My senior dog had a hiking accident on a Sunday. I called my old agility trainer to ask which emergency vet she recommends and she said this place. I was surprised...because were NOVA Elite and Manassas definitely has a stigma. But I went with it. I called in advance to let them know I was coming and they greeted me by name when I walked through the door. There was a decent wait that first visit but it was completely understandable since my emergency was very minor compared to some of the other patients. We had a reasonable experience with the emergency vet, though maybe not the best Ive ever had as far as communication goes, and were referred to an orthopedic surgeon to have TPLO surgery. I wouldnt call it cheap but it was on par with what Id expect with a Sunday emergency visit with multiple X-rays. I was pretty stressed out about the idea of surgery because of my dogs age. I work in healthcare and I want to know EVERYTHING. I spent days researching the surgery, alternatives, anesthesia risks for a senior dog, etc. I spent a lot of money and time driving to some of the more famous orthopedic vets in the tri state area for consultations. Something never felt right with how the other surgeons rushed and were just ready to go with a TPLO. My dog got better and better but obviously still had something wrong with him. I called my trainer again and she told me to go back to Manassas and ask for Dr. Bradley. So I did. Dr. Bradley and his LVTs were great. They did the most thorough exam of any of the surgeons I consulted. They had lots of visual aids to describe the procedure. Dr. Bradley was also pretty quick to say that surgery might not be indicated without me even bringing up my reservations. The LVTs were sharp and confident and gave me a tour of the operatory and recovery areas without my having to ask. For the first time, I felt comfortable. I left my dog behind and told them to do whatever they felt was right carte blanche. He received a mild sedative and had yet another exam/xrays while sedated. They decided he didnt need surgery, called me immediately, and proceeded with non invasive treatment. ITS A BIG DEAL WHEN A SURGEON IN ANY FIELD RECOMMENDS AGAINST SURGERY! Im very happy and grateful for that healthy level of skepticism and independent diagnosis instead relying on what the previous vets had said. We went back a couple times a week for a couple months for follow up treatments. My dog is doing great now and Im ecstatic that he didnt have to have major surgery at his age. The LVTs were great at all his follow ups and the front desk forwarded all his records to my primary vet without any effort on my part. I walked in the door as a "tough patient" and walked out completely satisfied. Highly recommend Dr. Bradley and his team.

I had to take my pet here due to a weekend emergency. Overall, they were able to assist with the immediate problem, but I am not sure that I would use them again. The bad: The service was extremely slow -- I was in the waiting room for 2+ hours and spent over 7 hours there for some pretty routine tests on my dog. The bill was over triple what the same exact tests cost me less than a week later; they charged almost $100/xray and the xrays are so fuzzy I am not sure how they could even read them (and yes, I know how to read an xray). The vet wanted to do even more tests (for another $600) and made me feel lower than dirt when I refused the test, even after she could not explain how it would help my dog and after I stated numerous times that I did not have the funds to cover the tests. They were never able to fully explain what is going on with my dog, so I ended up having to take her to my regular vet the next day anyways! The antibiotics that they prescribed were, according to my regular vet, at least double what they normally would have cost. The worst thing about the whole visit was that the vet would not test for one thing at a time to try and keep costs down, it was an all or nothing approach -- I ended up with a bill of almost $900 for what was later correctly diagnosed as a routine infection. The good: The front desk staff is very good; they were all pleasant and attentive. The vet tech who initially looked at my dog was very thorough, and everyone who I dealt with was very nice and attempted to be helpful.

Our dog was run over by 3 cars at 6 PM on a Friday night going into a holiday weekend. He was frantic and bleeding from multiple sites and at the time we could only assume that he had been hit at least once. We called the regular vet who recommended PW Emergency. We also called ahead and were met in the lobby by the vet. I was not at all disappointed in the diagnosis or treatment plan for the dog (who had no internal injuries and no broken bones but a severe case of road rash, and an all-but-punctured cornea.) We let him stay overnight so their staff could monitor for any effects from a concussion/brain swelling - they strongly suggested this but in no way pressured us to do it. I assume it is the nature of running an emergency clinic, but it was disconcerting that they took him away to do the primary exam and did not let any of us stay with him. In fact, in 3 total visits, no vet or technician ever examined the dog in our presence. One final negative - after being told multiple times that there would be no charge to remove his staples, they still charged $42 to clear the eye injury when we took him back for the staple removal.

...When ones loved family member (my dog), suffers a life threatening injury, one hopes and prays for a miracle. That is what these folks professionally delivered in their daily diligent every day work. I am grateful and daunted about this hospitals competent ability. I may start at the top with Dr. Smith the Director and Doctor Thompson or Dr. Henderson- all masters at their craft. However, I will not stop giving compliments to the leadership or the the glamorous team members. EVERYONE, including Brian who treated me for my mauling injuries and to the technichians, helpers and ALL, including the front desk. Nothing short of professional dedicated experts who have a process and who understand what is necessary to deliver best practices. I take my hat off to these folks. They are absolutely up to the challenge to what they do. I will not fail to mention that their final invoice was very reasonable and probably goes just far enough to ensure that they deliver quality and that they stay in business. A wonderful hospital. Thank you so MUCH for saving my dog- You are the best!!

DO NOT TAKE UR PET HERE IF U SEEK EMERGENCY DENTAL TREATMENT. this place is great but if u suscpect that ur pet needs emergency dental care this is not the place. I called the front desk late one afternoon with concerns regarding my dogs oral care. I was DIRECT about my reason to be seen & VERY specific when I described the symptoms my dog was experiencing. He had a very distinct odor coming from his mouth, it was slightly swollen & he wasnt eating. I asked the front desk, if they could PROPERLY treat him. In which they said they could. Long story short, 3 hours later, I walked away with a bill for kidney test (which Id had done by my primary but the Dr insisted running more???) I wasnt specifically treated for what I came there for. They did give me an antibiotic but nothing for his pain? DO NOT TAKE UR PET HERE IF U NEED EMERGENCY DENTAL CARE! They will tell u that they are equipped/specialize in this care but that is false. This place seems to be great. But if u need dental care, I urge u to seek help elsewhere
