My wife and I got a new puppy (a goldendoodle) in January 2015. After spending several hours online looking for vets in the Fredericksburg area, we decided to make an appointment with Hope Animal Hospital, and we are so happy we did. To start, Hope Animal Hospital has a very user-friendly website with all of the prices for vet services described in detail. There are no surprises about how much a visit will cost at Hope, which is unlike many vets we have had experiences with in the past. Next, Dr. Ahmad and his staff are simply wonderful. They seem to truly care about their patients and their owners. Each time we visited Hope, everyone was so excited to see how much our puppy had grown since our last appointment. Additionally, Hope Animal Hospital is open seven days a week. It is not difficult to get an appointment, and you will always see Dr. Ahmad as he is the only vet in the practice. Dr. Ahmad seems to be very knowledgeable about his field and is willing to explain the reasoning behind everything he is doing or plans to do to your pet. Another positive about Hope Animal Hospital is their "Puppy Care Plan," which includes all the necessary vaccinations, lab tests and examinations for a new puppy. During the time that your puppy is enrolled in the "Puppy Care Plan", Hope Animal Hospital offers a discount for office visits. As I mentioned previously, all of the prices for each visit in the "Puppy Care Plan" are explained on the website (and by the staff in the office), so you know how much each visit will cost ahead of time. Finally, Dr. Ahmad is able to perform a variety of surgical procedures at Hope, including laparoscopic spaying and neutering. A few weeks ago, we had our puppy neutered, and Dr. Ahmad did it laparoscopically (meaning a smaller incision and quicker healing time). Our puppy recovered from the procedure and was back to being his rambunctious self in 2-3 days following surgery (even though he was supposed to have limited physical activity for the next week per the doctors orders!). My wife and I are sad that we are having to relocate out of the area and will be leaving Hope Animal Hospital. We highly recommend Hope Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a new vet or anyone looking for a change. We are more than satisfied with the care they gave to our puppy and can only hope to find another vet just as knowledgeable, skilled and compassionate as Dr. Ahmad.

I honestly cannot say enough about Hope Animal Hospital and Dr. Ahmad! I moved back here from Northern Virginia a few years ago and needed to find a veterinarian who not only loved what he does but loves the animals he helps as if they were his own. Hope Animal Hospital had recently opened its doors and I took my St. Bernard, Molly, there for a routine exam and shots. We fell in love with Hope Animal Hospital right away! Dr. Ahmad is the most knowledgeable and caring person --- and he is also a straight shooter. My husband and I take our five dogs (2 Great Danes, 2 Great Pyrenees, and 1 Boxer) and our cat (a Persian) to Dr. Ahmad because we know we can always trust his answers and he is as concerned about our pets welfare as we are. My Sweet Molly (St. Bernard) was diagnosed with Lymphoma shortly after we started seeing Dr. Ahmad. He referred us to a wonderful oncologist to treat her, and Dr. Ahmad and his staff provided Molly the sustaining care that, in my opinion, kept her with us for a year and a half after she was diagnosed. Molly would visit Dr. Ahmad every week for bloodwork --- and it was something that she honestly looked forward to. Even on her "bad days" (and there were very few of those), I think she saw her visits with Dr. Ahmad and his staff as a bright part of her battle with cancer. They always showed her love and affection, made her feel comfortable, and gave her treats (which she loved). My sweet Molly lost her battle with cancer on June 24, 2014. She was surrounded by people who love her --- to include Dr. Ahmad and his staff. He was the only person I trusted to make sure she was completely comforable during her final days, hours, minutes. Dr. Ahmad cared for Molly with love and attention until the end. And, for that, I will forever be grateful. He is now treating my Ginger (my Boxer) who also has Lymphoma. Ginger is almost 12 years old, so we are opting to keep her comfortable with Prednisone and plenty of love --- I can always count on Dr. Ahmad and his staff for that. As you can see, I cannot say enough --- and I could continue to write (we have stories about our Great Danes and our Great Pyrenees too) because Dr. Ahmad and his staff have always been there for us and our furry family members! Thank you, Hope Animal Hospital, Dr. Ahmad, and your Staff! You guys are WONDERFUL!

We have been visiting Dr. Ahmeds clinic since our arrival to Fredericksburg approximately two years ago. We initially came because of the coupon we found in the local curricular, but we will never go to anyone else! Dr. Ahmed is so kind and gentle with our cats, Stormy and Paisley. Paisley has been known to be a bit temperamental, but it doesnt phase the doctor or his staff in the least. They are as sweet as can be with her and have never even been slightly harsh in either action or tone - even after being bitten. And Stormy has been quite sick over the past few months with several visits to his office, and every time it seems that he cares for her like he would for his own kitty. Dr. Ahmed cares for the two legged folks just as much. He patiently answers all of our questions (of which there have been many), ensures that we understand all of the issues (of which there have been many), the medicines, and what is needed of us. He makes you feel like your family is his only patient and he has all the time in the world - which is reassuring when your furry one is not well. Additionally, the staff schedules well and, even though he spends quality time with each patient, he is nearly always on time for our appointments (exceptions may be for emergencies). We are a busy family and Hope Animal Hospitals hours are suited to our lifestyle. Dr. Ahmed has made it impossible not to make time to take your furry one to see him - he is open seven days a week with long hours. I dont know how he does it, but we have seen him at all hours and he is always the same sweet, kind and humble person. We cannot recommend Dr. Ahmed and Hope Animal Hospital enough. If you want someone - and his staff - who are caring, gentle and loving toward your furry one and you, and will truly take the time to be with you, this is the place to be.

Awesome animal hospital. Dr. Ahmad and his staff are wonderful, caring, and when you enter through the door, they treat you like family. My Collie, Alaska, had his first encounter with Dr. Ahmad two years ago. I came home on a Friday afternoon from work to find his ear was infected. My current vet didnt have weekend hours so I searched and found Dr. Ahmads office. I got an appointment for Saturday morning. Dr. Ahmad treated my Collie and cleared up his infection. While I was there, he noticed hot spots. He examined Alaska and found that he had a skin infection due to the food he was eating. He put him on a Prescription food and within a month, Alaska had no more hot spots, his skin cleared up, and now he has a beautiful Collie Coat so I decided to stay with Dr. Ahmads practice. In March when Alaska was there getting his annual shots, Dr. Ahmad noticed he had a growth on top of his head. He removed that growth this month and worked around my work schedule to get the surgery completed on the same day. I was afraid it was cancer but the tumor was benign. I cant say enough about Dr. Ahmad and his staff. They really care about your pets. I live in Locust Grove, VA, but I will continue to drive to Fredericksburg whenever Alaska needs to see his favorite doctor. I cannot say how thankful I am to have found Dr. Ahmad and now my beloved Collie has found a vet for life. Thanks so much Dr. Ahmad for caring for Alaska.........
