I called in because my fog had cloudiness and red tint her left eye, that seemed to be getting worse (I live closer to the Massaponax one but they wanted me to wait 6 days). They said the eye was not something to mess with and fit me in that afternoon (the vet was in 2 surgeries so she could not see us sooner, but a couple if hours was still shorter than 6 days). We got in there and I have the Wellness plan, which i have had for 2 1/2 years and has saved me over $3000. My dog has a thyroid condition which needs testing and constant medication, for the rest of her life. The tech saw us right away, put us in a room. She took Rory, my dog, temp and checked her over and said the vet would be in soon. 5 minutes later the vet came in, i explained the situation with her eye and then I explained my personal situation of being on Shirt term and nit being paid yet. They understood and proceeded to tell me what exactly NEEDED to be done and what COULD be done, and the price. We did everything that had to happen and couple things that still fit in my budget. And to top it off the vet gave me a prescription for rory and said to fill them at a human pharmacy because they would be cheaper since they were human meds as well. We had a long wait when the vet was checking her eye and getting other things done, but seeing as hiw they fit us in I was perfectly fine with the wait. Oh yeah, and Rory had a slightly infected ulcer in her eye. Which had I actually waited those 6 days could have been much, much worse. I am so glad I called this specific store and they will now be my primary vet. Even though it is 15 miles further!

I took my new kitten to Banfield for his first check-up and it was the worst experience ever! I have never owned a cat before so I had a lot of questions. The first girl told me the cat was a girl, the doctor said it was a boy...still dont really know for sure. During the exam, my kitten got very upset from all the poking and prodding. I said that we should wait to do the blood test and that I would bring him in in a few days because I was worried that he may get hurt or hurt one of the nurses. The doctor insisted that it needed to be done and that my kitten would be okay. I let them take him and I heard my kitten screaming in the back room while they took blood. He came back to me with both back legs wrapped up and the doctor said they had a hard time getting blood. Then when I went to check out, the woman told me that my cat was bad and that she and three other nurses held him down while doing bloodwork. I was outraged! I called and complained to customer care and nothing was done. I will never return there for any type of animal care. I dont think I will ever shop at PetsMart either. I dont want to support a company that condones treatment like that of kittens and their owners!
