LVH just keeps on impressing the heck out of me, and it is especially key as Im dealing with a cancer diagnosis. I moved to Leesburg last July, and after getting overcharged too many times by Pender, I looked for a vet closer to home and found LVH. My dog has had a cough that has progressed since 2013 or so, and the diagnoses have ranged from allergies to heart disease to acid reflux (all the treatments ineffective). Buddy is 17 years old, but in otherwise great shape, and I was not expecting much from the new visit except to establish a new record closer to my new home. Immediately from walking in the door, the experience was phenomenal -- the staff is professional, courteous and helpful (even calling around to find me the best price on a medication...turned out it was Wal-Mart) and the vets are extremely caring and skilled. Dr. Kloer took extra attention to our concerns and ended up calling for an x-ray, finding a tumor in Buddys lung that had gone undetected at the other vets (she also reviewed older x-rays that Buddy had over the prior year, to find the tumor going as far back as February 2014). (This far exceeded our outcome at Pender, which I feel obligated to harp on about because I used to be a huge fan...I had been going there for the better part of two decades for iguana, dog, cats -- but left because the costs are so extreme and the service has gotten inconsistent.) After finding the tumor, Dr. Kloer referred me to other vets for the next level of scans (the also fantastic folks at the iMed Life Center in Leesburg and the Bush veterinary center in Leesburg), and they found the tumor, and where it had spread. Next step is the oncologist. I want to add that even on days when she was scheduled for surgeries, Dr. Kloer has been incredible about keeping me well informed about test results and coordination with the doctors offsite who did Buddys CT scan and biopsy. Instead of having to call her for follow-up, she almost daily reaches out to me to check in on us and find out what latest results show, and when she left for a trip, set up another great vet, Dr. Doering, as her backup (yet still suggested shed check email...). Just amazed how much attention shes given us, and the speed. Weve also had phenomenal experience with Dr. Doering in our short time at LVH -- she is a true master of her craft (pain treatment), understanding the intricacies of Buddys muscle and joint issues (turns out he has no arthritis, but a good bit of muscle pain). After one physical therapy (accupuncture, laser and massage) treatment, he had a spring in his step, and looking forward to scheduling more. Could not recommend these folks more.

Bottom line up front - this is the finest Animal Treatment Facility I have EVER dealt with, EVER. I am writing this review from Afghanistan...my wife is located back in Leesburg, and our six year old German Shepherd mix- Buck - owes his life to the ladies at Leesburg Veterinary Hospital. I have not had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Strickland. However, I personally spoke with Dr. Kloer and Dr. Boyle, and I will tell you that these ladies CARE. My wife spent the better part of the day there yesterday, and the staff made her feel at home. Buck went in after a horrific accident. He was immediately treated for his trauma. After he was stabilized, the staff took superb care of him, and when he required care overnight, they did every bit of the coordination for him to be transferred to an overnight facility, and then back to their office in the morning. This may have been one of the most traumatic events of my wife and my life, exacerbated further by the fact I am deployed. However, the Leesburg Veterinary family took every ounce of worry and fear out of the entire process. Both Dr. Kloer and Dr. Boyle took time out of their incredibly busy schedules to personally speak with me on the phone, despite telling my wife all the same information. The Veterinary Tech staff is also beyond phenomenal! They too took time to make sure my wife was informed and comfortable, despite the horrible circumstances. The front office staff was also very supportive and helpful. I want to personally recognize Ms. Tegler, the office manager. She was so concerned with the proper care of our furry guy that the LAST thing she was concerned about was finances. She personally cares so very much about her patients, that she cried with me on the phone with me and made a personal effort to ensure I had all the information as if I was there, despite being over 7,000 miles away. I am so grateful for all the staff here - they care for their patients as if they were their own animals. Their non-emergency service is just as phenomenal. As a military family, we have gone through a NUMBER of vets, and I can honestly tell you, there is not a better vet in the US, let alone in Leesburg. If you are looking for a great vet and you live within 100 miles of Leesburg, look no further!

I was referred to this veterinary hospital by a local greyhound adoption group. My greyhound is very sensitive to anesthesia and I needed to find a vet who understood that and would listen to my concerns. Since I am well versed in greyhound medicine, I wanted to be sure that I could be part of the discussion when it came to my dogs care and not just brushed off as an average pet owner who reads too much :) The folks at Leesburg Vet have been really great, and even marked my dogs file with the explicit anesthesia warning. The techs and staff have also been great. Recently, my cat, who was under the care of another vet hospital, became very ill and needed an ultrasound. Because his regular vet didnt have an opening for several days, I scheduled him to have the ultrasound at Leesburg. Unfortunately, the morning we had scheduled the procedure, my cat took a turn for the worse and we had to go to the emergency vet instead. The LVH staff put me on the phone with Dr. Doerling, who was to have done the procedure at Leesburg, while I was at the e-vet. Dr. Doerling was kind enough to explain to me possible scenarios for the symptoms my cat was experiencing and gave me questions to ask the internist at the e-vet. Moreover, she took the time to call me later that day to follow up. And then when we had to euthanize my cat at the e-vet, she sent me a condolence card. This cat was not her patient, was not a patient at all at LVH, yet she cared enough to follow up with me and send a sympathy card. My cats regular vet followed up with a phone call, but I have received no card or anything else. To make matters worse, my other cat had to be euthanized four days later at our regular vets office. I have not received a card or any form of condolence from them for her either. From now on, all my pets will go to Leesburg Veterinary Hospital. They are competent, compassionate and have an excellent facility to boot.

Warm and welcoming from the moment you pull into the driveway. The hospital is gorgeous - complete with stunning stonework, woodwork, and a cozy fireplace but the beauty is only reinforced by the friendly and accommodating staff! We have two sweet babies - a 9 year old Golden Retriever, Kenzie, and a 6 year old Shiba Inu, Chance. Shibas are extremely suspicious and finicky pups so we werent exactly sure how hed handle the new environment when we first started at L.V.H. Dr. Willkom was our first veterinarian and Chance developed a special fondness for her from the very beginning. The entire staff is wonderful but Dr. Willkom is particularly genuine and down-to-earth with a knack for calming the stresses we can have when the babies are sick or hurt. And she doesnt just make US feel better! Kenzie practically falls asleep from relaxation and Chance lays down patiently and even takes treats when we are visiting. I know it doesnt seem like much but thats a huge feat for little Shibas! We had a little bit of a sticker shock when we first went to L.V.H. (mainly because we had just relocated to Northern Virginia) but the experience alone is well worth it - you definitely get what you pay for! Leesburg Veterinary Hospital is exceptional!
