If I could give a zero I would. Im going to keep it short and simple. This place is filthy dirty and the vets here, Mr. And Mrs. Byers, are awful. My dog, that Ive had for 10 years, passed away because of their negligence. She had a simple exploratory surgery to remove a cyst in her leg and passed away 11 days later at the Emergency Critical Care in Leesburg, Va due to a severe infection that couldve been avoided considering I brought her back in to see them and called several times during that 11 day period. The staples were coming out and her leg was swollen and they did nothing. I took her into them the day before she passed because she couldnt use her leg, lethargic and wasnt eating and still, they did nothing but gave a few shots and sent her home within 5-10 minutes. The very next morning we rushed her to Va where she later died due to the severe infection in her leg that spread throughout her entire body thanks to the quacks at PARK CIRCLE. Total negligence. Please dont go here!!!! If you care about your pets choose another vet!!! There are several other negative reviews so please beware.

Wish I could rate a BIG FAT ZERO here. My sisters dog is in another emergency vet office due to the lack of knowledge the vets at Smithsburg possess. She had a blockage in her intestines and stomach, and rather than perform surgery, they wanted to do xrays EVERY HOUR. No blood work performed until my sister requested it. Took her to Mountainview vet - another incompetent facility. The THIRD vet she took her to said this blockage should have been removed right away based on the xray and blood work. Instead, my sisters dog suffered for 5 days with 3 visits between this vet and the other incompetent vet in the area. Thankfully our local vet in Southern MD knew what he was doing. But due to the amount of time that passed, my sisters dogs organs are now trying to shut down. Shes back with our local vet for more care....I pray she makes a full recovery. Smithsburg will be hearing from my sister... To add insult to injury, this vet has NEVER followed up...they also seem to have a hard time operating a fax machine to send records to competent vet offices.

Fabulous vet! The husband and wife team that run this office are the best. My roommate and I had a life or death emergency with one of our 5 week old puppies but didnt get our money for another two days. So we called Park Circle and explained the situation. Instead of saying too bad no money no care like most vets would, the receptionist called Dr. Ben Byers at home on his day off and got clearance to see our little man even though we couldnt pay up front. If they had been unwilling to do this, the prognosis may well have been grave for the little guy but the wonderful team at Park Circle gave our boy the best chance for a full recovery. I love Park Circle!

We have 5 cats. Park circle does all the routine maintenance and service for all of them. When Junior was about 8 months old he came down with Parvo virus. We rushed him to Park Circle where he was hospitalized for 1 week. Dr. Byers and the staff pumped him full of antibiotics and kept him hydrayted through an IV. Miracluously he survived and today he is a very healthy 13lb cat. Everybody went beyond the call of duty for Junior and thats probably why he doesnt mind going back there even though they neutered him. The bill was reasonable too. We wouldnt think of taking any of our critters anywhere else.

Dr. Byers (both of them) are the best. They know dogs and make the patient at ease. Folks say they know cats too but I have a dog and drive 50 miles to see them. Dr. Byers loves what he does and it shows in his caring for your best friend. I have read a few of the reviews and it seems both lower reviews are of pets at the end of life which is always difficult, and expensive anywhere you go because of the manpower required to treat pets at the end of their wonderful life. I would go nowhere else. Ive had 2 dogs put down there and yes it was costly but very much worth every penny.

We recently had to have our beloved cat, Buddy (14 yrs old) put to sleep..the staff and doctor were wonderful and compassionate during the whole process.Buddy had been seen here since we moved to Hagerstown 2 years ago. EVERYONE at this office is great: the receptionists/front desk staff, techs and vets...they were always available to see our cat on the same day he was ever ill and required treatment...(also very reasonable fees)...highly recommend this facility and plan on using it in the future when we have another cat (or dog) in our home again.

Awful, inexperienced vets. Our cat was put to sleep over a bladder infection that was misdiagnosed all because they gave him the wrong medication. He wasnt even 2 years old. This is also the fault of the person who adopted the cat from us. Her ignorance, along with Park Circles inexperience got a very young cat put to death over something so simple. They are also trying to tell us that the brother of said cat, needs to be put down because hes "infected" with the same thing his brother had, even though he is not sick AT ALL. This place is AWFUL.

I had a dear old dog with cancer who developed serious complications and was suffering terribly, called my vet to have him compassionately put down and turned out the doctor was out of town for 4 days. The secretary told me to try Park Circle. Not only did they make time for me within an hour, but we and our dog received the kindest, most sensitive and supportive care you could ever hope for. It was very hard to say goodbye to our old friend. God bless you all at Park Circle -thank you for helping us through a hard day!

I have 5 dogs: 2 Chihuahuas and 3 Labrador retrievers. I have been getting nothing but the best care for all of them since 2011, and we have had a few very challenging medical problems. I live in WV and drive to Hagerstown to see these guys. I have found the doctors (all of them) to be knowledgeable and experienced, and all are very compassionate people. Wholehearted recommendation. The only place I trust with my pets! I have a dog, cat and bearded dragon and they are very well taking care of each and every time we visit. All my questions have been answered and everyone there absolutely loves animals.

This place is terrible! I got my cat declawed and they kept him in his carrier the entire time. There was dried pee in the carrier and peices of his nails in the carrier as well. I do not recognmend this place at all.

I take my German Shepherd here and I couldnt be happier with the experience. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Prices are very fair and they did not try to tack on unneeded tests as other vets in the area would.

Extremely helpful and caring staff. Highly recommend. I dont even live in Maryland anymore but I still bring my pups here when I get a chance to come back to town.
