think settling witha doctor due to him already having your records would make your life easier. It will not).

Mushref is insufferably rude and arrogant. He wrongfully assumed that I was an addict, and has repeatedly told me that my dissociative symptoms (as diagnosed by a team of doctors at a hospital specializing in PTSD and Dissociation) are not a sign of trauma induced dissociation, but rather are "symptoms" of my "addiction." He constantly cuts me off and repeatedly refuses to answer my questions about medications and treatment plans. He also continually insults the specialists I see for PTSD/Dissociative treatment even though he does not specialize in those areas. He is quite possibly the worst Dr I have ever had the misfortune to speak with. INOVA randomly assigned me to him, I did not pick him. Be warned, INOVA has a no Dr switching policy and so when I called to ask to see a different Dr in INOVAs network, I was told it was against policy to allow changes. I am now looking for a replacement outside INOVAs system.

Please if you can avoid this office, do. These people either lack the competence to take care of their patients, or just the empathy to follow through. My experience has been almost bad enough for me to give up on taking care of my psychological health.

Was under the care of Dr Lisa Calusic here. Was misdiagnosed and was also told my insurance was out-of-network after being in their outpatient program and also a patient of Dr Calusic for months. My patient rights were violated by the whole staff here.
