Short Pump Animal Hospital is the best of the best in Va and probably the US. We have been going to Dr. Hickey for over 35 years and he has pulled our Labs through some difficult illnesses and accidents from mast cell tumors to accidental ingestion of rat poison. Recently we visited for a sprained wrist on my older Lab and Dr. Lee lasered it and she was like a young pup the next day - she went from badly limping to playing with her younger sister in 12 hours. Then my younger Lab developed UTI symptoms and they worked me in on a very busy day and after a careful diagnosis gave the appropriate meds. What really tells the story is that my dogs go in their feeling greatly at ease- wagging their tails and wiggling around the staff- so those facts tell the quality of their staff and their loving attitude toward animals. Dr. Hickey, Dr. Mo and Dr. Lee all should have the name Dr. wonderful as they are the greatest. Linda Tinsley is the best groomer. What a great combination of vets, vet techs, desk staff and groomer they have to care for their dogs. It I well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive for me to take my dogs to them. GB Weeks

I have had cats as pets for 50 years (yes, aging myself), encountering many competent veterinarian groups across five states. Short Pump, Drs. Hickey & Morlino and their team of techs and staff, are by far the best. They are modest about their abilities, a characteristic of the very best in a profession. The diagnoses they have provided are always spot on, and they truely LISTEN to the customers and are meticulous about following up with you...and following up as many times as needed. Recently, a pharmacist called me directly, and very promptly, about a specialized compound treatment he was creating under the direction of Drs. Hickey & Morlino. I can tell you from experience, this is very rare. Clearly not only is this practice respected by customers...it is appreciated by solid medical professionals that have interracted with this team, also!

I am extremely pleased to give this review for Short Pump Animal Hospital and the staff there. To get to SPAH takes me a drive of an hour and 35 minutes and every minute and mile are totally worth it. My dog now has a doctor that can diagnose and treat her. My appointment was just a week ago and all ready the symptoms are subsiding and after years of doctors and treatments THIS is FANTASTIC!! The relief and appreciation I feel are off the charts. Dr. C. Morlino is knowledgeable and analytical in her approach. She takes the time to listen and somehow gets the puzzle pieces to all fit together. I am very impressed and glad to shout it to the world. Virginia, the receptionist, is also top notch with her calmness and care to detail. Kudos to Jen for her great phone presence!!!!!

I have taken my dogs to Short Pump Animal Hospital for 23 years. The first dog was a difficult male jack Russell. They worked well with him and he lived to 16 years old. Now I have a sweet female Jack Russell who is getting to be elderly. Drs Hickey and Morlino give excellent and kind care. They are warm and friendly to the 2 foots and four foots. They stay current on all advances in veterinary medicine. They are an AHA facility which is great. I drive a half hour to take my dog to them. I highly recommend them.

Short Pump Animal Hospital is THE BEST place for you and your pet. I have owned dogs and cats for more than 40 years and lived in 5 states ... and Short Pump Animal Hospital is FAR AND AWAY the best veterinary facility that I have ever experienced. They really care about you and your pets, have extensive experience with a wide variety of animals, and are courteous and professional ... from the Receptionist all the way to the Owner. Cant say enough about this place ... you will not be disappointed!

I recently found myself responsible for getting my sons Boston Terrier neutered during his extended absence. There was no one I trusted more than Dr. Hickey and Short Pump Animal Hospital. My daughter and I have a long history with Short Pump and they have never disappointed us. They tested the dog thoroughly to make sure he would be fine and the surgery was very successful. In fact, he is a much more pleasant dog to be around since the procedure. Thanks a bunch Short Pump!

Drs. Morlino and Hickey and the entire staff are dedicated caring experts. They diagnosed a highly malignant cancer in my dog, Sasha, and walked with me and Sasha through her treatment. At times Sasha needed on the spot attention and last minute appointments and they responded well to our needs. Sasha did not last as long as we wished, but the doctors and the staff were there at the end to hold our hands and hug us both. I cannot imagine a better vet experience for my dogs.

Short Pump Animal Hospital has been so good to our family! They helped us through a very sad time with our cat K.K. We have taken all of our pets there and they treat them like they were their own. I feel so welcome there from all the people at the front desk to everyone that works in the back. Having 2 German Shepherds and 2 cats are alot but they make it very easy. Have nothing but great things to say about them. I would rate them a 10 star if I could.

After moving to Glen Allen from Charlottesville, I took my cat to Short Pump Animal Hospital for a routine well visit. I was very impressed by the staffs professional manner and knowledge. Dr. Christine Morlino was so loving to my cat and patient with all my first time pet owner questions. I highly recommend this facility. They even called two days after my cats visit to check up on him. Short Pump Animal Hospital is definitely our new permanent vet!

We recently adopted a 6-week old Lab mix puppy and took him to SPAH for general health exam. Overall, it was a great experience and I was really impressed by the dedication, thoroughness and thoughtfulness of Dr. Christine Morlino. She not only thoroughly checked our puppy but also took a lot of time to educate us on the puppy care and training techniques. We sure would like to continue to use SPHA services for long time to come.

Short Pump Animal Hospital is the best, I have had dogs ,rabbits, guinea pigs, & snakes in my 50+ years. I have never met anyone like Christine Morlino I would follow her wherever she is practicing ! Dr. Hickey & I go back to 1978 when he treated my beloved German Shepard who lost a fight from being poisoned. At the moment our 3 dogs are patients at Short Pump Animal & couldnt imagine them being anywhere else.

Dr. Hickey, Dr. Morlino and the entire staff at SPAH really care about the welfare of your pet. Dr. Hickey is responsible for saving the life of our beloved chocolate lab. He detected a heart murmur when she was 8 weeks old. It turned out to be a serious condition that was successfully treated by surgery. 5 years later we are still very grateful. I wouldnt think of taking our pet anywhere other than SPAH.
